i honestly think he'd really love how the gems look after he gets over the initial curiosity and just spends like..hours researching and learning about certain dentistry practices in pre-columbian latin america (this was practiced by both the mayans and aztecs from what I read)
any historical corrections/constructive criticism is greatly appreciated (especially with the clothing since i couldnt find diagrams of specific clothing that isnt purely based off of the murals or first hand accounts by colonizers)

The Seating Chart
The Living Room
Beverly: Trombone
• she started when she was younger because she thought the sliding valve was funny
• struggles a bit with keeping the instrument up parallel to the ground (i dont blame her, I've held that shit and it can be tiring)
• Likes to hang with Hector, Rainey and Abel after rehearsals
• Sometimes practices outside of rehearsals with Rainey, Kopi and Abel
• Sometimes plays at the bars that Eddie and Volt work at on days where she's feeling it
• Has shown up to rehearsals hungover before and gotten sick (only once though, mutual secrecy with Hector)
• Has been trying to get Hector into the jazz ensemble for a while now
• Her first piece in the jazz ensemble was Fracas by Randall Stanbridge. She loves it
• Tea before more demanding pieces always calms her tremors down
• Always giggling whenever shes next to Jean Lou, hand on mouth trying to be quiet
• One of the worst people to make eye contact with whenever Sassy Chap or anyone is crashing out
Cabrizzio: Mandolin, Clarinet
• Don't look at him whenever his clarinet squeaks. Just dont
• He waits for the day there is a Mandolin part in his music
• Adores ballets
• Has serenaded someone with the mandolin before
• Vanilla flavored reed..
• Gives flowers to his section alongside Prissy, and receives just as much from the audience
• The type of guy to go 'no, like this!' when showing you how to do something. Most of the time its genuinely helpful
• pronounces the FUCK out of dynamics. Hank 5 and Hank 2 share a sound board that includes these instances and my god when its quiet and you just hear 'MEZZFORRTE' and make eye contact with someone it's actual hell to stay quiet (of course, a bit exaggerated but like... come on)
• Can seriously get down with the mandolin, and will attempt to write his own part into music for fun
• Loved On An Evening In Roma by Dean Martin. He personally picked that piece for the jazz ensemble
Cam: Percussion
• Couldnt give less of a fuck about this but hey it pays
• Is best on the drumset, like Justin Bieber levels of good.
• doesn't shut up on snare even after the conductor stops for a moment
• got dragged into marching band somehow
• Chronic half time truther
• You can see a brief smile on his face after concerts
• If he had to pick a concert piece that he liked doing drums for, its Everything Beautiful by Samuel R. Hazo (surprisingly enough, but dont comment abt that)
• Did the drum solo for Cruising? For a Bluessin? by Maynard Ferguson
• Can clean up really nice for performances, even though he's in the back and he doesn't really as much as others
• that isn't to say that he doesn't truly care, he does care. He's just more laid back, but cares enough where he does get stress on some pieces
• Had his own 'What about bob' moment with a raccoon showing up continously at the worst moments possible, mainly at rehearsals. How the raccoon gets in? No one knows.
• The raccoon is named Asphalt Roach Spicylicious
Daisuke Dishware: Viola
• Probably one of the most quietest in the entire orchestra
• its okay to lighten up sometimes my guy
• Is one of the few people in the orchestra who needs to be convinced to decorate their instrument during holiday cycles
• Makes it a point to take the best care of his viola, but honestly as everyone should
• the most unsuspecting member of the 'Instrument Closet club' (who he got that title with? No one but Maggie knows)
• A strong believer in the 'Macbeth' superstition as he was a victim of it at one point. The result? He got mono the day before he had a solo
• Don't know where he is? Break a bit of your instrument and listen closely for a small gasp
• Hes the one to tell Hank 4 to lower his volume when speaking.
