I'm tired of hearing about Young Kirk and Young Spock. I want a (good) show about young shithead Science Lieutenant Janeway falling in BFF love with Tuvok while on adventures together and there's ZERO ROMANCE. I MEAN IT. NO ENTERPRISE LOVE BOAT ALLOWED.

I'm talking ZERO love interests for Janeway as far as the eye can see. People of all genders keep flinging themselves at her but she refuses to let herself do anything more than have a pathetic wank because of her angst about Tau Ceti Prime. She channels everything into raw chaos bisexual energy with Tuvok just enabling her at all times.

T'Pel asking with pure Vulcan sarcasm if they had fun and in the middle of Tuvok replying that Vulcans only do their duty not have Fun, Janeway (still slightly hungover and wearing sunglasses) slings an arm around his shoulders and says, "SO MUCH fun. You should've been there, T'Pel. You should've seen the way your man risked it all to save my sorry ass from a sentient liquid people. We almost died again."

T'Pel: "Again?"

Tuvok: "....we meditated after."

Janeway: "AND we meditated after!"

there's a 2-part season finale with time travel hijinks and fanservice cameos by both Kate Mulgrew and Tim Russ alongside their younger counterparts, showing that even 40+ years in the future these two are still BFFs and getting into Some Bullshit together

YES I NEED THIS SHOW. My fan casting of Janeway, Tuvok and T’Pel is Kiernan Shipka, Ashton Sanders and Letitia Wright (just based on vibes).

A recurring joke in the show could be that people think Tuvok is much younger than he is because he’s a recent graduate of Starfleet, hangs out with Janeway, and also even for a Vulcan he looks very young. Every time he needs to tell someone he’s actually about 80 with a wife (and a child/children?) he gets more and more annoyed (“this would not surprise you if you had looked at my personnel file”).

Another recurring joke could be that T’Pel absolutely does not want to join Starfleet (because she wants to dedicate herself to Vulcan meditation), but she’s naturally an excellent counsellor and diplomat who always manages to save the day whenever she’s onboard. The ship’s Captain begs T’Pel to take a field commission and join the crew, but after many refusals the Captain starts encouraging Tuvok to invite T’Pel onboard as often as possible.

I have now finished Stargate SG1 on Netflix and I absolutely adored it. I love the nonsense and the characters and the team bonding. Granted, season 9 was more than lacking but I did enjoy the nonsense of Season 10 and Vala being a full time member of the show.

Fell a bit berefit now it's done. I am finding the movies and Atlantis.

I love Jack, and Sam, and Daniel, and Teal'c, and Janet, and Hammond, and Vala. I love the ridiculously ridiculous plots and the emotional moments and the absurd solutions and how the show happily continues to poke fun of itself. I love Thor and Bra'tac and sassy-pants moments with Jacob Carter. I miss SG1 already.

I have since talked about it so much my brother is now watching it, and likewise loving it.

Darrowby Knits: Audrey's Cable Cardigan

Its been a while since I have done an update but I had to stop knitting quite so much because my attention span has been a bit shot (and focused on Stargate SG1) and is hurt my wrist so I needed to slow down.

I do, however, have a lot done! The entire body is done, sewn at the shoulders and the button band and the neckband are done. I don't have buttons yet - I haven't been able to find any i like so I am going on a haberdashery adventure at some point. For now, I pinned the cardigan closed at the front an sides so you can see how it looks.

I had to learn a new technique to do the button band in that you join the band as you knit and honestly I am never doing pick up a gazillion stitches to sew a button band ever again - i have no idea what the technique is called but it's like a slip stitch join? Idk. It slaps though.

Look at how seamless that join is. Beautiful.

My cat is also shedding like mad, so everything is covered in tricolour fur. I've given up trying to get it all off and will just give it a go when its all made up.

One sleeve is already done and the next one is going to be started tomorrow so I think I am in the final stretches of this cardigan!

I actually like that body-only bit so much that I am considering getting some navy or grey yarn and making myself a vest come winter, if I don't have other projects lined up.

And then, because its Friday night and who's gonna stop me - I finished Season 7 and get Jack being frozen.

I need to go to bed. These guys need a break. Thought I'd have a fun evening watching Stargate and I get all this instead.
