A Nuka-World Honeymoon Part Two: The Galactic Zone
Pairing: Paladin Danse (Fallout) and Reader (Marriage)
Word Count: 1606
[PART ONE]
The third day started with a very simple morning routine, the operators were still acting like generous hosts for whatever caps they got from Porter Gage. With you and Danse being fully settled in and already explored the first attraction which was Nuka-Town USA you moved towards the other parts of the park.
“We’ll save the best for last.” You replied to a previous point in your conversation about going to Vault-Tec: Among the Stars attraction. You held a map of the park in your hands as you went through the bridge separating the areas.
“What about the technology left there?” Danse asked, his arms crossed. That was obviously the only thing he cared about, even on his days off he was still only interested in extracting technology from the old world.
“We have all day, hon. I doubt It’ll run away if we focus on enjoying ourselves for a couple of minutes.” You looked at your partner who was now completely perplexed on how you could stay so calm when a thing so useful for the mission was right there in front of you.
You reached Galactic Zone which entrance was signaled by a bunch of planets and rockets in front of you as well as a large sign spelling NUKA-GALAXY, passing through it you finally reached the part of the park you had planned on touring today.
The first attraction you entered was Starport Nuka which was a museum based on the military technology, or at least it was one prewar. Now it was just a complete ruin.
Your hand gently traced alongside one of the broken displays a bittersweet smile on your face as you felt the rust of the metal under your fingertips.
“It looks great.” Danse said with a wide smile, he couldn’t complain about the current state of the building, after all he had nothing else to compare it to and the topic based on it was his favorite. His usual stoic expression was gone as he was actually enjoying himself. You didn’t care about the displays with weapons and tech anymore, all you could stare at was his smile and the way light reflected off his brown eyes. His cheeks raised upwards with the curve of his mouth. He reached into one of the displays and pulled out some kind of item starting to inspect it.
You sat down on the nearest surface and called him out. “You’re aware that in the old world you couldn’t touch the items, especially break them out of their enclosure.”
“The glass was already compromised, And I feel like Scribe Haylen would be very interested in inspecting this… item…” Danse pocketed whatever thing he found inside of the display then made his way towards you with a few quick steps.
“Other people would just send a postcard or buy a souvenir.” You grabbed his heavy calloused hand and Danse instinctively squeezed yours reassuringly. “But I’m sure she’ll love the gift.”
You stood in front of the display holding the power armor and stared at the model of heavy steel. The sight behind the window was a work of art. A flag hanging, under it a bunch of decorative rocks, and near it a dormant X-01 power armor unit.
You left Star Control and sat down on on the nearest bench, You pulled out a piece of mutfruit from your backpack and handed it to Danse, then pulled out another one for yourself. You put the piece of fruit into your mouth the sweet and slightly sour flavor exploded against your tongue with each chew. Danse wrapped his hand around you and pulled you closer to himself.
“I thought this whole honeymoon thing was a waste of time, but I’m actually enjoying my time with you,” The paladin said looking forward at the next attraction you’ll go to after you finish with your meal. “You know, I don’t mind where we are, as long as we’re in the mission together.”
“I know… I love you.” You smiled at him then took another bite of the fruit. “How are you adjusting?” You wiped the remains of the mutfruit juice from your husbands lips with your sleeve then planted a soft kiss on his cheek.
“To not having to do anything? Harder than I expected, I’m still looking for ways on how to help the Brotherhood even if we’re ‘resting’.” Danse brought his face closer to yours, your eyes locking with his as he leaned in closer and closer towards you, he put his lips on yours leaving a tender kiss on it which you could still feel after he stood up and started to stretch his legs.
You stepped in through the doors guiding you inside Starlight Interstellar Theater walking the messy hallways leading towards the main hall.
“We’re just in time for our viewing.” Danse said seeing the title of the showing which appeared on the screen which was missing a bunch of panels. He pushed one of the chairs back and guided you to it before sitting right next to you. The film was not that long, it wasn’t even a film. It was just a trailer playing on loop for the past 200 years. Your husband looked over at you wanting to see your reaction. “It was amazing, wasn’t it? I feel great about how much action it had.”
You knew that it wasn’t a full movie and just a bunch of short clips from it but you decided to not call him out on this. “Yup… Very good…” Before he could ask another question you deflected pointing to his own enjoyment over yours. “I’m glad you liked it, we should do this more often. With other movies preferably…” You looked over at the screen which looped the same trailer once more. Both of you stood up and started to make your way over to the kitchen area for some supplies. You stood there leaning over a table thinking of the ‘movie’ you just watched while Danse rummaged through some cabinets. One of the robot workers appeared in the doorway and scanned both of you.
“This area is employees only, please leave.” The protectron announced already preparing itself to kick you out back to the screening hall, before Danse could respond or grab his weapon you remembered what you could try to say to get the machine to leave you alone, or even help you out.
“We’re interns and the systems are taking a long time to update this week.” It was obviously a lie but it was a high risk high reward one. “We are… Doing a kitchen inspection, could you show us where you’re keeping all of your cooking supplies?” You added loudly with a gentle tone of voice so the protectron would take you as a threat. To which the robot started doing a kitchen tour and showed you where they kept all of the foods and drinks, you kept distracting the machine with an imaginary surprise inspection while Danse thrown the food supplies into a backpack.
After that was done you left the building and started to walk towards another attraction inside of the Galactic Zone.
“The movies back in the day used to be very different than this one, you know.” You continued to walk forward not bothering to look at the love of your life as he took the brand new information in.
“How were they then?” Danse responded with his eyebrows raised slightly wondering what you meant by the movies being different.
You thought on how to break it to him, to not ruin the fun he had today with the truth. “Well, for starters the screen was in one piece. Plus they were much longer, some even spanning few hours.”
“Hours you say? That’s pointless. Our mission is more important than spending hours watching movies, I prefer the current format.” Your husband paused still not realizing that the ‘current format’ was just a teaser. He then looked over at you a ghost of a smile on his face. “Most brotherhood soldiers take interest in saving the old worlds technology, not also the culture.”
The building of the Nuka-Galaxy rollercoaster was finally in front of you. You stepped closer to the display windows showing rockets and planets, your hand on Danses back as you guided him. Your hands dropping from the mans back and laying down on the windowsills in front of it.
“This is… Actually incredible.” You couldn’t pry your eyes from the breathtaking imaginary display of the space, finally having a closer look at how it could look in reality instead of what you saw in old books and papers. You moved over to the rollercoaster part, stepping on top of the track balancing on it as the carts were not functional. Both you and Danse walked through the large displays of space, meteorites, and UFOs.