• he and Amir are neck at neck for best hair for performances when it comes to the male performers. its more a fun inside joke between some of the other performers on who will eat the other up more
• he isnt an absolute stick in the mud to be fair, he just is very dedicated and takes this shit seriously. He only really winds down a bit right after concerts where he is open to getting some drinks and small celebrations with Cabrizzio, Monique, Timothy and Mitchell Linn
Dishy: Sarrusophone
• of course he'd play the one obscure instrument
• Secretly gets peeved whenever he has the same part as another section yet the director always forgets to mention his instrument when going over that part during rehearsals (my personal experience playing the oboe)
• He gets annoyed when there isn't a part for sarrusophone in the music, so he usually writes it himself
• Say what you want about Realized Dishy, when he pulls up to the concert looking nice, he looks NICE
• Hair is done, formal dress...and a stupidly dumb yet earnest tie
• His instrument always smells disturbingly clean..like, to the point you question how he cleans it
• He and I Ronaldini sometimes go out for coffee before rehearsals
• He may be a bit unnerving, but he does care a lot for the orchestra and everyone in it.
• He always has water bottles on him if needed
Freddy Yeti: Bari Saxophone
• There is an ongoing bet on if he's an angry or more emotional crash out. He's aware and doesn't know how to feel about it
• Jolly asf whenever they play a jazz pieces
• His teeth make him almost unable to play the flute, much to his disappointment
• Silent fist pump whenever the orchestra does a more energetic piece by John Mackey or Randall Stanbridge
• Dancing in his seat during Moanin' by Mingus Big Band like no one was watching
• a fan of Count Basie..like, he got maybe 2 vinyls at home
• As humble as he may be, he does admit that he likes to show off sometimes
• Sometimes goes for gelato with Penelope and/or Mitchell Linn after rougher rehearsals
• You ever seen someone easily carry a loaded Bari sax case easily? Now you have
• Half of his playlist is music that the jazz band have covered at least once
• Hes responsible for the coolers if traveling to further/out of state/country performances involve a bus ride
Friar Errol: Viola
• previous history of beating Hank 4 with his bow and shoulder rest
• silent beef with Abel
• more beef with Stefan
• The most excited about playing hymns
• That guy who doesn't think that any orchestra versions of more modern songs/music is actual orchestra music
• The actual prissy snob you think of when you think of someone who's in an orchestra
• Wrinkles his nose at the idea of the instrument closet club..how unprofessional!..Secretly he understands the appeal, but he'll never admit that
• Genuinely the most PERFECT person to sing Frollos part of Hellfire from The Hunchback of Notre Dame if the orchestra performs it.
• If a chorus is involved in a performance, most of the time Friar helps out with organization (say what you want, my boy can run a choir like its Sister Act if needed and my god, does he get jiggy with it on his best days..in his own way)
Gaia: Trumpet
• if Dunk isn't playing, then you're probably hearing Gaia
• lovessss playing more cultural pieces, like she'll look up the composer and the inspiration and story behind each piece. It's really fun
• Has some Randall Stanbridge pieces on her Playlist
• She played the FUCK out of Brooklyn by Youngblood Brass Band with Hank 1
• Although shes open to a lot of music genres, she cant bring herself to like experimental music
• Has the cutest selfies with her section (and best tired ones from when they're traveling by bus or plane somewhere)
• Chronic waver to the audience
• Always asking about other instruments and how they work
• Gets some terms and names for dynamics and instruments wrong sometimes
• Before rehearsals, she likes to hang out in the Percussion section for a bit to check out more cultural instruments, such as the Gankogui, Djembe, Guiro and other instruments
• Either over-prepares or under-prepares for conerts (ESPECIALLY if its one that involves a trip somewhere far)
I Ronaldini: Viola
• most uncomfortable eye contact with the conductor
• Stand partners with Friar.. Ronaldini can never keep the music in one place
• Listening to just him and Lady Memoria play makes you feel as though you're apart of upper class society
• Keeps whatever smaller things he needs in his hat
• Always gets sick after concerts for some reason
• For some reason I think he'd really like the Nutcracker
• take the hat OFFFFFFF people can't see the conductor omfg
• Plaid tie. Always a hit or miss
• On days where he cant find a sitter for his bunny, Sassy Chap allows him to bring the bunny to rehearsals (with the proper equipment and enclosement for the few hours)
Keyes: wtf do u think???
