So I guess this is it. After what we've learnt with recent news about EA's future I think I'm done with The Sims 4 for the long run. This post is not meant to criticize nor judge anyone but merely to express how heartbroken I am and hopefully find a space where we can have a conversation and share our grief (?) together.
I am turning 32 years old this week and I literally don't remember a time in my life where I wasn't playing The Sims. The game played a huge part on developing my creativity as a child/teenager and it's been my comforting go to option as an adult for as long as I can remember. However, enough is enough and I think there's value in recognizing when it's time to move on and cherish things for what they were at some point instead of trying to hold on to them desperately.
Personally and even though I did used to for many years, I haven't contributed to EA with my money in a very, very long time (if you know, you know. Cough... Anadius... cough)... but I do support a few CC creators over Patreon and I've even comissioned some of them privately in the past in order to have some content I wanted for myself in the game and was also excited for others to experience.
But now everything feels different. Even if I don't spend my money on the game and contribute that way to its prosperity, posting here feels wrong as it is somehow a way of promoting it and therefore urging others to perhaps do so. I can't in good conscience post beautiful pictures/downloadable content for a game that from now on is going to be in the hands of Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund, Jared Kushner's Affinity Partners and private equity firm Silver Lake.
If it were for those people, an individual like me wouldn't have a voice, much less the rights I have. So I choose to stand with my community and decline becoming part of the problem.
So yeah, this is goodbye. I won't be posting any more TS4 content. To those who have followed me and appreciated my love for history, fashion, interior design and of course The Sims over the years, thank you. Being part of TS4 historical community has truly been an amazing experience I wouldn't change for the world.
I am excited for the Paralives and Witchbrook releases and who knows, maybe I'll be posting about them once they're out for us to enjoy. In the meantime, I'll keep the blog open just so I can go back to some of the posts whenever I'm feeling nostalgic...

Welcome to Complex Americana (Download Tray Files & CC)
After nearly three months of not picking up the game at all (couldn't be less interested in the fairies new EP, to be honest), I've been pretty inspired to go back to building these last few days. I know everyone is pretty much over the US now, but as an european kid of the 90s I grew up with movies and TV shows that sold you the americana concept like nobody's business. I'm thinking of movies like The Parent Trap, any Olsen twins movies/shows, etc. If you know, you know.
Also and if you've been following my blog for a while you'll know that two years ago, inspired by this whole New England aesthetic and along with many other buildings I spent DOZENS OF HOURS in, I built a lot called Complex Americana that was supposed to serve as a pool/social club for the vintage 1920s save file I was working on at the time. Unfortunately, that save file and all those beautiful builds died along with my laptop and I lost EVERYTHING. Please, before we continue... I beg you to join me in a minute of silence🥲
Thank you. I was truly devastated and so today I bring a little bit of redemption for 2023's poor ol' Simtleman by recreating and improving that same building all over again. So without further due, introducing your historical sims' favorite new place for summer getaways: Complex Americana!
The lot consists of a huge pool with a main recreational/social build plus four equal, fully equipped bungalows with a front porch, a small kitchen, a living room and an en-suite bedroom. Let's check the interiors out:

The lot is a 64x64. I built it in the 74 Gondola Road lot of Brindleton Bay.
I used items from several expansions and packs (listed in screenshot below), so if you don't own them those items might be replaced with others.
This lot is set as Residential, but you can change it to anything you want!
Like all my builds, this is a heavily CC based lot. If you don't have a powerful PC, it might get laggy while trying to play with it.
Regarding the CC, I do not own nor take credit from any item included within this lot. All credit goes to their amazing creators. As it is usual in me, it's mainly built with items from @surely-sims, @valiasims, @lilis-palace and many others like HARRIE or FelixAndre.
The .ZIP file (4.35 GB) includes two folders: one for the Tray Files and another one with all the CC. I'm 99.9% sure all the CC I used is already public for everyone; if it's not, it's been definitely longer than three weeks since it has all been in my game and you (the CC creator) shouldn't be putting content behind permanent paywalls to begin with ;)
The ONLY CC that is NOT included within this download is anything created by @lilis-palace and out of respect for her T.O.U. This lot uses items from the Intarsia, Folklore and Century Home sets listed below:

A roaring summer in Brindleton Bay, 1926
Featuring @happylifesims' gorgeous new swimsuit and @surely-sims' perfect new hairstyle for your average, flapper gal.
Picked up the game after months to create some 1920s interiors... for a change😂
Tommy Moscatelli at Del Sol Valley Studios, performing his hit song "My Plumbob darling" during the 1968's New Years Broadcast.
Tommy was a huge teenage heartthrob during the late '60s. His hip-shaking dance moves made him a global, controversial pop sensation that even managed to get the L.A.I.A. (Llamas Against Immorality Association) to try and ban him from appearing on national television.
He can be seen wearing @surely-sims's Strangers in the Night Set during this performance.