The track ended abruptly as it was broken off, you jumped down to the ground with a soft oof sound which wasn’t too far and the paladin followed. “Guess we have to continue from the ground level.” You looked around at the massive displays of rockets and planets on the ceiling. “Danse.”
“Yes?”
“How do you think the rest of the team will react when we’re back?”
“Unsure. Maybe they’ll celebrate with us? Either way with us gone there’s two people less to help with the mission.”
You walked through the attraction until you finally looped back to the exit of the building.
“Are we finally going to head over to the Vault-Tec one?” Danse asked as the sunset beamed at him.
“Yes. Lets head there now.”
Authors Note: Recently I been really in the mood for writing so I'm gonna enjoy the lack of writing block while i still can. I'm also debating on picking up some of my old hobbies again. :D TYSM for reading, I hope you have an amazing [TIME OF DAY!!] <3
The Sickest Day! (Who Knew Staying at Home Could be THIS Cool!)
Characters: John Price (Call of Duty Modern Warfare) and his baby (you’re his baby (reader))
Relationships: John Price as a Dad/Father and Reader (Platonic Parent Offspring Relationship)
Word Count: 1293
Important Note: This is a Sick/Sniffle Fic, Reader Being Sick is Just For Context, Pure Comfort/Domestic Fluff.
It was close to 2am on the clock when you woke up feeling off. Yawning softly you clutched your favorite toy and stepped off your bed moving towards your parents bedroom. Slowly opening the door you stepped towards where your father, John Price, was sleeping and grabbed his hand and tried your best to wake him up.
“Daddy… I don’t feel so good…” You told him the second he opened his eyes, the man rubbed his face and turned on the lamp that stood on the bedside table right there next to him.
Price took one simple look at your face and put the back of his hand on your forehead to see how warm it was. “It’s fine, baby…” He let out a soft sigh and mumbled something to himself. “Come here…” Your father picked you up and gently placed you down on the bed right there between himself and his partner. Tucking you in then wrapping his arm around you he placed a gentle kiss on the top of your head. “You’ll feel a lot better in the morning, just rest, munchkin.”
The very next morning when you woke up you were still in Prices arms, he held you tightly against his side gently rubbing your back while texting someone on his phone. You looked at the clock which now said 9am, your perception of time wasn’t the most developed yet but you knew what that number meant. It meant that it was time for preschool but for some reason that didn’t happen and you were still laying there. John noticed you were awake and put his phone on the nightstand, he smiled softly pulling you even closer to himself. “Mornin’, sleepyhead…” He muttered placing you on top of his chest and giving you a very tight hug, before you could ask him about the current hour he added. “We’re taking a little break. Just you and me for the whole day… We call this ‘calling in sick’, pumpkin.” Price smiled softly, planted a kiss on the top of your head and asked. “Feeling a bit better today?”
You nodded shyly and tried your best to bury your face in his shirt to which he let out a huff of laughter and gently patted your head. “I- A little…” You replied then you decided to ask about this whole ‘calling in sick’ thing. “Does that mean we will stay home?”
Price stood up taking you with him ready to start his own day, he put on his slippers and started to walk towards the kitchen. “Exactly! We’ll stay home until you feel better, baby.” Your father entered the kitchen still holding you in his arms and made very dramatic noises and expressions that indicated he was searching for something hoping to make you laugh, without a warning he stopped and asked. “So, any ideas on what we should have for breakfast?”
“...Candy” You replied, it was the most obvious and most valid choice to make, you were testing the limits. If he let you stay home maybe he’ll let you do that as well.
“Kiddo, if we eat something like that for breakfast your mother will kill me!” He laughed out loud and put you on top of the kitchen island before acting like he was thinking very deeply. “How about something that’s sweet but also healthier for you than candy? Like those pancakes daddy makes that you really like… Hmm?” Price wasn’t waiting for a response he already started to pull out the ingredients.
Your father placed the bowl and all of the things needed on the kitchen island right next to you, you watched mesmerized as he put everything inside, eyeballing the measurements.
“Does my little cook want to help daddy with mixing?” He put the hand mixer inside of the bowl, when you grabbed it he placed his hand on top of yours to steady it and guide it so the contents of the bowl mix into a perfect batter instead of making a mess. After a few minutes of it he gently took the mixer out, pulled the attachments out and let you lick them clean then tossed them to the sink. He put all of the batter inside of a bottle so he can make the pancakes in different shapes, tossing the bowl to the sink very carelessly as well. He put the pan onto heat and began to fry the pancakes, he squeezed the bottle above it creating different shapes and images with his lack of artistic skills. Your portion was plated on your favorite plate themed after some cartoon you enjoyed watching non stop, after that Price let you pick out some of the toppings to add to your meal.
A while later you found yourself on the couch. Your father was taking a bit more space as he spread out all over it. You on the other hand were curled into a ball by his side, a blanket covering you two as you watched your show while narrating every little detail happening there. Price listened closely and blankly stared at you then the screen pretending he was enjoying this as much as you did, the truth was that he wasn’t, he was too old for watching cartoons like these. Not only that but something was annoying him in that specific show. He just didn’t know what.
Determined to let this end he sat up more straight and suggested another activity to do. “Hey, pumpkin. How about we build a pillow fort together? Would be super cool, we can make it as big as you want.”
And that was exactly what happened, both of you grabbed different pillows and blankets and started to turn the couch and the area around it into a pillow fort. You were pointlessly doing laps around the coffee table while your father did most of the work. The end results were truly a work of art, every single blanket, duvet, and pillow you owned was used in this project to make the best place ever. The part resting on the couch was supported by a foundation of decorative pillows, the extension part that surrounded the coffee table was supported by dining chairs, the coffee table itself, and even a broom for some reason.
“Is it ready now???” You asked probably for the hundred time in the past 15 minutes watching as the man worked on the last finishing touches.
John sighed and laughed quietly to himself, he took a step back to see how it looks like and nodded. “It is. We can go grab your toys now and test it out!” He picked you up super quickly bouncing you around in his arms as he started to walk towards your room to pick out a few toys to play with while in the pillow fort.
