he/him/skeleton multi-fandom a bit crazy btw I'm 18 so please be respectful will occasionally rant about interest or random bullcrap I like to be friends with anyone I meet so if I get annoying let me know
I had a idea for a transformers prime swap au where bumblebee is a prime and Orion pax is bumblebee
It has been long enough. Here you go Skellacant, your swap au. Next time you have a request I would ask that you wait patiently please. I have a life outside of writing for Tumblr and constantly being pestered tends to make me lose motivation.
With that said, here is what I have produced for this idea. It was fun to write, but boy is it long. Likely the longest thing I have written on here.
Role Reversal
In another universe so similar and yet so different to its originator, different bots have different places, purposes, and functions. Sometimes this is for better and other times for worse.
Nimbus Prime (Formerly Bumblebee)
Bumblebee was a law enforcer in central Iacon. He did well for himself working directly for the Council and handling the crime within the city. He rarely questioned his orders throughout most of his life, but then as the caste system grew more and more prominent, making the class differences between mecha greater than ever, he started to think. His orders became less pure sparked and more sinister in nature, often leading him and his fellow officers to arrest and even beat protestors when ordered. Sometimes he was directed to raid homes and collect evidence for crimes that politicians had committed only for the evidence to go missing or be ordered to be destroyed by higher ranking officers.
Everything eventually came to be thick with corruption. There was not one day that went by that Bumblebee did not see the evil happening right before his optics and was forced to ignore it. He saw the darkest parts of higher society and it made him sick. And eventually it grew to be too much, leading him to turn in his badge in rage after an innocent was condemned for the crimes of a noble. He wandered for a while, but in his search for knowledge and truth, he found himself taken in by Alpha Trion. The older mech pulled some strings and got Bumblebee a position as his personal guard, an honorary elite guardsman essentially.
Under Alpha Trion he learned and became aware of the history of their people, leading him to come across an influential speaker in the gladiatorial arena, a mech fighting for change, a mech who went by the name Soundwave. He met the mech and they bonded over their shared desire to see Cybertron made equal. They fought together, with Bumblebee working to gain supporters in high places while Soundwave organized their followers in the lower castes. When the time was right, they went to the high council together as friends, both desperate for change. What no bot expected was for Soundwave's history as a former senator to come back with a vengeance, leading the council to disregard him and threaten his people. With no other choice, Bumblebee stood and spoke on Soundwave's behalf, and the Council being both moved by his words and interested in possibly having a new puppet, named him Prime.
The change in rank did not shatter their relationship immediately, in fact, Soundwave and Bumblebee saw his new rank as a way to have more sway. But things feel apart soon after as the Council and the high castes grew more violent while the lower castes became further oppressed. Bumblebee was determined to do things civilly, fighting for the rights of the people through speeches and diplomacy even as more and more of Soundwave's followers were suppressed, beaten, and even killed by violent police. It grew to be too much, and their friendship broke under the strain of their differing ideals.
War eventually raged as Soundwave could stand the persecution of his people no longer and Bumblebee refused to act. By the time Bumblebee accepted that there would be no diplomacy, Vos was already burning and the Council had issued a call for war. With no other option, Bumblebee gathered the Autobots under his banner, splitting nearly entirely from the council and attempting to mitigate the effects of the war for as long as possible. He and his Autobots were mainly a rescue and clean up crew for over a century, but when the Council fell and Soundwave continued his crusade, the Autobots were forced to join the war properly to save as much of Cybertron as they could.
When the time came, Bumblebee went to Primus's spark searching for a way to stop the war and the corruption of dark energon. And it was there that he was granted the Matrix and reforged as Nimbus Prime, guardian of the line of Primes.
The Lord of the Decepticons, Soundwave
Once a senator, Soundwave broke away from the Council shortly after the age of rust began, enraged at their actions. He tried to call for change, but his former comrades silenced him by sending him to the pits for crimes he did not commit. In bitterness he took a vow of silence, instead relying solely on himself and his precious cassettes to get by. However his vow was not meant to be kept as during his time in the pits, he met Megatronous, a miner-turned-gladiator fighting for change. Soundwave and Megatronous became fast friends, and for a while Soundwave served as his second, helping him to grow his following. But unfortunately Megatronous grew to be seen as a threat by the Council... and they had him silenced.
With no voice and no longer able to work as he used to, Megatronous was unable to continue leading his following. And so not wanting to see everything they had built crumble and also wanting to honor his friend, Soundwave took up the place Megatronous left behind. He abandoned his oath and spoke on Megatronous's behalf, becoming his voice and preaching to the masses in his stead. Soundwave became the leader of the yet unnamed Decepticons and was their figure head. He became their inspiration and Megatronous quietly faded into the background, becoming a silent supporter and protector of Soundwave.
Eventually Soundwave came to meet Bumblebee, and at first he only saw the potential use of the former law enforcer. But the more they spoke, the closer they grew, even to the point of considering each other brothers in all but CNA. It did hurt somewhat to watch the law enforcer be named Prime after Soundwave was denied rights to speak, but it was not the end. In fact, he wanted to be pleased. If his brother was Prime then they would have more sway and be able to fight for change with even more force. And so Soundwave waited, and waited, and waited for Bumblebee to make a move. He came to him regularly, asking for a progress report and helping him compose proposals. But he was always met with some type of excuse in regards to the lack of action, something about having to handle the Primacy or gain the favor of the high classes to make their proposals viable.
But Soundwave was patient, he waited for years, hoping that Bumblebee would start to make some progress. He did eventually start to make a change, but by then it was too late, he wasn't fast enough. The Decepticons were being brutalized, arrested, and otherwise harmed to the point where it edged on a genocide. Soundwave was forced to fight back, no longer able to wait and watch his people suffer. And so the war began, with Soundwave fighting against the Council. But by the time he got what he wanted, he was bitter, angry, and unwilling to risk the future of his people. And so he continued his march, ordering every bot to join the cause or die. His crusade continued unhindered until Nimbus Prime stood against him on the battlefield, an army of enraged Autobots on his side.
The Autobot Medic, Smokescreen
Young and overclocked, Smokescreen was a soldier during the Quintession invasion. But being so rambunctious, he quickly got a taste of reality, dampening his spirits significantly as he watched so many of his fellows die due to lack of treatment. And after barely surviving a near fatal injury himself, Smokescreen saw the need and retired as a soldier, instead going on to train as a medic. It wasn't really his desire or dream to work in medicine, but too many died due to lack of care and he was unwilling to sit by and let it continue after his brush with death.
He was not naturally gifted at his chosen craft and worked his aft off trying to become a medic. He succeeded eventually, but by that time he was jaded, more cynical, and less willing to tolerate foolish behavior. He nearly drove himself right into the ground with how hard he focused on becoming the best medic possible, learning every aspect of medicine he could feasibly get ahold of and put into practice. It was during his later years as a medic when he had just finished getting his master's degree and started working in his own clinic that he met Bumblebee. The former law enforcer had only been working under Alpha Trion for a few weeks by that point, but he was there when Smokescreen came looking for directions thinking he was one of the clerks.
They became fast friends as Smokescreen kept coming back to the hall of records, discussing everything under the sun. They shared a desire for a better future, they both agreed on many subject of debate, and their personalities meshed well. Many long nights were spent in the archives together when Alpha Trion dismissed Bumblebee for the day. They were close, almost brothers, and it was one of the greatest few years of Smokescreen's life, living and simply existing alongside his best friend. Of course then Bumblebee got involved with Soundwave's revolution things changed. Bumblebee became busier and Smokescreen found himself more on the sidelines than every before. But he got along well enough with Soundwave and his silent companion Megatronous to tolerate the shift in their friendship dynamic.