• her favorite partner is Volt
• Unless she is on her death bed, writing her will, vomiting into next week and boiling alive from a fever, 80% of the time, she takes the piano solos
• Enjoys a nice tea break with Textbox Chan after rehearsals
• Can be spotted chirping away with Volt or Textbox chan when the conductor is focusing on a different section
• One of the last people to leave the rehearsal room when practicing
• A lot of people dont know that she always has gum on her. You wouldnt expect it from her tbh if youre not that close with her
• She is aware of a lot of the groupchats (that discuss more drama than actual stuff) and has been working up the confidence to ask Telly if she could join
• She isnt aware that she is already in the gc tho 😭
• If she could, she'd absolutely dance while playing the piano
• She has mixed feelings about the keyboard, preferring the classic piano more
• Textbox-Chan happily showed Keyes a lot of the more fun features a keyboard can do, such as different instrument modes, synths, etc.
• She is currently working on her Concerto for the orchestra to perform
Kopi: Clarinet
• the most laid back in her section
• learned the hard way why u shouldn't drink anything but water before playing
• The one to tap Phoneicia on the shoulder when its their turn to come in on a part
• Always has a drink on her (water) for anyone
• Genuinely one of the the best people to have as a stand partner
• Neatest and cutest notes and doodles on her music
• Every once in a while, she accidentally forgets her water and brings coffee.
• always has at least one pin on her outfit for concerts
• When the coquette trend was more popular, she had little brown, white and pink ribbons on her clarinet. Sometimes she puts them on her instrument if the concert shes in will def have a lot of kids in the audience
• Funnily enough, Sassy Chap is one of her most frequent customers on days where she isnt at rehearsal and is around her barista job
• She and Beverly sometimes pregame together before a concert
• She records for Beverly during jazz ensemble performances
Luke Nukem: Trombone
• One of the more dedicated members
• Would be better at solos if it weren't for his nerves during the actual shows
• Treats marching band as if its actual military band (even though marching band CAME from military bands)
• 'detail, attend, HUT!" you only hear his 'hut' over everyone else
• Perfect Trombone angle on good days
• worst pit stains ever
• The Trombone King by the US Army Field Band.
• He's probably one of the only people in the orchestra who truly loves doing marches
• You know he's nervous about a performance if he is talking louder or quieter than usual
• He and Vaughn butt heads a bit when it comes to dynamics
Lux: Percussion
• On their phone most of the time
• '..huh? what measure are we again?'
• 'what does this so again?"
• Is one of Timothys victims for scoldings when it comes to timing and dynamics
• it doesn't matter if they dont gaf about the orchestra, they will NEVER be caught looking bad during a concert
• Never catch them looking dead tired while traveling for away-concerts
• Gaia has done so once
• Live streams during the concert..somehow got a camera recording JUST them while they have their phone on their stand
• Shares a blog with Phoneicia
• Because of their leg brace, they sometimes need to use a chair during rehearsals (which is one of the things they like most about the orchestra let's be real)
• Say what you want about them being..them, their area in their section is ALWAYS super clean. Maybe messy with their bag? Sure, but will you get sick from being near them? Absolutely not
• "Oh that's..." if someone messes up during a song
Maggie Glassbury: French horn
• one time her glasses broke during rehearsal when Nightmare was playing. Luckily she had an extra pair in her bag
• The type to look at you if you made an obvious wrong note or came in at the wrong time. She cant help herself, she just TURNS to whoever did it on instinct
• Has written a few mystery novels while listening to the jazz ensemble play at the Breaker Box (bar that Eddie and Volt do part time at in this au)
• Doesn't like having fingerprints all over her instrument. That thing will ALWAYS be shiny no matter what
• She would have joined the jazz ensemble if it weren't for the fact that she prefers to listen to them play
• Her french horn is probably rose gold or a more silver shade
• If youre sitting next to her, you can hear her foot tapping to the time signature over the more quiet parts of the music
• She's usually the one who knows who hooked up with who in the instrument closet.. some people arent exactly good at hiding the fact that they made a mess and cleaned sloppily, or at hiding any tension the next day
• She gets frustratedddd with a lack of effort. she and Celia bond a lot over this
• even though she likes louder music, she sometimes uses ear plugs during rehearsals
Miranda Dulce Tostadora: Accordion, Guitar, Trumpet
• a national anthem LOVES to see her coming
• Taught Stefan enough guitar for him to play well in the orchestra
• Always shows up to rehearsals with a drink from somewhere
• Is probably in a mariachi band on the side
• Main accordion player whenever its needed
• Havana Nights by Randall Stanbridge. She almost learned the alto saxophone for that piece
• A little bit impatient when it comes to helping her sections with their instruments
• She actually learned the accordion before the guitar, believe it or not
• LOTSSS of stickers and designs on her guitar and instrument cases. She NEVER loses her instruments
• The members of her band are almost always in the audience with signs for her and enthusiastic as hell
• Got DOWN to Trofeo de Bolos by Alfred Jazz Ensemble with Rainey one time when she was in the Breaker Box
Mitchell Linn: Clarinet
• his face just reminds me of a Clarinet
• Has had a flavored reed once. He didnt care for it
• Very particular about his tastes in classic and modern orchestral pieces
• Secretly Despises Canon in D Major
• also cant stand Sleigh Ride
• Secretly a member of the 'Instrument closet club' (..a gentleman never kisses and tells, especially if its a Dear coworker..Or to be more Real, does It exactly matter? A Not so posh thing you'd expect from him..)