After everything has been picked out Price crouched down and crawled inside of the creation before peeking from in between the blankets with a grin. “Come on, kid! It’s super cozy here, you’re missing out!” And you entered right behind him inside was a very regular usual sight of a pillow fort except this one was massive. The man already started to crawl towards the couch portion of it, sitting down on the floor and leaning against it, you trailed right behind him and dropped right on top of him with an ‘oof’ sound. Your father gently picked you up and sat you down normally then set the toys you picked out in between you. Before you knew it evening arrived and your mother, Johns wife, returned back home from work. You didn’t even notice it until familiar laughter boomed from outside the fort. But the most important part? You felt 100% better.

Cutting the Gender Reveal Cake with Military Precision.
Pairing: Kyle “Gaz” Garrick X Reader (ESTABLISHED ROMANCE)
Additional Relationships: John Price & Reader (PLATONIC FATHER/OFFSPRING DYNAMICS)
Supporting Characters: John “Soap” MacTavish, Simon “Ghost” Riley
Word Count: 2040
Additional Info: Pregnant Reader (Gender Neutral)
Chatter filled up the backyard as final preparations for the event took place, your partner, Kyle “Gaz” Garrick, stood with a clipboard yelling at his friends Soap and Ghost who were currently setting up one of the banners. “More to the left… No, no, no, that’s too much left… Now you ruined the height completely!” The man sighed rubbing his hand against his face before checking off the banner form the list, he didn’t want to be the guy with a clipboard but he needed the party to be decent enough, after all it’s celebration of your love and you becoming parents.
“Gaz, put the clipboard down and help out!” Soap rumbled then fell down from the chair face first into the grass. The banner was not even in the slightest but at least it was in its correct spot.
Gaz then stepped off towards the table and made sure every single food item you ordered was there, after all he neither want to disappoint the guests with lack of snacks nor did he want to piss off a pregnant person craving an entire place of a very specific thing. Soap tried to reach into the plate of skewers and Kyle slapped his hand away.
When every part of the list was checked off he entered the house and brought you out to the backyard to check everything out. “What do you think, love?” His hand was gently rubbing your back, his eyes hopeful as he waited for your reaction.
“It’s lovely. Exactly what we planned.” You leaned in giving him a quick peck on the lips then started to explore the now transformed backyard.
Guests started to arrive one by one, each placing a gift on top of or near a table made specifically for this purpose. Each and every one came up to you and Gaz congratulating on the pregnancy, some with a handshake, some with a hug, some in other ways entirely. You mingled with some people just casually chatting and catching up with everyone. Moments later it was time for the first activity, people placing bets on the gender.
You and your partner grabbed themed items and started to give them away to guests, you held a plate of pink cupcakes and a bag full of pink accessories, Gaz did the same except his were blue, the guests could pick a cupcake and any item from the bags they wanted.
You came up to Ghost and asked which one he thinks it’ll be. “I don’t mind.” The masked man answered, he actually did not care about such things. Internally he was still happy about it.
“Come on, mate! You have to pick.” Kyle replied, seeing how Ghost still had a blank stare he pressed a blue cupcake into the mans hands and put a blue party hat onto him.
You went to the next person, Soap, asking the same exact question. Johnny being himself picked up both cupcakes thinking it was two different flavors he could try out and not you asking him to guess what gender your baby was, he then peeked into the bags, picked out all of his freebies, and returned to whatever he was doing just a second ago.
After asking each guest it was time for the last one before it was your turn, Price.
“Do you think its a boy or a girl?” You asked the man who was deep in thought for some reason, he was internally a mess since the pregnancy was first announced.
Price picked a blue cupcake and some blue themed accessories. “I’m hoping I’ll have a grandson. A little soldier to take care of.” Price looked so proud of himself, probably already imagining how good of a grandparent he’ll be.
“And if it’s a girl?” Gaz asked hearing the older man already ramble about all of the activities he already planned.
“Then I guess it’s fine, but I’d still prefer it to be a boy.” Price replied, putting his pin and party hat on.
You turned towards Kyle finally asking what was his opinion on this. “And you? Boy or girl?”
Gaz chuckled to himself and picked up a pink cupcake, instantly taking a bite out of it. “I’m sure it’s a girl…” After that you picked a cupcake based on your own guess.
When everyone picked out which team the chatter resumed but now its undertones had some rivalry. You stood by the table nursing a drink of your choice while talking about everything and nothing in particular with one of your friends, watching as Kyle chatted with other members of TF141. What caught your eye the most in their chatter was Soap, You watched him almost terrified and very confused as he inhaled the plate of skewers he was after since the morning. Was he even chewing? Certainly did not look like it. You overheard as Simon let him know to eat slower but Johnny just told him to mind his own business and continued. Price then asked what team Johnny was in as he noticed that the younger man was wearing both pink and blue items. Soap was completely speechless explaining that he didn’t know he would have to pick and thought it was freebies for attending the party.
It was finally time for the next activity, bingo. You had bingo cards themed after common gifts for those kinds of events, and passed them to other people, there was even a blank option where people could write their own predictions. After everyone got their own card and people with blank ones filled theirs you and Gaz stepped close to the gift table and started to unbox everything. Everyone was laughing and having fun drawing on their card with every item that was on their card. Some people even waved yelling which things were from them. The only person who wasn’t in that mood was Ghost. He was the type of person to completely wreck bingo nights at retirement homes as he was a very hardcore enthusiast of grandma hobbies so he was playing with 6 cards at the same time trying to be the one to win. When one of Kyles family members yelled bingo when they had one line done Simon almost broke his pencil in half. Same thing happened with the pattern.
Price looked at the stroller you unpacked and smiled widely “Oh look! That one’s from me! And…” He circled something on his card. “Bingo!”
Simon did not give up, instead he picked up more cards this time playing with 10 of them. After a moment he finally got a blackout on one of his cards and stood up so fast the chair tripped behind him. “BINGO!!!!!” He yelled out very dramatically, getting third place in the most low stakes backyard game of bingo. Ghost was looking so proud of himself and his entrance was so dramatic everyone started to laugh, not at him but at the situation.
“Alright, alright! Calm down!” Gaz yelled out bent in half from laughter seeing the usually reserved man so excited about winning a bingo game. When the masked man noticed he just brought attention to himself he put his usual emotionless shell back on and sat back down trying to make himself look invisible.
The next activity was tasting of baby foods, you had multiple jars filled with various meals. Participants needed to put on a blindfold and try their best to guess what kind of meal it was.
“Ready?” You asked the participants, finishing up with tying a blindfold onto Prices face and then pushing a plate towards everyone.
Kyle stepped towards the people participating and asked what they thought it was.
