heylo! dumbie here to answer this since sans,,, doesn’t really know much about the void. well, he lives there, but he doesn’t know anything that could explain this well.

the void here- it makes him reeal melty. he, unlike [spoilers], was not affected face-wise when he interacted with [spoilers]. Though- the void does still take a toll on his face, unlike the incident that happened beforehand. Before being transferred to the void, nothing came in contact with his face. So it’s reacting differently than the rest of his body. Which is why his torso, legs, arms and all that aren’t exactly “melty” but instead drifting around a bit more. This is also why is his face isn’t dark grey or black.

Hope this cleared some stuff up, russ ^v^

if you want what sans’ answer would be, it’d just be: “‘dunno. probably some void stuff.” which uh. wouldn’t answer things well ;;=v=
