I personally think Peachy and Ren's relationship really develop when Ren let's Peachy go during the events of BTD2 during the you helped Ren route. I have an like au were Ren goes to therapy for what had happened to him afterwards, does it help? Maybe, maybe not he still feels sad about Strade dying and still wanting Peachy to love him no matter what, meaning if he hurts him.

It's horrible to think that Ren may have been groomed countless times in his life, especially when he left the orphanage for fear of his Beast-kin characteristics being revealed, deciding to try life on the streets with little maturity and finding older partners, having to go through degrading situations with his body offered and earning resources in exchange, shaping a weakened mind that believes love is pure survival.

I think that's why he easily becomes attached to older men, like Strade or Lawrence. Not only because of sexual attraction, but also because he seeks authority figures or protection, rooted in learned survival mechanisms.

And this is why I heavily relate to Ren not just because of the abuse he faced but because he was most likely groomed as a child. Even in his adult years I still feel like he seeks these kinds of men for validation and "protection" even though they end up hurting him in the end. After Ren's abuse and grooming I feel like he has attachment anxiety due to how in BTD 2 he chains MC up and collars them so they can't leave him. Originally if MC hadn't interacted with Ren and Lawrence, I feel like Ren would have done the same thing to Lawrence.
