Hey, as a general piece of advice: never borrow something you can't replace. This goes both ways.
If you borrow something and you break it, that's on you to get the owner of the thing a new one. Like that's the common decency least you can do kind of thing, you animal. If you couldn't replace the thing, don't ask to borrow it.
If someone wants to borrow something you have that's irreplaceable, and they fuck up and lose/ruin/break it, that's kind of on you too. If you hear "hey mind if I borrow this?" understand it as "hey are you ok with the possibility that this is the last time you see this item in one piece?" and that it's 100% ok to just say "no, that one's precious to me" or "no, that's my only one and I'll need it later." Like if it's irreplaceable, the person borrowing needs to hear that before something bad happens.
Letztendlich hast du einen Menschen verloren, der dich über alles geliebt hat, während ich jemanden verloren habe, der mich nie geliebt hat.
Change is inevitable. No matter if it’s good or bad, change is one of the few things in life you can always rely on. Don’t fear it, but feel reassured - you won’t live the same life all along.
