I really hope you enjoy this!! This is so cute and I’m more than happy to write for you <3 tbh, I don’t think about proposals a lot but super intimate/ private ones really warm my heart. 

Quarantine has been hard. You and Akaashi are homebodies, but you were both getting tired of doing the same routine every day. Obviously, being able to quarantine with your boyfriend is a blessing nevertheless. The two of you have gotten so close over the last year, completely understanding each other without the need to exchange words. 

As boring as the routine has become, waking up and rolling over to see Akaashi’s lashes flutter open at the sound of your alarm never gets old. The way he runs his hands through his hair, ruffling the dark locks before turning over to face you. His lips form a gentle smile before pressing a soft kiss on your own. Every morning he’ll hug you close, snuggling his cheek against yours before asking how you slept. The days became a blur at some point, and there was only so much you could do inside your home, but the little domestic moments continue to make your heart soar. 

You cook breakfast together every morning before heading to your designated workspace for the day. His job is a little more flexible than yours, so sometimes he’ll move all his paperwork to the table you’re working at so he can stay close to you. During your meetings, he’ll look up at you and make silly faces and laugh when you gently nudge him under the table. People assume Akaashi is a very calculated and serious guy on the surface level, and they aren’t wrong. Still, Keiji is super playful and sassy with you, always making witty jokes to hear you laugh. 

At some point during the quarantine, you guys started having karaoke nights where you either sing cute love songs to each other, or it breaks out into a singing battle. Keiji often sits behind you, watching you in awe as you pour your heart out, occasionally turning around to give him a wink or two. However, he almost always wins because his voice is angelic, and he no longer feels bad for rubbing it in. At the end of your nights, he would tell you how excited he is to have kids with you. Rambling on about how much he wants to have little ones running around as the two of you sing “I see the light” from Tangled to each other.

He seems a little out of it today, his hands cold and stumbling over his words, so you made it your mission to show him a good time. Tonight’s festivities started off with Keiji surprising you with your favourite takeout, and of course, you said you’d start the night off. Belting out lyrics to Rhianna as you dance for him, admiring how he still gets so red no matter how many times he’s seen you sway your hips. Completely focused on the lyrics on the screen, you don’t even realize what song he's cued next for his turn until it comes on. As your song comes to an end, you’re still trying to catch your breath from the absolute performance you just put on for him. However, when the next song's notes come on, the sight in front of you when you turn to face him makes you completely speechless. 

Getting down on one knee, he begins to sing “Falling in love” by Cigarettes after sex. After the first chorus, he puts the mic down and pulls out a ring from his back pocket. His hands can’t stop shaking as he reaches out to grab yours, “please stay with me for the rest of our lives, y/n. Will you please marry me?”. The breath in your throat gets caught, and all you’re able to do is nod before the tears spill out of your eyes. Shakily he slips the rings on your finger before you pull him in for a kiss. 

With tears in both your eyes, you spend the next ten minutes dancing in each other's arms with no music playing in the back. He whispers all the things he loves about you. From the way your cheeks glow when you start laughing to the way, your eyes sparkle when you take the first sip of your morning coffee. He describes how pretty he thinks you are when he wakes up in the middle of the night, and he looks over at your peaceful face pressed against his arm, with a slight reminisce of droll by your lips. How much he loves your kindness and ability to always know what to say to someone to make them feel better. He tells you how you teach him how to be a better person every day and how nervous he was to ask you. 

This isn't some elaborate proposal you see on screen, but it’s a perfect reflection of what your relationship is. 

“I love you so much. I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with you.”

“I love you too Keiji. I can’t believe you doubted if I would say yes. You know you’re stuck with me, don’t you?”

Shyly smiling at your teasing, he kisses you again. “Now I do future Mrs. Akaashi.”
