"Huff—"
She ran, and ran, and ran. But she still couldn’t find any exits nor clues on how to get out. Yet she kept running around, even if she was feeling exausted, exploring every street, every building, every room she could sneak into. She needed to get out and go back. As soon as possible.
This place was strange, so very strange. Although the city seemed like an ordinary one, once you lived there for a single day, you could tell that nothing was normal -- the constant surveillence, the NPCs, everything bothered her. Inori could not adapt to this place at all. She wanted to go back to Tokyo, back to her life and to... Shu.
And then it happened. Just as she was thinking about stoping just for 5 minutes, to catch her breath, she ran right into someone that was passing by, causing them to step back. Well, at least they didn’t fall. But now she had to talk to them.
"…Excuse me, are you alright?"
The young man in front of her was... Different. Emerald eyes, long hair of the same color; he was also tall and he dressed very fashionably. However, there was something off about him. She wasn't sure what it was but... His aura was strange somehow.

For once, she had decided to go out and do something other than wander around in the city. It's not as she had given up on finding a way out but, for now, she was aware that she had to live here. And living here meant she had to go to certain places, do certain things, talk to certain people; she couldn't just stay locked up in her room, even if she wanted to.
Inori left the building and headed for a map that was located right in front of the exit. Browsing through the image quickly, she decided on her destination and turned left. After walking for about 10 to 15 minutes, she had arrived. The library.
It was certainly not a bad place to spend some hours at. And, well, it was better than staying home. The building itself looked old for some reason, like a library should look. Upon entering, she glanced around the first room, before walking into the main lobby where all the books were stored. There were some people here and there, but it was pretty much empty.
The inside of the library was, indeed, imposing. So much more vast than every other she had entered or even seen, it looked like it had milions of books. Now, she wasn't even sure of what to check for first. Maybe a nature book? Or a novel? Or... a music book? Yes, that would do.
She headed for the music section, walking slowly so that she would not make too much noise. There, the looked through the shelves, trying to find classical-themed books.
I was planning to type down 2 starters and reply people but I didn't even check if I owed replies 'cause I'm feeling really sick ugh. I'll try to update this tomorrow. Sorry!

A harsh scowl only grew less friendly upon hearing the girl’s startled words. He realized that the forms of level threes were rather human-like, but how could this girl mistake it for a person completely? Had she lack proper eyesight or common sense?
Yet, her words planted a seed of paranoia within him, especially after the incident with the last akuma where a sliced car took the place of what was supposed to be remains. There had been chatter about people going slightly mad, hearing things, and seeing things. However, he didn’t wish to think that he fell under of any of these categories. His psyche had to be strong enough to purge such an illness, didn’t it?
" I save your ass and that’s the thanks I get? Che. "
Perhaps he would happily remain in denial this round, while avoiding a search for answers until everything had subsided. He only wished to destroy more; he wished to deliver fulfilling punishment for the sake of letting off steam. Was that all too much to ask for? Or was it pure selfishness that he had allowed himself to indulge in?
" Just snap the hell out of it already; that thing was a level three akuma, of course. Perhaps you didn’t get a good enough view of it. "
Glancing around, he searched for more of these beings that plagued the city. Surely there had to be more of them in this sector; he could have sworn that he sensed a mob of them. From the corner of his eye, he viewed something suspicious. Once more he viewed another lighted object making peculiar noises. Just by looking at it, it appeared to be a level one. Turning away from the girl and towards the target, he slid a finger across the blade of his sword, ready to attack from afar.
"Hell’s insects. "
With the command, a swarm of large, pale insect left his sword’s blade, piercing holes through the level one as the beaming lights flickered until dying out completely. Ah, fulfillment once more.
Looking behind him, to his surprise, he viewed that the female hadn’t left the vicinity yet. Did she lack fear? Or did she stay stagnant because fear was increasing?
" I’m no babysitter and I can’t guarantee your safety if you keep hanging around. You’ve been warned. "
The shaking suddenly stopped and her face grew sterner. "Saved me from what? That person you killed didn't harm me in any way." It was not like Inori to be so serious about something this...trivial, but she couldn't help it. Had this man gone mad from the fog or something? She never even saw him before, it was the first time she laid eyes on him, so he was probably not from this sector, since she had memorized pretty much everyone's face. He seemed to be struggling, like her words had hit a nerve or something.
Again, he mentioned akumas. And, on top of that, acted like she was the one that didn't see properly. However, as loud as the voices in her head were, she could still recognize what was dangerous; she could clearly see that what he called akumas, were just persons/NPCs or cars or other objects. She noticed him looking around and, then, locking a target.
"Hey--"
He didn't even hear her and just attacked randomly again. Then, he looked back at her, seeming surprised that she was still there. "I don't need your protection or anyone else's, for that matter." She mumbled, low enough so he wouldn't hear it.
Her head was hurting more now, Mana's voice growing even louder. She couldn't give in to it; she would never give in. So, she pushed it back, and got up, walked towards the black-haired man and grabbed his right arm as tightly as she could. "Stop killing random things!" Inori was not the type to shout but this case demanded it. "You're going crazy! Those are not your enemies, they're just objects and people. They're not going to harm you."
This guy couldn't be going around causing havoc like this, so she hoped to reach him through her words. If not... Well, she still had her gun hidden in her dress.

Damn his luck for winding up hitting a pretty girl! And double damn the weird glitch that made her look positively feral in the first place!
Kneeling down to her level, concerned grey eyes ran over her person, staring at the few cuts and tears he happened to cause. He was vaguely surprised that was all she wasn’t injured more, but he wouldn’t complain. Thankfully, he was far from killing the girl, but he could help but feel bad he even attacked her to begin with.
"Heh. It’s a bit late for that." Spada smiled weakly as she responded to his question, “But glad to hear it.” He didn’t want to admit to being really worried, but he would’ve punched himself if she was anything but perfectly alright. Pushing himself back to his feet, the delinquent scratched at the back of his head as he looked down on her.
"So, uh… I’m really sorry…" He repeated himself, this time sounding less rushed. “I dunno about you, but this virus thing’s been messin’ me up. That’s why I—… Yeah.” A small sigh escaped his lips as he pictured the weird creatures in his head. He thought about explaining that better, but he figured he would just sound all the more insane.
Instead, he just leaned down to lower his hand to the girl. “Here, lemme help you up,” he offered with a more relaxed grin. “This might be kinda a weird time to ask, but was there a reason you were followin’ me?”
Luckily, she was used to war-like situations, so she was able to avoid any serious injuries, even though it was her first time witnessing such a strange power. Plus, her own power had probably protected her as well. That attack from the young male, it was strong; a normal person would've been a lot more hurt -- if not worse.
Her clothes, however, were not as lucky. She had 'holes' everywhere and you could see through both her shirt and skirt, since they were pretty much falling apart. Inori crossed her arms in front of her, particulary her chest, the most damaged area, since she had protected her head from the previous attack with her arms. She needed a jacket or something asap.
"It's...fine. Really. You don't have to worry." She said, looking away for a slipt second, then back to him. "As you can see, I'm alright. I guess I'm used to this?"
He mentioned something about a virus. So that's what's been messing up people, that's the reason the electronical devises and even the NPCs were acting so strangely. Someone had hacked into the system, probably. It must've been someone really smart, at the level of Tsugumi and Kenji. This guy, whoever he was, had been affected by the virus and had been seeing others as enemies. She hadn't experience this yet but it's true that she had heard some strange voices before... Particulary this one voice... Mana's.
"I see."
"Ah-- ...Thank you." She took his hand, as it would be rude to just get up on her own, and lifted herself up. Now standing on her two feet, she realized he was taller than her (and taller than he had seemed before). "I was trying to find people." She tried her best to give a small smile. "All I've been seeing are...some strange looking persons, that don't seem to be functioning correctly. They're probably NPCs."

[She had been following him.
Her intentions July couldn’t name, but his gaze remained blank as she seemed to debate what to do from her position a bit aways. He didn’t move or flinch an inch as she finally decided to approach. She seemed relatively harmless, but looks could be rather deceiving.
The only thing she said was a greeting, and it wouldn’t get much out of the blonde. He continued to blink and stare as if she hadn’t said anything, only shifting his gaze upwards to look her right in the face. He wasn’t exactly the most talkative child, after all.]
He just kept staring at her, without saying anything. Inori then remembered that parents usually tell their children to not talk to strangers. And, well, she was a stranger.