When Bumblebee was named Prime and Soundwave's people began to face severe discrimination, Smokescreen found himself torn. He did not want to wait like Bumblebee planned, mecha were dying and he was not the kind of bot to sit idly by. And yet he could see that Soundwave had begun to shift down a darker path, and he grew concerned. And so in the end he helped where he could but ultimately sided with the Autobots, staying by Bumblebee, and then Nimbus's side throughout everything.
The Spymaster, Megatronous
Megatronous came from the mines to the gladiatorial arena fighting for change, a chance for all Cybertronians to be treated as equals. He spoke without fear and made his intentions known as he felled opponent after opponent in the arena. Eventually he started to gain a following, a sizable following. The Council saw this, and recognizing the threat he posed, sent out agents to put an end to him before his revolution could truly gain power. The agents failed to kill him, but they tore out his voice box and managed to very nearly put an end to him with a stab straight through his tanks.
He survived, but he was left voiceless and unable to consume anything more than the absolute bare necessities to survive. He was weak, and quickly becoming sickly and emaciated. Without his voice or his prowess in battle, he was doomed to fail. Thankfully Soundwave, his best friend and second in command, took up his mantle, speaking on his behalf and taking his place and leader of their growing revolution. And while it did hurt for a while, watching everything he built go to Soundwave, he got used to it and learned to be proud of his friend. And so he devoted himself entirely to assisting Soundwave however he was able, swapping out his more melee focused upgrades for more... subtle things. Soundwave's cassettes were also placed under his care, partially to protect him but mostly to keep them from harm should assassins' be sent after Soundwave.
He got along well with Smokescreen once Soundwave started meeting with Bumblebee. He and the medic shared a great deal in common once they really started talking. But of course everything was not to last, and after watching Bumblebee repeatedly fail to take action as Prime, he agreed with Soundwave's assessment and grew similarly bitter. In fact it could be argued that he was even more enraged. He had everything taken from him, and the pompous Prime figure head still failed to do anything despite the fact that he was given the correct position to change things on a silver platter. While voiceless and weak, Megatronous was anything but harmless.
He took up the place of spymaster, orchestrating the Decepticons from the sidelines and sating his desire to fight against the enemy by connecting to Soundwave's cassettes as they fought and by directing troops. It did not even occur to Megatronous just how far the Decepticons had fallen until long after their arrival to earth, when he watched his leader and former second fall further and further into rage fueled obsession. Still he remained loyal, serving as Soundwave's shadow and ominous protector, handling everything that needed to be done discreetly.
The Scout, Orion Pax
Orion was an... interesting case. No bot knew where he came from save Alpha Trion who opted to say nothing in regards to the question. All that was known about his origins was that he was brought to Nimbus mere weeks after his ascension, still small and little more than a sparkling. Alpha Trion gave him to Nimbus with only a few pieces of vital information, that being:
-His name is Orion Pax- He is less than a vorn old- He must be kept alive- And he is a failsafe should the worst come to pass.
It was ominous, and no bot was sure what to make of it. But Nimbus accepted Orion nonetheless and raised him to the best of his abilities. Orion had a less than stellar sparklinghood considering he grew up during war, but he took it with stride and with maturity rather startling for his age. Being tall, lanky, and overall very good at observing and thinking fast, Orion was trained as a scout. He did extraordinarily well for himself, doing great work for the Autobots until he got a little too ambitious. He saw an opportunity to attack Soundwave and took it, wanting to help Nimbus and not waste such a rare chance. Unfortunately for Orion, Soundwave was never and is never alone. As soon as Orion leapt prepared to strike with his blades, Megatronous, Soundwave's loyal shadow, moved to intercept. The former champion caught Orion by the neck and after failing to get anything out of him in regards to Nimbus or Autobot plans, cut into Orion, inflicting the same pain he himself was burdened with.