She was the first sim to ever write a celebrity gossip column and her razor-sharp tongue could make or break a career. She would stop at nothing to get the juiciest of rumors and would amusingly refer to her own mansion as "the house that fear built".

As you all know if you follow my blog (and other than the occasional Juno Birch appreciation post), I pretty much do nothing but historical gameplay. Roaring twenties to be more specific, daaahling!
However, one of the things I really struggle with is making unique characters with distinctive faces. I don't know why but somehow my sims always end up looking very much alike and it's very frustrating as I usually develop background stories for them and I like their appearances to match their stories.
That's why after gathering some inspiration from amazing creators such as @pixelshary or @dashisims while also trying to maintain my own personal style, I've recently been embracing and playing around with a more cartoon-ish CAS style.
I downloaded some sliders and presets to make the eyes and head shape waaay bigger to achieve that cartoon look and I have to say... I kinda love it! It's turning out very Disney like, which I believe complements my 1920s aesthethic beautifully (I'm thinking of one my favorite Disney characters ever aka the ICONIC Lottie La Bouff from The Princess and the Frog). What do you think?
Would you please help me out naming her? I'm thinking Hedda in honor of the legendary Hedda Hopper. But what should her last name be?
Also, huge shut-out to the one and only @happylifesims without whose content my game would be literally NOTHING lol😅
Lady of the Seas, a 1920s cruise ship (Download Tray Files & CC)
Hello my lovelies! It's been a while, I know... but you know how it is, you pick up the game and play non stop for like five days and then you forget about it for two months. Would it really be The Sims 4 if we didn't have a love/hate relationship with it?
I do check Tumblr every now and then even if I'm not in the mood to play the game, though. That's how I came across @khakas-cc's Painted Lady set the other day and felt so inspired I just had to go back to building! I thought it was the perfect set for a pristine white, Titanic-like cruise ship and so without further due... introducing the stunning Lady of the Seas!

Like all my builds, this is a heavily CC based lot. If you don't have a powerful PC, it might get laggy while trying to play with it.

What an absolute, GORGEOUS time I'm having playing with Juno👽

The STUN 'IN' MART & UFO home (Download Tray Files & CC)
So @surely-sims and @ice-creamforbreakfast made our jaws drop once again with their incredible Juno Birch CC Set, sure... but now you have to actually spend the time building a lot so you can start your new save file with the STUNNING Juno Birch and you simply can't be bothered. Is that so? Well, fear not my friend because here I am to make your life easier and allow you to jump straight into gameplay! Introducing the STUN 'IN' MART & UFO home, a residential lot designed specifically for none other than the LEGEND, the ICON that it is Juno Birch:
Since she landed on planet Earth she thought it'd be best for her to go undercover as a human, 1960s wife but hey, she also needed to make some simoleons... so why the heck not open a supermarket? Also, finding a parking spot in Ordinary Springs is incredibly difficult these days so she had no choice but to stunningly park her UFO home right on top of it. YES, THAT'S HAPPENING! Hello friends, long time no see! I'm about to move to Ireland within three weeks and to say I've been busy would be quite an understatement. However, I can always find myself some time to play The Sims 4 (especially when a new EP comes out) and I just HAD to try this new Businesses & Hobbies one, how are you guys enjoying it so far?
I created this beautiful mess of a woman named Barbara Salomon who smokes like a chimney and I'm absolutely OBSESSED with how stunning she looks:
Anyway, I decided she was gonna be a hairdresser and created a 1950s inspired hair salon & laundromant (because hey, why shouldn't those two mingle? lol) for her to thrive as a businesswoman. And so today, I bring you this charming little lot I've spent way too much time on for you to enjoy as well! Here are some screenshots:
