It does make me laugh when I see posts like, “I USED to be a transmed - BUT THEN I GREW UP!” like it’s supposed to be some sort of “gotcha” moment. I’ve been a transmed since 2012 and was fairly active on tucute/transmed discourse tumblr from 2015-2017. I’m a full-grown adult man - and yes you need dysphoria to be trans and no your xenogenders aren’t “valid.”

It’s very insane to me how online there is such an abundance of “trans men lesbians”. Does the word .. man or lesbian just mean nothing now. You’re a man. You’re not a lesbian. You’re attracted solely to women as a trans man ? Congrats. You’re straight.

the favorite part of transmedicalism online is that at its core - it’s just the basic acceptance that dysphoria is a requirement to be trans. that’s it. very simple thing that a lot of people agree on.

but depending on which heavily online circle of the internet you’re on, you say “yes im a transmed” and suddenly you’re getting bitched at by 16 year olds who think you’re a hardcore conservative because it’s such an “evil” ideology.

why is the basis of “you need dysphoria to be trans” such an evil thought in the first place?

btw if you tell me that transmedicalism is a miserable ideology and that everyone who follows it is rude, can’t let other people have their own opinions, and think there’s only “one way to be trans” let me tell you the amount of times i have been called a fag or told to kill myself because i don’t think being trans is fun. because i view it as a medical problem that i treat. bc i don’t think you can just call yourself anything and have it magically be true.

like i genuinely don’t understand how we are the bad guys when 70% of people who disagree literally just tell me i don’t deserve to live.