“Not sure… Tastes sweet though… Is this some kind of dessert?” One of your friends replied.
“It’s fruity, very fruity.” Another person added taking another bite. “I think I can taste some apples in it?”
“Yeah, it does have apples in it. Any final guesses?” Kyle asked whether someone else would want to place their bets, and someone did.
“Stage two blend: apples, bananas, and biscuits. Easy.” Price replied stretching in his chair looking completely unamused and bored. “I still remember everything from when you were little.” Even though he had a blindfold he looked straight at you.
You looked at the packaging and it indeed was what he said. “Uh… Alright next round!” You and Gaz passed next plates to the guests, this one was very easy and everyone guessed it was a carrot.
It was finally time for the last guess, the hardest ones.
Before anyone could place their guesses Price spoke out loud. “Stage 3. Shredded turkey and noodles with a veggie puree as a sauce.”
To say that everyone was stunned was an understatement, Gaz leaned towards you when the initial shock passed. “Is he being serious?”
“I think so…” You quickly composed yourself and thanked every participant. It was almost time for the most important activity during this entire event.
About 15 minutes later Gaz stepped behind you and pulled you into a hug, placing his hands on your stomach feeling the soft movement and kicking. “Do you need to sit down? Some water?” He asked planting a bunch of kisses on your cheek.
“I’m fine… Just… A bit tired… We should wrap up soon.” You looked up at your partner trying to reassure him but he wasn’t having it.
Kyle ran to the cooler and brought you some cold water then placed a chair behind you so you could sit. He ignored one of his friends who wanted to chat and instead ran inside the house bringing back some very comfortable slippers, kneeling in front of you and replacing your current shoes with them. “Better?” He asked not waiting for the response. “I’ll bring the cake out in a few minutes after this you can go back home.”
And as promised a few minutes later both Gaz and Soap were transporting the cake onto the table under the very crooked banner. You stood up and joined Gaz grabbing the knife with him and watched as everyone stood still, either recording and taking pictures of the moment or waiting to see whether they were right or not. The knife started to glide inside of the cake, Kyles steady hand making sure the cut was even and precise. You closed your eyes and took a deep breath lifting the cake up for everyone to see. It’s a boy, the frosting was blue. People started to cheer whether they were team boy or team girl, some were just quietly clapping, some were yelling and whistling, everyone was excited about it.
Kyle quickly dropped the piece of the cake onto a nearby plate then picked you up into his arms bridal style. He was gently spinning you around giving you a kiss after kiss on the lips. “A boy… We’ll be having a son…” He kissed your face a few more times and when he leaned back he was actually sobbing from happiness. “I love you so much…” Gaz added through another sob before trying his best to compose himself.
The party went very smoothly, just as you planned and expected. It was actually perfect.
About an hour or two passed since it finished, Gaz finished up with the cleaning and entered the house with the last paper plates watching as you rested watching some TV.
“Need anything?” The man yelled from the kitchen. “Any pregnancy cravings I should know about before stores close for the night?” He said with a teasing tone of voice, even if you couldn’t see him you could hear how he was smiling to himself saying this.
“Sleep probably. A lot of sleep…” You replied with a yawn, tired after the very long day. You got up from the couch and went for a quick shower, returning Gaz already had two plates of some leftovers from the party prepared for dinner which you ate chatting about various things. In the end in your shared bed Kyle pulled you close to himself and rubbed his chin on top of your head. After a few minutes you could hear his breathing start to steady as he finally fell asleep and you followed right after.
Authors Note: Because fathers day is approaching soon (as of me writing this) I decided why not put Gaz into the fatherly role during a gender reveal party. Outside of that I started to re post my works on AO3, I'll link it in my master list and info post some time after this fanfic is out. I'm kinda in the mood to start playing Project Zomboid again, i recently tried to recreate Price in Paralives and failed miserably... Anyway! Thank you so much for reading, I wish you an amazing [TIME OF DAY]!!

Somewhere in the past during one of your conversations with Simon he mentioned that he never went to a library.
“Wait… You never been inside of a library before? But you read all the time!” You asked the masked man who as usual wore a completely neutral expression.
“No, with what I have going on in my life I never had time.” Ghost responded to your question looking amused. A moment later he changed the topic to something else entirely when he realized he started to talk about his life.
You remember what he said and decided to change it, weeks later when you two decided to meet outside of work or just in passing you told him to meet you at a very specific address. Simon stepped out of his vehicle and looked at the not too large not to small either library building raising his eyebrow.
“A… Library…?” Ghost asked looking up and down at the place before moving his gaze towards you.
“You mentioned you never been to one so I decided that maybe you should finally change that, get some new books instead of rereading the same ones you always do.” You started to enter the library and motioned for him to follow you which he hesitantly did.
Inside of the library was as expected, bookshelves upon bookshelves filled to the brim with different kinds of literature, from classical through more modern ones. Simon entered right behind you and instantly focused on the environment very intensively. He was testing the waters of the foreign for him concept and place, after a moment his shoulders dropped as he finally relaxed realizing it is not as bad as he thought.
“It’s… Not what I expected.” Ghost admitted looking around once more probably already looking for something specific.
You simply nodded and went further into the building. “Glad you’re at least tolerating it, Si. Are you looking for anything specific? I can help you with looking.”
The now unmasked man pulled out his very outdated phone with a cracked screen and looked up a specific book he wanted to get recently. “Do you think they’ll have this one?”
“It’s always worth checking, if we can’t find it on our own we can simply ask someone who works here, do you remember the genre?” When he recited all the info on the book from memory you knew where the shelf was and guided him there, you were looking through the alphabetically sorted books but couldn’t find it there. You went to a librarian who tried to help Ghost find the book to no avail. They didn’t carry that specific title but before both of you got disappointed the worker recommended a similar book to it, one that could even be argued to be better than the one you originally tried to find.
When checking out the librarian asked for his library card which Simon obviously didn’t have so before he even thought about running away you reassured him. “You can just get a library card, not an issue.”
To which the man composed himself and turned towards the librarian. “I- I do not have a card, would there be a possibility for me to get one?” To which the librarian happily agreed, how could they not? After some paperwork and Simon having to very reluctantly put all of his data onto a sheet of paper he got his first ever library card. He stared at it like it was made out of gold, for him it was, he traced the piece of paper and actually smiled finally checking the book out.
