one of the hardest things to learn as a depressed former Gifted Kid™ is that half-assed is better than nothing. take the 50%, 40%, even 20% job. scrubbing your face is better than not taking a shower at all. picking up your clothes is better than never cleaning. nibbling on some bread is better than starving.
DO THINGS HALFWAY. NOW YOU’RE 100% BETTER OFF THAN YOU WERE BEFORE.
One of my college professors used to say “anything worth doing is worth doing poorly.” I didn’t understand that for years because I didn’t do anything poorly, I couldn’t do anything poorly, I had to Do Everything Perfectly.
But brushing your teeth for 30 seconds is better than not brushing them at all when that 2 minutes seems exhausting. Doing ten minutes of yoga is better than 10 minutes of sitting when 30 minutes of cardio sounds impossible. Changing my clothes is good when a whole shower is impossible. Standing on the porch for a few minutes is worth it after being in the house for three straight days because I don’t have the energy to go anywhere.
Anything worth doing is worth doing poorly… because doing it poorly is better than not doing it.
someone please hit me over the head with this post every day for like the next week thanks. a mention, a reblog with text, a message, something.
You must understand that perfectionism isn’t striving for excellence, it’s a crippling fear of being flawed and therefore worth abandonment or punishment. It’s a kind of psychological avoidance. You’re avoiding fear and failure , not embracing the thing you want to do bc if it was about the thing you want to do you’d be fine with partial victory.
HUGH JACKMAN as GEORGE HARDY in THE SHEEP DETECTIVES (2026)
dude this is the playful rudeness website, the fact that it's on this website is the social cue indicating that it's joking
nope 👎
actually if I can complain for a minute I think it's so rancid when people are like "uuuh what did you expect from the rudeness website lmaooo" or "uwu it's the piss on the poor website you can't expect anyone to actually read what you said" or "this is literallyyy the autism website" like okay??? your personal perception of tumblr dot com doesn't actually mean people can just speak to each other any which way and expect to never receive any pushback for being a rude ass bitch. christ. get some house training.

doubly funny that I saw a compilation of all the corporate accounts like "aw thanks elmo, we're doing well" meanwhile all the flesh and blood real human people are extremely not okay
Okay but Elmo had actually the best and sweetest response to all this trauma dumping:
And then all the other Sesame Street character accounts joined in:
And now I’m thinking maybe we’re gonna be okay… 💗
(Comment compilation from this Twitter)
I kinda feel for the poor person running Elmo's Twitter.
"So, boss... I may have messed up."
"What did you do, Ray?"
"Well, I made a post for Elmo saying 'Hi, how's everybody doing?'"
"I mean, that's kind of what we pay you for."
"Yeah, but.... <sigh> it turns out pretty much everyone is hanging on by a thread, badly enough that they needed to tell Elmo."
"Oh."
"God help me, boss, I think Elmo needs to be there for them."
"Get the others."
this is the energy that jim henson would be proud of.
and important addition

TOM HOLLAND as PETER PARKER Spider-Man: Brand New Day (2026)
Hey, we’re in line for some absurd temperatures here in the southwest this week. This is very important to know and keep in mind. Be safe, stay hydrated, stay out of the sun as much as you can.
For my fellow Europeans south of us who are currently suffering from extreme heat. Stay safe!
I’d also like to add this
Additional you can also put them on your palms, also, make sure to always use a light towel or kitchen paper and don’t put the ice bags directly onto your skin!

I really need to update this bio because it’s 4 YEARS OLD and I need to draw more of him in general, but I feel like this still serves as a decent ref for Creole, Bruce’s very good friend who’s often the voice of reason and someone he can talk to and confide in when he needs to. Creole is human-sized. In his main mer form and human/half human form he is a 5’9 Creole works at a restaurant as a waiter when in his mer form, and also likes to run a tiki bar when in human form. He knows a lot more about humans than Bruce does, mainly because he can actually leave the ocean and poor Bruce cannot (he can form legs but they don’t work well). Creole loves to read about pretty much anything, he also plays the ukulele. Because he has such an approachable personality, most people quickly feel like they can talk to him like an old friend, and it also helps that he often gives good advice and is good at listening.
Bruce helped Creole break free from a fishing net. I keep bouncing back and forth between the idea of him finding him captured on a fisherman’s ship and helping freeing him from some jerky fishermen, or simply finding him very badly tangled up in one and helping him get free by using his trusty sharp teefs. Either way, Bruce seems to have a thing for saving people… Which is SO WEIRD. It’s almost like he’s a big’ol softy or something… PFFFT! As if! Here’s some extra art done of Creole by some amazing artists!
These both were drawn by Sketchy-laiAdopts . I had gotten him as an adopt and ended up pairing him with Bruce! And here’s some commissioned art I got of him made by SketchyRae!
Okay I think that’s it for now haha. Trying to introduce most of my characters! There’s a lot…