"I'm not going to harm you." She said, looking him in the eyes. "...Are you alright?"
That might have been a rather stupid question but, asking something else like "where are your parents?" might cause him to flee. So, for now, her main goal was to check if he was okay and if he needed help.
Hacktuality CA event : I myself am most important to me
How many years had Natsume put on that brave face, that friendly mask, that gentle smile. How many years had Natsume tolerated the abuse he had received. The harsh words and clear rejection from many members of his family, the sticks and stones tossed his way by children at school. How many times had Natsume cried out and warred with his emotions internally, yet continued to remain tolerant to the treatment he had received. Not only tolerated everything, but taken it all in his stride and accepted it as simply a matter of course. The abuse came not only from those of the living, but also from those who had passed, who saw him as an enemy due to the careless and hate filled actions of his grandmother Reiko many years before he himself had even been born.
How many times must a mirror shatter before the reflection cast becomes no longer recognizable?
At the present time, the city outside of the four walls of Natsume’s bedroom was no longer recognizable as the city he’d come to slowly know and adapt to; and with that change also came the change to Natsume himself. As if he’d been infected with the same virus distorting the outside world, his mind had become clouded, mixed up and altered. The face staring back at him via the reflection of the bathroom mirror was much the same as it always was. Beige strands framed the contours of his features, and those features held their usual absent minded expression; the corners of soft lips turned up to form that gentle smile he often held when tolerating everyone else’s shitty actions toward him, and those amber eyes were instead now holding a slightly darker hue compared to their normal brightness. Natsume was known for having a fairly short temper at the best of times and his patience didn’t hold out for too long either, but despite those faults, he would always make his best efforts not to be a bother to anyone else.
But his current self, his newer self no longer carried the intent to make those efforts anymore. He cared none for the well being of those around him and those walls he’d built around himself were not only falling, but were also bringing about a change in him that caused him to view the world in a different sort of light.
The world was a cruel place, filled with cruel people, and he would be cruel in return.
She awoke, suddenly. Heavy breathing, sweathing, accelerated heart rate; this was not normal. Inori sat down on the bed as quick as possible and looked down at her hands-- They were shaking, trembling, as they held on to the sheets. Her whole body was shaking. However, she was not cold nor scared of anything, and there was not any reason for her to be. So, what was happening?
It was still early but there was so much noise outside. Such a commotion out of nowhere, what in the world was going on out there? She got up and approached the window, trying to take a look outside; she couldn't, though, as the glass was completly fogged up, not allowing anything to be seen from either side.
"What's...happening?"
Clenching her fists, Inori turned around and headed for the closet. She switched clothes as soon as possible, grabbed her cellphone and left the room, locking the door behind her. She tried to use the elevator to go down but it wouldn't work; the lights were weird as well, giving a strange feeling to whoever was located inside the building. She took the stairs instead, dashing through them, and finally managed to exit the building.
Outside, it almost seemed like a different world. The green fog, the noise, the (aparent) absence of people; everything was so strange. She had just gotten here, and already there were weird things happening. Why? All she wanted was to go home.
And then, it happened. Her mind went blank, her knees gave in and she suddenly found herself lying on the floor. And, after a couple of seconds, she slowly got up again.
"What a bother." She mumbled, dusting away her clothes. There was an eerie glow on her eyes. She was not herself anymore.

They ain’t really there.
That’s what Spada had been repeating to himself since they started appearing. He had been taken completely off guard when he first saw them, those misshapen Ratio soldiers, walking around. He didn’t really think about why his enemies from his home world would suddenly appear, but it wasn’t until after he had already fought them that he realized he was mistaken.
He had almost killed a helpless citizen, one “glitched” into looking like a monster. The glitches didn’t stop there. Even now, he was a blink and a flash of code away from having war flashbacks from the Devic Era. And he was not thrilled about having to play “Monster, person or illusion?” every time something suspicious passed by.
So he kept on his feet, trying to ignore everything that wasn’t directly coming after him. If someone was following him, he just took weird paths until they were gone. And that’s exactly what the Avatar was doing right now — walking down a back road until another little follower disappeared. The only problem being: it wasn’t working.