The librarian stopped you two before you could leave and suggested something unexpected. “Actually. Before you go, we have a suggestions list if you still want that book you wanted earlier. You can write any title there and we might buy it.” They then handed the list to Simon who instantly wrote down the title of the book he was looking for, moments later he passed the list to you and you added a book you’d like to read to the list as well.
Two weeks later, a week before the due date Ghost asked whether or not you’d like to join him to give the book back which you did agree to. You entered the library he gave the book back and the librarian told him that they did buy the titles both of you requested. Simon instantly checked out the book he wanted in the first place almost vibrating with excitement, almost but not exactly as he as usual was completely emotionless on the outside.
Authors Note: Not gonna lie this was on my to do list for a WHILE now I planned and procrastinated this fanfiction for so long it's not funny and in the end i still managed to do it in one sitting D: I'd probably like to write some Johnny stuff soon but unsure what to start with. [PART TWO]
The sign hanging above the entrance to the area spelling “Nuka-World Transit Center” still stood in a decent condition after all those years, it seemed to grow larger and larger with each step you took towards the place, your hand intertwined with your now husbands, Paladin Danse who lead the way towards your destination. A honeymoon inside of the one and only Nuka-World amusement park and a whole week long vacation from the mission as a blessing and wedding gift from the Elder Arthur Maxson. The transit center a complete ruin as most things in this world but it was still completely 100% usable. Entering the underground area and coming up to the vehicle that will transport you Danse threw your small bags with little to no force inside of the Nuka-Express monorail, before you could enter after your husband he picked you up and carried you inside bridal style planting a kiss after kiss on your cheek putting you down on one of the uncomfortable chairs and walking towards the controls forcing the monorail to move forward towards your destination then sitting down right next to you his large arm wrapping around you as he sat down.
The drive to the place took around 10 minutes total or less, the monorails driving pretty fast towards your place of stay while a prerecorded tour guide from over 200 years ago explained each part of the park while you were driving by it.
“What would you be the most excited about?” You looked over at your partner who placed his chin on your head and looked outside to window focusing on the monologue.
“World of refreshment. Or the galactic zone as it has technology from the old world.” Danse replied to your question before looking down at you wanting to ask what your favorite is to which you didn’t have a response just yet. You wanted to see all of the things the park had to offer first before coming to any conclusions. A voice cut through the tour guide welcoming the special couple to the park saying that he’ll meet them at the entrance. Danse wanted to stand up and do something with the raider on the other side of the intercom but you stopped him.
“Don’t worry, soldier, I paid a bit of caps for him to keep the rest of the raiders in line, give us a tour, and a place to stay at the best spot in the entire park.” Hearing this the man sat down but still looked ready to fight someone any second, the monorail came to a full stop.
Day one:
You followed Porter Gage from the gauntlet to what used to be Fizztop Grille which you were allowed to occupy as your honeymoon suite until the end of the week. The man fortunately didn’t force you to go through that and instead let you out using a nearby elevator. Reaching the center of Nuka-Town USA you rode the makeshift elevator upwards to the large building, a DIY balcony connected to the elevator, inside the bar area transformed into a living area. The bar was still perfectly functional, a large elevated bedroom area stood in the corner with view of the entire park, as well as a couple other things needed for quality of life. The day wasn’t too eventful as you not only got there later than expected but also wanted to settle and slow down for a change.
Day two:
Waking up with the sunrise peeking through one of the broken windows you felt a familiar weight settled against you pulling you closer and closer. Your husband, Danse, was slowly waking up used to having to wake up very early for his work, in his sleep he was still pulling you closer. One of the raiders from the operators entered the room carrying a deathclaw wellington placing it on the table and leaving, the dish was a luxurious steak made using deathclaw meat. It was pretty funny seeing a raider act like a generous host but operators would do anything to get richer even if it meant making fools out of themselves for a few days. Sitting down by the table with your partner you looked at the good looking meal that stood alongside other meatless food options as well as cups of coffee, another rarity in the wasteland. Danse cut his portion with the very unusually clean utensils and took a slow large bite out of it.
“This is the best thing I ever had.” He announced making sure you also ate at least one of the meals prepared for you.
You picked one of the plates of your choice and took a bite, the flavors assaulted your taste buds with each chew, who knew raiders were actually decent at cooking? After the amazing breakfast you finally decided to start what you came here for which was the tour of the park. First you started with Nuka-Town USA entering the Nuka-Cade arcade you were hit with a strong smell of rusted metal from over 200 years ago, a smell you were used to by now as the wasteland wasn’t the prettiest place to stay at. You came up to the prize counter your hand tracing along the old glass as you inspected the prizes inside and the one that caught your eye was one of the old world teddy bears. Danse followed to where you were standing and crouched inspecting the toy and how many tickets he’d need to get it for you. He was already calculating everything with his usual military precision, while you already moved to another parts of the arcade he still stared at that stuffed animal. First game you came up to was one called “Atomic Rollers”. You turned the machine on and passed one of the balls to your husband, he took a deep breath and threw the ball trying to hit the center, failing miserably making both of you laugh out loud. Your own attempt at playing the game wasn’t better than his and quickly you moved to a completely different game. After trying out every single game at least once and then playing the rest of your favorites until you got bored you stepped up to the prize counter once more.
“I’m a couple tickets short for most of the prizes…” You looked over at Danse who was eyeing one of the weapons inside which was probably added to the prize pool by one of the raiders.
“It is quite expensive, don’t worry about it. At least we had fun.” Your husband replied with a smile planting a kiss on your cheek and dragging you to the exit, it was weird hearing that the Paladin knew what fun was in the first place.
When you left it was already getting dark which didn’t leave too much space for any other activities. Danse guided you towards Cappy’s Cafe holding a map in one of his hands, you entered the very well preserved venue and sat at one of the tables debating on what to have for dinner. Danse quickly ordered two bowls of 200 year old cereal (served dry, both due to milk being hard to come by and because people were uneducated on how it’s been eaten in the past) alongside some beverage that looked like it fit the meal.
While you were waiting for your order the paladin grabbed your hand and his voice dropped to a whisper. “You look beautiful tonight. I can’t take my eyes off you.” His hand gently stoked yours, smiling when he said it even though you heard it a bunch of times already.
“You say it every day…” You responded moving to be a bit closer, lean into his touch. The place full of raiders yelling about the most stupid things seemed to melt away around you with each breath you took.
“And I mean it every time.” Before he could add anything else someone called you to get your order.
