I wanted to look up what kind of dogs the vikings had in order to make a historically accurate shitpost meme, but while googling "viking dog", figuring I'd find pictures of some kind of big cool war dogs or dogs used for hunting moose and bear, but instead I found this

This is literally a viking corgi.

The Pembroke Welsh Corgi developed starting roughly 1,000 years ago from a mix of the 3,000yo breed that was the historical Cardigan Welsh Corgi (first brought to Wales with Celtic groups emigrating from continental Europe), and Spitz type dogs that were brought in with the Viking raids 1,000 years ago.

Corgis are a mix of Viking and Celt, and that's neat. The vallhund is literally very close family to at least the Pembroke corgi.

There are a number of Scandinavian dog breeds that might be also associated with Vikings, most of which are spitzen. The Norrbottenspetz, Karelian Bear Dog, Finnish Lapphund, Icelandic Shepherd, Finnish Spitz, etc.

Special additional shout out for the Norwegian Lundehund, which was developed to hunt puffins. (Lunde means puffin). They look like a generic medium dog at first.

Except they have secret weapons just for clambering over rocks to get puffins. They have six fully-formed and muscled toes per foot, as well as extreme range of motion in their joints.

And there's your lesson in weird Viking dogs.

As someone watching SPN for the first time, something occured to me. It may be generally known, but I still feel strong need to write it down.

After Henry Winchester's death and whole that mess with Abbadon, Men of Letters (my new favourite secret organisation of all time) stopped existing. There were no new members, no iniciations, nobody in the bunker.

But there were men continuing in their work. We all know that John Winchester used his dad's journal to write down all knowledge he gained about all that mess he went through and that he somehow followed what he was supposed to be.

But there is one man (and maybe more) who actually kept the legacy of Men of Letters - gained information, wrote it down, kept a library, spoke in tongues, was sending his own hunters on cases and always knew what is happening.

Bobby Singer.

Bobby Singer was the Man of Letters and he never knew. But if Bobby was alive now, when boys arrived to bunker, he'd deffinitely became some kind of their librarian.

(I don't know if Bobby returns, I shurley hope so, but no spoilerinos, please)

All I wanna say is that except stabbing himself to get rid of a demon who possesed him, selling his soul to future King of Hell to stop the Apocalypse, winning over said King of Hell, killing his wife twice (ouch) killing his tyrant father, letting an angel touch his soul, running from his own Reaper, becoming a ghost and saving the day AGAIN multiple times, Bobby Singer was Man of Letters without even knowing it.

So, louder and everyone.

Bobby Singer was Man of Letters and goddamned legend.

(Also, we need to mention Garth, following his footsteps, carrying his Legacy - the whole season 8 is full of talking about legacy.)

This is an unpopular opinion? Hell, I love Bobby, but our Bobby and not this poor excuse for one. Sure, it's a new spin and all, but.. A lot of his scenes were out of place, he got together with f-ing Mary Winchester and disappeared for who know how long without adding anything important to the plot.