Spada turned his head enough to glance behind him. Sure enough, whatever was trailing behind him didn’t appear human at all. ‘They ain’t really there. They ain’t really there. They are not really there. They aren’t really there!' He chanted, hoping that his vision would be cleared when he finished. After a deep breath, he turned to look over his shoulder once more… only to be greeted face-to-snout with his stalker.
"Yo! Back off already!" He screamed, swiping his arm backward and releasing the spell he wasn’t even aware he was casting. An unwitting bolt of lightning followed his arm’s path and headed straight for the monstrous looking soldier behind. But, as expected, it was just another bug in his vision; one that faded away with a long string of unintelligible programming language and light.
"…Oh shit." He gasped, finally spotting the person behind the illusion. He didn’t see if he caused any damage yet, but he rushed over anyway to apologize.
"M-my bad. I thought you were… Nevermind…" He shook his head, instead focusing on the other’s well being. “You’re doin’ okay, right?”
Was this a nightmare or reality?
Inori ran down the street, even though she could not see anything in front of her, due to the thick fog in the air. It was a bit hard to breathe as well but that did not stop her. She had to find other people. People that were still as sane as she was, at the very least.
She had bumped into several...strange beings that were acting very erradicaly and saying weird things. Besides them, there had been 2 or 3 that didn't even look human; although, they probably were. But something had happened to them, something that changed the way they looked and acted. It was the same with the fog and the buildings and the electronical devises. Something had happened in the city. She remembered both Tsugumi and Kenji bragging about being able to hack into anything so, was that the case? Someone had hacked into the city's system? If so, then why? People were certainly harming others and themselves because of these...illusions. This was not good. Not good at all. As much as she didn't like this place, Inori would not sit quietly and wait for things to get fixed on their own.
After a while, she finally laid eyes on someone that seemed human. "......" She decided to follow after that person and try to talk to him, at least to check if he was okay and still sane. But he would not stop, he just kept running away; so she kept following.
She finally caught up with him but;
"--!"
Inori got thrown back by a strange power, probably dispelled by the young male she had been pursuing; he thought she was an enemy, huh. Luckily, there didn't seem to be much damage, only a couple of scratches on her arms (that she had lifted up in front of her face for protection) and her clothes were torned here and there.
"I'm fine." She replied, sitting up as quick as she could. "Don't...worry about me."

Destruction has never felt so necessary in this city; the destroyers needed destroying. This havoc required some taming. Not to mention, that through his eyes, he viewed a sudden outbreak of akuma. Level ones, level twos, and level threes simply roaming the area; they were the perfect targets.
What better place to search for those to destroy than Sector Three?
From Sector Five, the male had sprinted and jumped from building to building in order to hastily arrive at his destination. Something inside of him told him that he needed to hurry- something was rushing him.
All hell appeared to break lose in the city and such a sight felt rather off-putting. The place was already boisterous and irritating enough, but now it has all doubled entirely.
Jumping from a building to the ground, he found himself in an eerie Sector Three. How nostalgic this all felt. Orbs darted back and forth, observing the surrounding area for akuma to destroy. Though in others points of views, he may have looked like an insane vigilante, he viewed himself as a swordsman merely trying to put off some steam- some pent up fury.
Looking to his right, a stagnant object began making peculiar noises, light protruding from its eyes. What looked like a car to most, looked like a level one akuma to the swordsman.
" Innocence: activate"
Darting forward at full speed, in the blink of an eye, his sword smoothly ran through the “akuma”, destroying it once and for all.
" Pathetic. "
Lips pulled into a grin, for never had destruction felt so fulfilling while being acceptable among the fray. He felt anger towards the Order and these scientists. He realized that his lifespan has been incredibly short, yet its entirety has been spent acting as a puppet to others. Remembrance of that fact added incredible fuel to the fire.
Orbs glanced backwards at the destruction he had caused; however, instead of viewing akuma remains, he viewed a car that had been split in half. Eyebrows immediately furrowed as a scowl overtook a neutral expression.
" What…? "
However, before he had time to place these pieces of the puzzle together, he viewed what seemed to be a level three akuma, acting aggressively towards a citizen. Granted, he couldn’t care less about said citizen, but he was glad to be capable of destroying something once more.
Sprinting forward once more, his sword remained to his side. Upon approaching the being, he made sure that it would slice straight through the akuma’s abdomen while almost attacking the victim of the akuma as well. Alas, it worked, for they disappeared entirely.