• Has his hair up for concerts in a bun, or a tighter pony(fish)tail
• Reads reviews of performances after a concert as if he's announcing the royal decree
• If there is any potluck planned, Mitchell and Monique run that group chat with a strict code regarding budget and what the theme for food is
• Unironically loves the Ratatouille soundtrack and suggested it to Sassy Chap
Rainey: Alto saxophone, Violin
• Definitely dances in her seat during songs
• She's very open to whatever pieces the ensemble plays, as long as it sounds good, or is just fun for everyone *if not most sections* to play
• That being said, she has her favorite genres: Jazz, swing, Broadway, operas, jazz, suites and filmscores
• was probably the first to join a jazz group
• She loves playing along with Keyes, Tony and even Johnny Splash sometimes!
• Has conducted the jazz ensemble before
• Decade themed concerts? You know she never jokes around with those in all seriousness
• 'It's just band!' truther
• She has a whole playlist of swing music for the jazz ensemble to play
• With Plenty of Money and You by Count Basie, Unsquare Dance by Dave Brubeck, Public Jitterbug No1 by The Cats & The Fiddle, Topsy by Count Basie and Apollo Jump by Lucky Millinder are on that playlist
• She sang When I Get Low I Get High by Ella Fitzgerald in the Breaker Box
• She can dance while playing her instrument and keep a steady tone
• Would prefer for the audience for concerts to dance while the orchestra plays
Scandalabra: Violin, Harpsichord
• oh he's worse than Harper when it comes to be dramatic
• moving all around in his seat when playing as if its for the royal court
• Is in a group chat with Rebel, Reggie and Tina where they all share bad photos of people mid-performance and just gossip
• I swear, Jon Wick levels of focus came out when he played Carmen's Habanera
• Trio Sonata in D Minor Op 1 No.12 by Vivaldi, Concerto No 4 in F Minor (Winter) by Vivaldi and String Quartet in D Minor Op 76 by Joseph Haydn are probably his top pieces when it comes to more orchestral oriented music
• His favorite classical artist is Vivaldi
• People DO sign up for him to help with hair for the concert, but he isn't as popular as Barry
• Won't shut up about the fact that he did do some music for Bridgerton
• Can shred on the harpsichord if asked. That's not Scandalabra though, that's Jon Wick, surprisingly
• Has had his hair slicked back and was without his usual makeup or more stylish attire (Jon Wick style) when he was low on time for getting ready for a concert once. He secretly loves the photos that were taken even if he was ever so slightly embarrassed for being so.. real
Stefan: Viola, Guitar
• Was taught by Miranda how to play the guitar well enough to play it in the ensemble
• Former stand partners with Friar, now is partners with Harper
• Does get annoyed when people confuse instruments for other instruments, especially if its so obvious that they are different (ex: Trombone and French horn)
• Has made people cry from how good he can play an opera piece
• The guitar helps with cooling off sometimes
• Everyone's always asking for some of his lunch during breaks because he brings food from home. Only Miranda and Luke have been successful so far due to bias
• Gets reallyyyy into the music, like, really into it and does not like it when the orchestra is stopped in the middle of a piece, even if its to fix something (he's do real for that though)
• ..because of this, he has a small grudge against Hank 4 as much as he does respect him for being a truly great violist.. and the epitome of 'lights are dimmed and someone might be home'
• He's in charge of the BBQ's and parties for celebrating a good concert cycle, especially in the summer
• He takes everything very seriously. He can appreciate a joke during rehearsal, but other than that, he's about always locked in during rehearsals
Timothy Timepiece: Percussion
• does NOT PLAYYYY about timing
• nastiest side eye to anyone who is off time, especially if its a solo
• the type to provide a metronome during rehearsals if he's especially annoyed that day
• "We have only 2 more rehearsals until the concerts and you still cant play this in 7/8!??"
