The new Odyssey adaptation has inevitably gotten people talking about a Muppet version of it, and they’re frequently suggesting Kermit as Odysseus, Miss Piggy as Penelope.

I’m sorry but that’s thinking way too small, hear me out:

We need to have Miss Piggy as Odysseus, and Kermit as Penelope.

Think about it… who’s the more fickle, prideful, warlike one in that relationship? Who is absolutely ready to go ham, at a moment’s notice?

pop health science is so annoying bc it'll be like "did you know? eating strawberries will give you mega cancer" and you're like pfft whatever begone influencer. but sometimes then you'll see a reasonably credible article like "Study Shows Possible Link Between Strawberries and Mega Cancer" and you're not usually the type to follow that kind of thing religiously but idk maybe you should consider not eating strawberries? but then there's another article saying "Strawberry/Mega Cancer Study Debunked" and it turns out the original study had a sample size of 3 and was funded by Big Blueberry, and strawberries may have a small connection to mega cancer but only if you are genetically predisposed to mega cancer and eat 50 strawberries every day. so you return to your strawberry eating life. but whenever you eat strawberries in public someone tells you about the mega cancer.

I've got a lot of (negative) opinions about the Avatar Aang movie, but by far the biggest frustration I have is how thoroughly dirty they did Katara.

She's entirely reduced to the role of "Girlfriend" and is barely even allowed to get rightfully pissed at Aang or even the villain(s) of the movie for their behaviour. Half of her scenes are just hugging Aang and going "I'm so glad you're OK!" What the fuck? Get mad!!! Hold a grudge!!!!! This isn't you!!!!!!!!

Anyway. Bad movie 😔 90% of their concepts they stole from Legend of Korra (and executed worse) and the rest were extremely dropped balls. I'm real sad.

Absolutely GORGEOUS visuals, though. Beautiful animation, undeniably.

One of my favourite bits in fma is how during the final arc they bring up why attempting human stransmutation is forbidden, as the readers we've seen what happens when an attempt fails with Ed and Al, so of course the logical explanation is that "it's too dangerous to attempt", or even "it goes against the natural way the world works, it's monstruous in nature and impossible".

But then Arakawa in her infinite wisdom as a writer goes, lol no, the goverment has been making flesh monsters with human transmutations in secret for years, they forbid it so that nobody can't even come close to attempting to create a personal army that cannot feel pain