Hues looked over to the citizen who had nearly come into close contact with the edge of his sword, as a content grin failed to disappear. How fantastic it felt to slash a sword through something.
" Che, you should leave before you get yourself into trouble with another akuma; you’ll just be collateral damage and I’m not stopping anytime soon”
Inori suddenly woke up outside, without knowing what had happened or how she made it there. The last thing she remembered was heading towards her apartment, when the lights suddenly went out and there was a strange loud noise, that sounded like an electronical devise of some sort. After that, everything was a blank.
The thick fog had taken over the area, so you couldn't really see much apart from yourself and a few steps away. This made walking around very dangerous, for you could walk right into a car or into someone else. But, what was more disturbing was... The voices. Strange voices that were sometimes low, sometimes high; voices that would not leave you alone, voices that would not quiet themselves. It was like they were inside your head and knew everything about you. They whispered things that you did not want to hear; to her, the voice was... Mana.
She clung to her own body, as if hugging herself. "Shut up... Shut up... S-Stop it... Please...!" She kept repeating, without moving an inch from where she was standing. Until someone approached her. It did not seem like this person was in a very good condition themselves; their talking was erratic and it sounded very artificial, like a robot of some sorts. Inori wasn't sure if they would harm her or not but, given the conditions in which she had found herself, it was best if she got away from them.
It was then that it happened.
"Ah--"
She could not believe her very eyes. This man, whom had jumped out of nowhere, had suddenly slashed through the strange being in front of her. And then, he called it an "akuma".
"W-What did you just..." The voice stopped for a moment, allowing her to clear her mind a bit more. "Why did you kill that person...? And calling them a demon, what...was that for?" She asked, her body still trembling a little.

[To many of the people passing by, the tiny child on his own would been odd.
With height barely passing their hips, dressed in suspenders and a paperboy’s hat, they would have expected a face of panic, annoyance or boredom on his features, thinking him to be lost or simply waiting for a parental figure. After all, what else would the children around here be doing?
However, there was no such expression on July’s face. Instead, his features were a blank slate, lips in a small line and eyes dull and glazed. There wasn’t so much of a twitch of a lip, a sniffle, or anything along those lines. With pale palm pressed flat against the glass window of a shop, he wasn’t so much as waiting as searching.
A specter zoomed around the many windows and bottles in the city, only a seconds search needed before moving on to the next location. It took a few minutes, as the place was rather large, but soon he let out a small sigh and removed his hand from the window, obviously having failed in his search for his companions .
They weren’t here. He was alone.
This didn’t seem to phase him, however. With programming taking over most of his thought processes, he knew there was only one course of action to take now that he was stranded without his usual caretakers, and that was to find a new one. Despite his somewhat emotional attachment to his previous, there was no time to linger on that now.
With shoes making little noise against the pavement, he blended in with the crowds, making his way through them in his newfound mission to find someone capable of taking care of him. Even if he had given housing, that wouldn’t do him much good unless there was a person to help him.
Of course, he soon came to a stop, looking much like the pinnacle of a lost or homeless child, standing by a bench and watching the people passing by with a blank face. There seemed to be plenty of strong candidates….But he wouldn’t ask anyone outright. Instead he would simply wait and hope for someone to ask him to follow him.]
Inori wasn't a tall person at all, so she blended in well with a crowd (if not only for her pink hair). However, the person that passed by her caught her atention. It seemed like a child, as no teenager or adult would be that short. It was not his height and the fact that he was alone that caught her eye, though; it was the expression on his face. He did not seem lost at all. It was like he was the one searching for someone, or something.
She followed him through the crowd. He stopped near a shop, as if he was now waiting for someone. This situation was clearly strange and she wasn't sure of how to act. Inori had not been taught how to deal with children and she wasn't exactly the best person to socialize with. But, she felt like she had to do something, even if it was just talking to him. She wasn't used to this place yet so how could a child feel in this environment?
She walked towards him, slowly, and stopped about 2-3 steps away. "...Hey." She called out, carefully observing his every movement.
"Not really. I wasn’t raised to believe in luck, but I understand that it helps people make sense of things they don’t understand…I take it you don’t believe in such things either?"
"......" She wasn't quite sure how to reply that. "I-- I don't know. I've never experienced anything that would be considered lucky or unlucky... I guess."