• One of the WORST crash outs in the band when pushed to a certain point
• Has to be pushed to join after-rehearsal/concert drinks (the result? A hungover Timmy who takes 10 minutes in the bathroom puking)
• he ATEEEE the percussion solo in Do Not Go Gentle in That Good Night by Elliot del Borgo
• His worst secret regarding the orchestra? He's a member of 'The instrument closet club' (he'll be on his deathbed before saying who it was)
• If the orchestra EVER goes off tempo during a CONCERT, he's the first to start scolding backstage once its all over. And yknow what he's right for that from experience
• You know the orchestra fucked up badly if he just walks out without a word
Living Room Dateables (Date Everything Orchestra AU HCS P1🎻🎶🎼)
oh my god this is took a while, but here's the first part! I'll be going room by room, but damn if this wasn't fun to think about. Which I did. A lot. This post is huge so hcs under the cut!
The Seating Chart
Abel Table: Harmonica, Banjo, Viola
• He mainly plays the viola in the orchestra
• One of the only people in the entire orchestra who doesn't hate playing hymns or variations (he likes to challenge himself)
• can shred the Banjo but hates being teased for the southern stereotypes
• Always has extra rosin in case anyone needs it
• He used to struggle with the strings a lotttt when he was younger
• Really, really liked Ashokan Farewell by Jay Ungar
• Is currently in the process of helping Bodhi with furthering his skills at the Harmonica past Piano Man
• He allows one sticker on the case of his viola, and that sticker is a silly little apple from Dasha (but damn if that apple isnt cute). He just prefers his case to be more plain
• During the rare times where almost all of the performers that are able to go to dinner go to dinner somewhere (not ONCE has there ever been everyone present), Abel is one of the people arguing over paying the bill, or at least contributing to it (everyone pays for themself is the answer)
• He likes to help with organizing the more bigger hang outs with his section, or just some friends in the band (Dasha, Freddy, Beverly, Dorian, Betty and Florence, mainly)
Arma Alarm: French Horn
• it calms her down
• yeahhh she quietly plays when she's not supposed to just to see how the music sounds
• One of the known crash outs in rehearsal, but not in an angry way. Moreso in an overly stressed way
• Struggles a bit with timing
• Probably the loudest in her section without trying
• She needs to get that spit valve fixed because girl.. sometimes it leaks
• I like the themeing of Arma being an alarm (horn) and playing the French horn. it makes sense to me
• If there is ever a need to help with moving the heavier Percussion instruments around to prep for travel, Arma is def one of the people helping..have you SEEN her abs..?
• Somehow her horn squeaks sometimes. She doesnt even know how
• She is fairly good with sightreading
• Tea/coffee after rehearsals with River, Beau and (surprisingly) Fantina help her wind down a bit
Captain Jaques Pierrot: Baritone
• one of the more known crashouts in the orchestra
• the type to count for you if you mess up and he's getting impatient
• It's okay to play quietly, man
• Has threatened to use his Baritone as a weapon. HAS done so before
• Stepford has asked him multiple times to NOT empty his spit valve on the ground
• Unironically loved Pirates of the Caribbean, dont believe him when he says it was okay
• Also a fiend for the How to Train your Dragon soundtrack
• He actually likes to talk with Kristof about some things in their music. You know they're talking with each other if you cant hear your own thoughts
• He shares some of the same superstitions as Chairemi and Daisuke but won't really admit it as just a superstition.. especially when there's a LOT of proof against that notion
• probably has some of the best control of dynamics, like he was make SURE that whatever it is, it will be known what its supposed to be
• Surprisingly she has a liking towards slower songs
• vibrato queen
• her personal mission is to learn as many Broadway soundtracks as she can across the three saxes
• Probably won't see her in the pit for any shows that involve acting because she's one of the actors lmao
• She has probably written herself a part in the Hadestown soundtrack for one of her saxophones, even if she knows she most likely won't be able to play it during the actual show (she'd KILLL as one of the Fates)
• She has proof that a lot of theatre superstitions bleed into the orchestra - Macbeth, never whistling on stage. ghost lights, never saying good luck, etc.
