Toy Story 5
I just got done watching the new movie and just needed to say how amazing it was. I had brought my childhood Buzz, Jessie, and Woody knowing this may be the last time ill see them on the big screen- and it was such a nostalgic moment, seeing them all again. It was such a refreshing example of what toys can do for us, and how in its creation- technology was mentioned to bring us further together- not divide.
Then, as the movie ended, during the credits, a little boy with fake tattoos of dinosaurs and trucks on his arm came up to me and asked to see my Buzz. Over the next few minutes we talked and laughed, comparing our older and newer versions of the same toys we'd just seen on screen. He'd go to his parents, showing them off with such a big smile on his face, with all the care a little kid can have. It felt right out of the movie. Experiencing in real time, the way toys connect the young to the old, and how we bond through them, no matter your life experience.
Toys and the stories we hold with them are ment to be cherished. As we grow older we may leave them behind, may see them less and less as greater responsibilities take hold- but no matter what happens, we all have those memories. Just the little moments, playing with our toys.