Authors Note: I can't lie a Nuka-World Honeymoon sounds VERY interesting, apparently people in real life are also going on their honeymoons to amusement parks. I was very much obsessed with little details while writing this and had the map of Nuka-World opened the entire time. Thank you for reading, I hope you have an amazing [TIME OF DAY!]
Characters: Simon “Ghost” Riley (Call of Duty: Modern Warfare), Reader
Relationships: Ghost and Reader (Any Established Relationship)
Word Count: 645
The sun was slowly falling down behind the horizon as evening approached with each inch the moon climbed higher onto the sky, you were getting ready for dinner with no other than Lieutenant Simon “Ghost” Riley himself after he decided to go against all of his beliefs and invite you out. You left the warmth of the shower cabin into the coldness of the bathroom, normally the place was quite warm but after a shower the temperature around seemed to change, you quickly dried yourself and got ready for the occasion, not too extra not too casual either. After that you went to the place he invited you to, it was a regular rendezvous at a regular fast food place. If you could even call it a fast food place. Simon was standing outside in his best looking shirt fidgeting with his hands, he usually kept his emotions bottled inside but now he was actually nervous…? Both of you went inside and Ghost pulled the chair back from the table gesturing for you to sit.
“So how was your day?” You asked the man sitting on the opposite side of you who finally got snapped out of his thoughts, he was staring at the menu sheet in front of him pretending to read it.
“Fine.” He responded unsure what to say. “Yourself?” Ghost asked to which you responded with the usual polite ‘good, thanks for asking’.
When the waitstaff appeared you placed your simple orders and continued to awkwardly sit in silence. That was until you saw a movement of Ghosts arms, he was looking under the table focusing intensively before he asked. “Do you prefer to consume meals of sweeter or saltier undertones?”
“Where did that come from?” You answered with a smile tugging at your lips before replying with your preference.
Simon moved his hands once more looking down under the table before asking another question. “What is your opinion about this weeks meteorological conditions?”
You just blinked slowly wondering what was going on with him today. “You’re asking me how’s the weather? Si this isn’t really like you.” You gave him a dry chuckle before taking a sip of your drink which already been delivered to the table by this point. He looked a bit nervous shuffling something under the table once more and you finally decided to look, expecting anything but what you saw was something you never braced yourself for, he was holding a notebook in his lap and literal physical flashcards in his hands. Now frantically flipping through the pages and cards as he looked for an appropriate response to the detour you just created. The conversation was not going in a way he expected and was completely lost on what to say or do next, Simon picked up his glass of water and took a sip swallowing with a loud gulp as his hand shook ever so slightly.
“I’m making small talk.” Simon responded with fake confidence still thinking you haven’t noticed the items he was holding under the table.
You just shook your head and looked under the table once more. “Give me that LT.”
Something in him broke and he passed the items to you looking a bit dejected, browsing through the flashcards and notebook you saw he had the entire dinner planned out from start to finish, it was actually quite complex diving into different pathways based on your own responses, the only thing he didn’t expect was that you’ll catch him in the act.
“Si… You don’t need that when talking to me, just be yourself. Or don’t talk at all if you don’t want to.” A smile was tugging on your lips as you looked the man in the eyes.
The dinner continued normally, Simon did talk about what he actually wanted to talk about instead of having those artificial responses for everything.
Author Note: This was REALLY fun to write and I feel the need to write more silly short stories like those. I also saw the trailer for MW4 that came out today (as of me writing this note) which is kinda exciting, If they kill off any of my fav characters (ESPECIALLY PRICE) I will never emotionally recover from it. Hope you enjoyed the trailer for the new game as well! Thank you for reading, I wish you an amazing [TIME OF DAY!].
Relationships: King and Reader (Established Romantic Relationship)
Word Count: 883
You woke up to a loud screeching noise coming somewhere from the driveway of the house you occupied with King, your head instinctively dived towards where he usually slept so you could squeeze into him somehow to not hear that sound anymore. He wasn’t there so instead you covered your head with a pillow which didn’t help much. Leaving the bed you came up to the window, opening the blinds you noticed the now unmasked wrestler talking with some random person and right next to them was a car, a pretty old one based on how it looked and the sounds could’ve been explained by the age of the vehicle. You stepped into the kitchen and when the other person left, leaving only your partner there standing on the concrete who at the same time was basically salivating seeing the car, you left the house and came up to the man.
“Is this what I think it is...” You asked looking at the car, then at your partner, and at the car once again. “You got another car?”
The wrestler beamed with happiness his smile almost uncanny. “She’s pretty isn’t she?”
“It is, looks… very good.” You took a deep breath and finally asked him the question both of you been dreading. “Where are you going to put it? I thought you said we didn’t have any space for another car last week.”
Sweat poured down Kings face and body like a fountain when he finally answered. “Uh... Well… This one is a work in progress, I need to take it to the mechanic then I’ll figure out where to keep it… But don’t worry, I already have an idea!”
“And that idea of yours is?” You stepped closer to the car rubbing your hand on its hood feeling how different the material felt to touch compared to a modern car.
“I’ll get a new garage.” He paused looking at the garage that stood next to your home. “Or expand this one.”
The weeks that followed while the brand new old car was in the garage weren’t too eventful. You stayed at home while King attended to some magazine photo shoot, already done everything you wanted to do today (and even things you were procrastinating) there was nothing left to do than scroll on your phone. You shoot up from your seat as an advertisement for some kind of car meetup popped up on your feed, deciding to surprise your partner with it you got the tickets online and wondered when and how to tell him, in the end picking the best option which was to not tell him at all until you get there.
The day of the event arrived and under the excuse of a road trip and spending some time together you drove towards the place that hosted the event, the road wasn’t too bad as the weather was simply okay. No rain, snow, or anything unexpected appearing which made it great. King was half dancing to the music in his seat to make you laugh seeing your not so positive expression (which came from stress of planning this entire thing and wanting to see his reaction later on). Near the place where it happened you found a parking space and stopped there, grabbing your partners hand both of you moved towards where you been guiding.
“Plan on finally revealing what you prepared, cariño?” He laughed as your hand tugged his with determination, he could read you like an open book by this point.
You just shook your head with a soft smile and continued to walk without stopping. “You’ll see in a moment, patience…”
Kings hand dropped yours and just moments later he wrapped his arm around your shoulder pulling you close while still walking, he leaned into your ear and whispered. “Whatever it is… I’m happy as long as I’m with you…”
A soft smile crept to your face as you responded with a sentence in his native tongue. “Te amo.” The words very simple ‘I love you’ but they carried a lot of weight.