• Weirdest pre-show signs of the performance going well. If she sneezes three times, the show will be great. Her shoes squeak? We're all doomed
• Some members of the band are able to participate in Broadway pits BECAUSE of her- she recommends to the director of whatever show shes in and most of the time, her efforts are fruitful
• an insane amount of reeds on her. Girl can never been too sure that nothing will happen with her reed in the worst moment possible
• if she could sing while playing her saxes, she 100% would
• She and Skips probably already met before the orchestra due to their roles in theater
Connie Soul: Percussion, Violin
• I dont even need to say what she loves playing in terms of music
• A lot more enthusiastic with soundtrack pieces, specifically OST for games
• Enjoys Gymnpedie No.1 if she has to pick a favorite classical piece
• Has the time of her LIFEEE with 1812 overture in the Percussion section
• She grew up going to those performances where the orchestra is playing some soundtrack from a video game or movie with the screen above playing media
• On that topic, she, Telly and Chance are working on actually doing that for a performance. It's in the works
• She can play DDR while doing Violin. She trained herself for that
• Loved One Winged Angel from Final Fantasy VII
• She is super adaptable. Need her to play second violin? She got it. 1st? She got it. 3rd? Already on it
• Worst comes to worst, she can still play pretty well even if half of her bow strings have snapped.
• You actually need to separate her and Telly if they're in Percussion together, they get shit done but you'll hear them both yapping the whole time. Same case with her and Textbox Chan somehow
Curt Chiffon: Trumpet
• NASTIEST growl on the Trumpet
• spit valve is.. yuck
• Rod makes it a point to highlight how disgusting it is..while his Flute leaks a bit from the keypads
• Loves using the mutes
• Come Sunday: II Shout! by Omar Thomas had him so giddy because of how lively it was, as much as he does like some slower, smoother trumpet pieces
• If Sassy Chap is scolding a section, you can NOT look at Curt. Not even a glance. Hand over mouth, bent over, head down, shaking, a little bit of sweat, he's trying so hard to not start cackling (I just realized how dirty i made this sound omfg )
• Coordinates outfits with Rod, even though their outfits may seem different
• Lullabies are enough to make him tear up ngl
• The weirdest thing thrown at him? A full sized vase full of flowers. It broke his trumpet and gave him a concussion.
• Will tease friends about how their photos look from concerts if they come out looking unphotogenic
• A sign that he is getting sick is if he just goes straight home after a concert instead of hanging out and celebrating or getting food
• When he has that flow, its hard to get him out of it
Dante: French Horn
• one time showed a student how to play using the same language as whenever he's teaching how to pick up a date accidentally
• "So when you finger it, you dont wanna be too harsh..remember, gentle with the keypads or the pressure will hur...damage them instrument over time."
• He prefers slower, more jazzy songs than the more energetic ones
• Likes to focus more on music than romance in the ensemble, like he isn't interested in finding love during rehearsals. Doesn't mean that he dislikes it in general, just a personal preference
• Lovesss soundtracks from more romantic media (Beauty and the Beast, La La Land, Ghosts, some Star Wars)
• loves (and is a tadd bit annoyed by) Mia and Sebastions theme from La La Land
• Heavily disapproves of the 'Instrument closet club'... whats so hot about making out in the closet..which is a work space..? He knows that there is appeal, but he'll doesnt and refuses to get it. There are far better, more sexier places to do without accidentally involving someone else!