Orion's voice was damaged beyond repair and his neck and lower face were heavily scarred. He barely survived long enough for Smokescreen to get him into fighting shape and has since been left mute. Orion was out for the count for quite some time, but he managed to get himself back into action, learning to communicate through different methods and quickly resuming his role as a scout. He tends to remain silent and when he does speak, communicated via EM fields when it is nothing urgent. But when on duty he will speak in binary or whatever broken Cybertronian he can manage.
He is an interesting and almost mysterious mech, with his unknown origins and strange connection to all things ancient Cybertronian. He understand Nimbus in a way that shouldn't be possible and sometimes acts like a mech three times his age. But generally he a kind and determined young mech interested in learning history and reading in his spare time.
The Mad Doctor, Starscream
Once the heir of the Vosian throne, Starscream took to pursing medicine as a way to climb the social ladder due to how respected trained doctors were. He gained his license as quickly as he lost it once he started attempting to do less than legal things in the name of progress. Once the war started he took as many of his people that would listen and fled to join Soundwave after the Council set fire to Vos. He and his fliers were taken in without much question and Starscream got himself a nice cushy position as head medic after killing or otherwise removing other contenders for the position.
Obsessed with himself and his own welfare, Starscream cared very little for the war or anything else for that matter. He did what was asked of him and kept to his medical bay, performing all sorts of warcrimes behind closed doors. Shockwave came to eventually worm (shove) his way into Starscream's life by being his overly optimistic helper and bodyguard. Despite being built like a brick and having the disposition of a puppy, Shockwave and Starscream got along very well once both got used to the other. Of course if the need arises Starscream knows nothing about loyalty and would gladly swap sides the moment it suites him best. Hence he does his best to not get involved in any actual combat, that way there will be no harsh feelings should he decide to jump ship.
The Avenger, Cliffjumper
Cliffjumper and his younger partner Arcee joined Nimbus on earth after he sent out a call for aid. Cliffjumper was familiar with losing companions as it had happened before, but he was particularly close with Arcee. Her death at the hands of Knockout was... brutal, nearly too much for him to handle. He is still a happy mech, filled with humor, fun, and overall a good attitude. But behind it all he has a burning hatred toward Knockout and the Decepticons. Especially after seeing Arcee's body be violated and turned into a twisted broken version of itself through the usage of dark energon.
He is the guardian of Jack and tries to mask his own pain at the loss of Arcee by attempting to nudge (push, with great force) Jack out of his comfort zone. Much of his time is spent with the children as he prefers not to think too hard on all that he had been through and the loss of his dear partner. Of course the moment Knockout or Breakdown, the killer of another of his previous companions, becomes involved, things go downhill quickly. He can be brutal when he wants and struggles greatly with keeping his cool when faced with those particular enemies.
The Loyal Guard, Shockwave
Once a senator, Shockwave survived the Council attempting to use shadow play on his processors. They wanted to make him a cold sparked emotionless weapon, but they ended up amplifying his emotions instead. In response to this, Shockwave joined with the Decepticons to get back at the Council, blinded by his increased rage. He later came to start to regret his choice after seeing how far the Decepticons had fallen, but he remains to take care of Starscream who wouldn't last all that long without him with the turbulent personalities of high command.
He plays the role of researcher occasionally, but usually for harmless of menial reasons. He does not intend to go anywhere near Arachnid and her labs, she honestly frightens him a great deal. Most of his time is spent in the medical bay with his somewhat oblivious vosian friend. He knows Starscream sees him as some sort of pet/guardian and maybe a friend, but he has also done a rather excellent job ensuring that Starscream never sees him as anything other than a loyal hound. He is terrified to lose his friend and would prefer to keep his more wrathful attitude under wraps and reserved for the battlefield. And so he only allows himself to let loose when up against Wheeljack, his rival.
The Weapons Specialist, Wheeljack
It was a bit of an accident for Wheeljack to have ended up with Nimbus on earth. He had been intending to meet up with his partner Bulkhead but ended up joining Nimbus when the opportunity to join the other wreckers passed. He is one of the biggest menaces and greatest weapons the Autobots have. He doesn't have a great relationship with just about anyone on the team except Orion and the human children who find his chill attitude a nice change of pace. His favorite pastimes are to harass Smokescreen, bother the rest of the team with dumb pranks, and to play games with Orion and the kiddos.