Entering the arena you scanned both of the tickets at the entrance and gave him a playful push inside. King was perplexed, he stood there physically unable to move as his brain struggled to catch up seeing all of those beautiful vehicles, shows, and people chatting around. After a moment his jaw dropped almost to the ground and his smile grew wider and wider, trying to say something, literally anything but his throat was completely dry and his vocal cords didn’t want to cooperate so instead the second he gained control of his movement he turned around towards you and picked you up effortlessly squeezing you so tight it was almost painful, your face plastered in kiss after kiss after kiss.
“Alright, alright! That’s enough!” You laughed out loud and tried to untangle yourself from his grip. “Go and have your fun.” You patted him on the back finally standing back on your feet and watching as he sprinted forwards. When King finally stopped he looked around and started to wave at you wanting you to follow.
And so you walked through the event hearing every single minor detail about everything he saw, his voice like music to your ears as he spoke.
Author Note: This is one of my King headcanons that hes REALLY into cars but it was a bit hard to write as I'm not much of a car person and don't have knowledge about it. TYSM for reading, I wish you an amazing [TIME OF DAY]!!
Relationships: Dad!Price and Daughter!Reader (platonic)
Word Count: 744
It was your perfect day, the day you were getting married to no other than your long term partner who you adored deeply but that wasn’t the current focus. You were sitting at the bridal suite finishing the final touches when your father John Price entered the bridal suite holding a bouquet of your favorite flowers. When Price saw you already in your full look, the stunning wedding dress he helped you pick months ago the one that hugged your body in all the good ways with the ideal weight that moved in elegance with every move, the perfect makeup that made your already perfect features show up even more, and the perfectly crafted hairstyle that tied the entire look together he gasped and dropped the flower composition to the floor. Tears were already threatening their escape from your fathers eyes as he took a few steps closer. “You look… You look perfect, kiddo…” He went in for a tight hug that still ensured nothing would be ruined for the ceremony.
When the makeup artist finished with the last bits and set everything in place you stood up and fixed your old mans tie before intertwining your arm with his as you practiced the walk for the last time. Price was grinning ear to ear walking around the room with you, tears actually falling down now, if he was this emotional how would he act during the actual ceremony? Each step coming with ease after months of practice, when you suggested he walks you down the aisle when delivering the wedding invitation both of you were a mess of emotions, the protective side of him screamed internally that he shouldn’t let you go but another side of him was very happy seeing his little girl all grown up now, getting married soon. On your tour around the room John picked up the flowers from the floor and handed them to you.
A while later you were actually standing at the entrance waiting for your moment, your fathers hand squeezing yours with a look of reassurance, you couldn’t read his mind but if you could he was probably thinking something along the lines of ‘Don’t worry, everything will be fine, I’m here for you, baby.’ The music you picked for this moment playing from inside the place as your bridesmaids pushed the door open, you and Price walking down the aisle towards your partner who looked stunning in what they were wearing, their attire which you were seeing for the first time ever as you decided to keep it a surprise and not see each other at all today due to not wanting to bring bad luck and a few other things neither of you cared about. Each step perfectly calculated as you came closer and closer to your soon to be spouse. When you reached your destination John gently pulled your veil up and gave you a tender kiss on the forehead like he usually did, placing your hand in your partners and blessing the marriage before heading to the front row with tears in his eyes. Who knew the very hardened stoic man like Price would cry during his daughters wedding?
During the wedding reception the first thing that happened after appetizers was taking pictures, with you having a million pictures done of yourself with your parents. Right after the actual dinner everyone gave toasts, obviously your father had to go into a very long monologue about how much he loves you, what you mean to him, and how proud he is of you for coming this far to while your eyes threatened to wipe the mascara off your eyes completely. After the first dance your spouse handed you over to Price and an old Frank Sinatra song started playing through the speakers. You moved slowly and gracefully swaying from side to side, the wedding dress flowing exactly as planned, Your hands placed on your fathers shoulders while he held your back gently and lovingly. He poured all of his love and affection into making sure that dance was memorable for you forever while you enjoyed yourself dancing with him not wanting this moment to end. But all good things must come to an end and when the song finished Price started to plant a million kisses on your face before very reluctantly letting go of you.
The wedding reception continued as it should, with everyone partying and celebrating your most important day.
Post Reading Author Note: Thank you for sticking until the end! At first I planned for the spouse to be no other than Johnny MacTavish himself which in the end I decided to make them an unnamed gender neutral character, but with that I actually do plan on writing a wedding story with Soap in the near future focusing on the romance part compared to this one which focuses on the parental aspects of the wedding with Price.
Relationships: Soap and Reader (Established Romantic Relationship (Marriage))
Word Count: 555
Sending your husband, Johnny, to the store was probably the worst mistake you could’ve made today but he was passing the store on his way back from work anyway, you just needed one singular thing. All that you asked him to get was milk as you needed it to make waffles. How hard was it? It was just milk, you even sent him a reminder when he reached the store. To your surprise and complete horror instead of groceries you saw Soap taking a bunch of boxes from the car, knowing how his brain worked sometimes you ran out of the house to the driveway to see what mess he got into today. “Johnny… What did you get this time…?” You asked, your emotions a chaotic mess as you looked at the boxes he was holding.
“I got us a pool!” Johnny explained proudly, showing off all of his purchases. “Look babe, I even got us an inflatable dolphin, how fun is that!” He felt your disappointed expression drilling a hole in him and his smile dropped. “I even have pool noodles in the car… They were all on sale…”
“It’s fine…” You mumbled rubbing the bridge of your nose. “Where did you even get those? I don’t think they’re selling pool supplies yet, especially on sale.” You questioned wondering how much of a detour he had to take to get them.
“The sport store…” MacTavish answered looking like a kicked puppy “Do you want me to return them…?” The sporting goods store, of course. Instead of visiting the grocery store like you asked he went there. But Johnny actually looked like he felt bad for his actions and wanted to make it up to you somehow.
“Its fine, I know this is not your fault.” You said kissing his cheek and helping him to bring everything in. “Oh by the way, you forgot milk so no waffles for dinner today.” You mentioned in passing and the man looked heartbroken hearing that there will be no waffles for dinner like he requested some time ago. “And please, promise me that you’ll actually use your pool supplies instead of letting them collect dust” To which your husband nodded with a loud ‘aye’.
