Comic I did for the Fumetto Comic Competition, with the theme of "Flesh". A man knowing he will die soon decides to go out on his own terms, after indulging in several pleasures of the flesh.

In-depth thoughts below the cut!

Initially I planned for something more overtly sexual and violent, but then I remembered an older idea and a story by Pu Song Ling I had read recently. The shadowy figure in the comic is a fox spirit, which are known for seducing men and draining them of their life energy. They were originally viewed as inherently evil, but some interpretations take a more sympathetic view, which I ultimately went with here. The fox, while still being otherwordly and a bit unsettling, has come at the man's request and treats him gently. While being a fox spirit, he also somewhat represents death, as something to be embraced rather than avoided.

Also, fun fact: fox spirits generally suck out life energy over several months by having sex, as men's yin was thought to be contained in semen. I crossed the fox spirit here with geung si (Chinese zombies) to give him a more instantaneous life-draining bite.