• pleasee oil those valves more often bro
• his instrument gets warm very fast, which messes up tuning and just causes frustration
• I honestly think itd be really funny if he gave someone advice for a date and recommended seeing the orchestra perform some piece..only for the person to see Dante up on the stage. He gotta make that money somehow 😭
Dolly: English Horn, Violin, Fiddle,
• She prefers playing the violin, but favors the sound of the English horn a lot more
• She helps Lyric and Diana make their own reeds with River
• Truly one of the best and most versatile players in the entire orchestra
• Has done and loved Pieta by Ulysses Kay (It had a great English horn solo)
• Also really liked Solo by Bruno Maderna
• Probably teaches at a university in her spare time
• Calls her English horn by its birth name - Cor Anglais
• southern stereotypes be damned my girl CAN play a fiddle if needed
• The sweetest music snob you'll ever meet, if you can even call her a snob. She just prefers facts to be true and to use original instrument names
• One of the best people to have helping you with the violin and the double reed in general
• She has ruined a few reeds in the past when she was just a wee beginner fresh out of college with her degree in music performance. Now she uses tinted lip balm at the most (dont mention the coloring on the reed)
• Her instrument cases have a slight hint of a coffee scent
• One of her biggest flexes? She has done weddings before AND was able to bring home some cake. Best lemon carrot cake ever
Koa: Ukulele, Harp
• CAN fall asleep to his own music unironically
• HAS fallen asleep in the middle of rehearsal (has beef with Jean Lou for blasting the trombone one time)
• The first pieces he's learned on the harp were the Samsung ringtones
• He just likes the feeling of the strings against his fingers
• He may be very sleepy but he won't forget sheet music ever
• Because he has lost some sheet music before, he can memorize it well enough where he doesn't use it sometimes during concerts
• He had some of the most fun with the harp solo for Main Theme Pt.2 by Borislav Slavov
• One time he showed up to a concert with his hair slicked back. Never again
• Some of the best pieces the orchestra did involve a lot of Harp
• The only times he genuinely gets annoyed/pissed during rehearsals is when there is an excessive amount of unnecessary noise during the small moments where Sassy Chap is focused on another group and all you hear is yap yap yap instruments blasting yap yap yap
Matteo Manta: Flute
• Always bundled up during rehearsals if the season isn't summer
• Got the name 'Snow White' when a video of him playing music to the shelter he helps at spread in the orchestra.
• While some animals may not love the sound of music playing, the most receptive behaviors are head tilts, yawning, and sitting closer to Matteos feet when he plays at a more softer volume
• If Teddy isnt here to help with fingerings, go to Matteo
• He loves divisi (harmonization with your stand partner by playing a different note, it looks like a chord)
• He always has an extra sweater on him if the concert hall is too cold
• the mediator when it comes to arguments between Amir and Johnny Splash
• While Telly may be the equivalent of an energy drink if youre sitting next to them, Matteo is the equivalent of a Xanax 😭
• like you just feel lighter around him (it doesn't help that he and Koa are within the same vicinity in terms of seating)
• Never a plain colored outfit. Always has some sort of textile pattern on him somewhere in his attire for performances
Rod: Flute
• slight ego when it comes to flute
• Really good with tonguing faster rhythms
• Freestyles a lot
• isn't too good with coming up with original songs on the fly..
• Has buried the one memory of him tripping on stage in the back of his mind
• Instigatorrrrr.. He doesn't need to be near Curt to instigate
• Slightly tone deaf. He won't admit this
• Somehow has the video of Curt getting taken down by the vase of flowers. It's a reaction gif in a lot of the orchestras group chats (the situation it fits? no one can say for sure)
• When he and Curt are in the audience, they both embody those two old Muppets who hate on the show they're watching, laughing and everything.
• They actually dressed up like them for one Halloween rehearsal
Telly: Alto Saxophone, Tenor Saxophone, Trumpet, Percussion, Piano
• The actual heart of about every section he's in
• Most of his requests are soundtracks (half of the time, they're actually picked)
• Has requested Pirates of the Caribbean, Star Wars, Shrek, Back to the Future, The Good the Bad and the Ugly and Spirited Away (on record at least)
• For the jazz ensemble.. The Incredibles, Cowboy Bebop, Lady Dolce Vita, and La la land
• For someone who comes a bit late to practice everyday, he is one of the most dedicated people in the band
• His favorite people to play songs with in smaller groups are Connie Soul, Keyes and the Hanks
• He and Connie Soul have some matching movie/game merchandise stickers on their folders
• One of the people in the orchestra who cosplays whenever they're doing a soundtrack from any media. This man goes ALL OUT
