Audrey meets Tristan.

She hesitated only a moment before claiming the space he’d offered and hugging her son for the first time since he was a week old. The baby she’d once held in the crook of a single arm filled both her arms now. He’d become a young man without her, and while she nearly cracked beneath the weight of all she’d lost, other broken parts of her seemed to knit together with his embrace.

Summary:

In 1913, Siegfried Farnon, a boarder at Scarborough College, meets Audrey Adamson, the groundskeeper’s daughter. Young love blooms.

In 1946, Tristan has an accident, revealing long-held secrets.

Some positive news: There really WAS a cat summoned for jury duty back in 2010. Turns out the error was quickly corrected and the cat did NOT actually have to travel to the courthouse. But at least we can enjoy the fact that a papereork glitch did once try to give a cat jury duty XD