He may seem like an insensitive mech, but he does what he does because he can feel the sorrow within the base and does his best to alleviate it. Of course he still has his moments and purposefully will defy orders if it means he can get at Shockwave, but overall he is rather relaxed and serves as a greatly needed breath of fresh air for the whole team. He keeps them focused on the present and not the grim future, even if his antics are a pain.
The Scientist, Arachnid
She got roped into being a scientist for Soundwave after he got her out of jail and execution at Autobot command. She does nothing out of loyalty and only continues to serve because Megatronous constantly keeps her on high alert, looming with his cassettes and giving her a nice jab when she starts looking for an out. She thought she would be free once Decepticon high command left for earth, but she was wrong. Megatronous left all his cassettes save Lazerbeak with her to keep her in line, and even after returning to the nemesis she has not found peace.
If given the chance she would run, but with every Decepticon keeping her on a tight leash, she has become accepting of her position. Unable to do anything else she buries herself in her work, her greatest of which being the Predacon project.
The Rouge Wrecker, Ultra Magnus
After finding himself no longer agreeing with all of Autobot high command's decisions, Ultra Magnus struck out on his own. He took a ship from Wheeljack and travels the stars doing what good he can using his own values as reference. He will still fight Decepticons wherever he finds them and respects the Autobots, especially Nimbus greatly. But he does what he thinks is right and is willing to disregard orders if it means saving more lives.
Formerly the leader of the Wreckers and Nimbus's second, his old subordinates still respect him greatly. Even the current leader of the wreckers, Bulkhead, holds a great deal of respect and admiration towards him. And while it does stir some conflict on occasion, Ultra Magnus generally keeps to himself and doesn't take up a leadership role unless asked.
The Air Commander, Knockout
Petty as pit, Knockout was a private citizen before the war. Having a helicopter flight frame he was treated well even before the war. Once it started he joined up with Soundwave looking for a better place in life. He is a fabulous flyer, highly skilled, and constantly looking for a chance to overthrow Soundwave without dying immediately to Megatronous. He is intelligent and often plays his cards quietly, or at least with some degree of finesse. When he can he has others do his dirty work for him, often leading others to take the fall for his own plans.
He is a pain and the only reason any bot allows him to live is because he is useful, even if his obsession with his paintjob is irritating at the best of times. Him and Starscream are surprisingly good friends though, that with the medic silently hoping Knockout actually manages to gain control of the nemesis for his own benefit.
The Rookie, Ratchet
He wanted to be a medic more than anything, but being sparked late in the war and not exactly having a ton of resources available at the time, Ratchet was drafted as a soldier. He hated it with a passion but did well in his studies under the elite guard. Thankfully for him, Alpha Trion found him and took a liking to him, giving him access to all records on medicine in return for Ratchet guarding him. It was an easy enough joy and Ratchet didn't want to be on the front lines anyway. Of course when Iacon was attacked he was taken and escaped via pod and crash-landed on earth.
Since the moment he met the team he has been ecstatic. Every spare moment he has he spends harassing poor Smokescreen hounding him about everything medicine. Even after Smokescreen took him on as an apprentice he was insatiable and waits eagerly for bots to come back from battle just to path them up. His lack of care toward battle can be irritating to the team at times, but Ratchet gets along with them well enough. Him and Orion are especially close as Ratchet finds it to be a great challenge to try and figure out a way to fix Orion's voice. And Orion, bless his spark, puts up with it and spends a good amount of his free time hanging with Ratchet and discussing just about everything.
Heya it's me skell again I....wish I could help find solution to all of this sets down a heating pad close to Noelle to help her thaw...those a lot of annons are bastards but just to let you know I won't act like those lameos(walks into seams shop or well what's left of it)
