IVE's album is somewhat better than what I expected. The title track doesn't really give any tingles likeee at all, but with the b-side, I found myself enjoying the project. Bang Bang, being a pre-release, I have already listened to and loved the song. It seems like the girls tapped into some influences. Track 4, titled Stuck in your head, reminds me of works of their senior group EXID, with punchy synths and melodic hooks sprinkled all over the track. The solo songs they've performed on their last concert were also included on this album. I really don't have any particular feelings for those songs, except I find the solo songs of the maknae line somewhat endearing. Overall, I'll prolly rate it a solid 6.5 out of 10, they still have a long way to go to outdid themselves after releasing their immaculate debut album Iv'e IVE.
zzzzzzzzzzzz.... That music video gave absolute zero reason to check out the rest of the album. Teasers ahead of this release pique my interest, only to bore me when it was served on my table. Truly a crime for pulling a queerbating act zkzlklzklzzlk. I really couldn't care less if they don't follow up with those suggestively queer teaser, It's just that the finished product is so lackluster in every single wayyyyyy. MV is yet another modern SM MV slop, nothing much to comment about. But the real offender is the music accompanying the video. The duo decided to visit the early sounds of their original unit, NCT Dream. Both members are known rappers of their respective unit, hence making the song rap-focused, yet the duo failed to recreate the charm of their original group. This makes me think that Mark was heavily carrying NCT Dream in the rap department. Production wise, it left much to be desired. Nothing interesting happened in the whole duration of the song, making me scroll through my phone out of boredom. A solid 4/10, their pretty face is not enough to save this song.
