i have seen some really weird doomerism from all sides today about marie-philip poulin saying that she's never gonna play the same its going to go badly its going to massively hurt the victoire etc. we need to consider

1. poulin is a player who's primary strength is her hockey iq and playmaking abilities vs just pure skating. there's lots of incredible skaters who don't produce like her because they don't make the right decision every single time like her. she doesn't need a knee to do this

2. it is completely possible to fully come back from these type of injuries. especially if you have the best trainers and lots of time to dedicate to rehab. there is always the possibility for chronic pain limited range of motion reinjury etc but its not guaranteed

3. also the victoire will be okay next season and beyond if she can't fully recover. we showed this season we're perfectly capable of competing without poulin in the lineup, and we're going into next season with what looks like an even deeper offense

4. she said she's not retiring. and she's not pregnant. and she's not going to get pregnant while recovering from an acl surgery

its GOING TO BE OKAY!!! everyone take a deep breath. sports injuries happen. its not over!!!!!!

I don’t think I’ve seen any talk on here about Jules Constantinople (25th pick, to the Goldeneyes) being the first Latina (Puerto Rican/Italian) player to be drafted to the PWHL, so sharing this!