The next day early in the morning you woke up to Soap already gone, not in the bed or the bathroom that connected to it. Instead you heard the kitchen sink running downstairs, was he doing the dishes to make up for the pool situation yesterday even though you owned a dishwasher? Either way you weren’t angry at him whatsoever and decided to check out what he was currently doing. First you noticed that there was a hose connected to the kitchen sink following it you realized that downstairs was a complete disaster zone with the living room being filled with every single pool related thing he bought yesterday, in the middle of it instead of the coffee table sat the pool he got yesterday which was already filling up with the kitchen sink water. But the funniest thing in this entire situation was Johnny who was trying to swim laps around the shallow water of the tiny pool, wearing his usual swimming attire, googles, and a snorkel while clenching the inflatable dolphin and a pool noodle. They weren’t unused just like you asked.
Author Note: One of my head canons is that I think that if Johnny was an animal he would be a weird mix of a golden retriever and an orange cat… A bit mischaracterizing but fun at the same time. Thank you for reading, I hope you have an amazing [TIME OF DAY]!
Characters: Paladin Danse (Fallout), Reader (Who Can be Anyone Whether a Self Insert, Sole Survivor, an OC, or an Already Existing Character)
Relationships: Danse x Reader (Established Romantic Relationship)
Word Count: 851
The evening sky grew darker and darker as the hour on your Pip-Boy started to creep closer to midnight with each passing second. You and Danse have been sent on some kind of patrol in the area after hearing there was a group of synths spotted in that place a while ago, obviously you found nothing in that place but it was still worth checking out. Realizing neither of you had anything you could use to call someone to pick you up from that place and radio signal not being the strongest in that area you started to walk towards the nearest brotherhood outpost a few hours ago. Danse, the very stoic person seemed to be in an usually happy mood, joking around and playing games with you as you walked, just like he had something planned for later. “It’s getting dark, we should find shelter soon.” Danse said, pointing out the obvious. He grabbed you by your arm and checked the map on the device that was currently strapped to it to see whether you’re close to the nearest base.
“Heard there’s a radstorm brewing for tonight… and I’m already out of RadAway…” You managed to wiggle your hand out of his power armors hand and checked the map yourself, a Red Rocket station was nearby just in case and that’s where you decided to start heading instead.
“You need to start considering how many supplies to pack for missions.” His face showed complete neutrality as he usually tended to be while he replied to your comment about running out of RadAway.
Entering the station you were greeted with a pretty pleasant surprise, the place wasn’t in too bad of a shape, the Nuka-Cola vending machine seemed to still have a bottle left, and somebody already used it as a shelter judging by some blankets spread on the floor behind the register. “Looks fine enough to me.” You looked around the place and tried to kick the vending machine to dispense the last drink. “I’ll go contact Maxson, tell him that we’ll be back later than the estimate.” And with that you left the building onto the cold night air. It was already dark, the stars were shining and the moon illuminated the usually dark area. After sending a message to the elder you leaned against the wall of the building just watching the sky, moments later your partner came out holding that soda you been trying to get just seconds ago, opening it for you and pocketing the cap. “Thanks… Would you like to stargaze before the storm?” You took a sip of the drink and laid down on the small patch of grass nearby, with Danse quickly following.
“The sky looks beautiful tonight, though not as beautiful as you.” The man said watching your reaction to those words, he was terrible at flirting but he was trying his best to throw a compliment or two whenever he was able to.
You let out a quick chuckle seeing as he felt pretty awkward after saying that. “Thank you… I must say you’re quite good looking yourself” You replied not even looking at him, just straight up into the night. “Look at that one.” You pointed at one of the stars then looked at him and he looked back at you with a soft smile raising his cheeks upwards. The paladin reached out and wrapped his arm around you, pulling you closer to him. Everything around seemed to disappear as you focused only on this moment, with you two showing each other stars and clouds that looked interesting. With each passing second your partner seemed to grow more and more nervous, he sat up while picking up the bottle of Nuka-Cola and taking a very deep breath right after.
“Everything alright?” You sat straight up and looked at the man who wouldn’t even bother to try to look at you. “Danse… Talk to me.”
He took another very deep breath and braced himself for whatever he was about to say. “I’ve been thinking… You changed me… Each mission, each meal, each passing second we share makes me feel something I never felt before…” Danse finally looked at you with tears in his eyes. “Will you marry me…?” He asked hoping you won’t reject him, the fingers of his power armor crossing as he waited for the answer, instead of the answer you leaned in putting your lips against his. With the feeling of the kiss all the tension in his body evaporated in an instant, his metallic hand pressing against your head as he brought you closer to him. After a moment your kiss finally broken, with you separating looking at each other with affection, before the next kiss could happen you noticed a faint green glow in the sky.
“Radstorm… Come on.” You stood up, remembering to pick your drink from the ground and gesturing for him to follow, walking back inside of the Red Rocket building. Inside of it you shared a prepackaged meal from your backpack and fell asleep in each others arms on the makeshift bed.
Authors Note: I recently talked to a friend who told me that a story that's happening in a red rocket would be cool, so I wrote this. Thank you for reading! I hope you have an amazing [TIME OF DAY!]

It was a random Tuesday already after hours when Johnny barged into Prices place demanding to use his hard earned vacation days so he can visit his childhood house back in Scotland, with it being a nice summer weather every single person was begging to use their vacation days to go on holidays, even though they were understaffed at the moment after a bit of a back and forth the Captain reluctantly agreed to after which Soap basically teleported back home from excitement.
You came back home in the late evening to find your partner packing his bags with an uncontrolled sense of excitement, with a raised eyebrow you decided to ask, not hiding the amusement or playfulness in your voice. “Going somewhere or are we finally getting a divorce?”
The man noticed you finally realizing that he’s been so focused on this trip and so excited that he forgot to tell you entirely about the vacation you’ll be taking starting tomorrow. “Didn’t mention…” Johnny whispered his thick Scottish accent comforting to hear after the long day, he scratched his head and then had an idea on how to turn his forgetfulness around.
“Well, hen, it’s a surprise! We’re going to visit me parents in Scotland for the week!” Your spouse announced excitedly showing that this time he managed to not break any of your things when putting them inside of the suitcase like he usually happened to do.
“You forgot to tell me? About your own trip?” You said seconds away from laughing out loud.
Realizing that you heard him admit to not remembering to let you know he let out a sigh looking like a sad puppy. “Aye…”
The next morning during breakfast you watched as Soap played with the bags and suitcases trying to fit all of them inside the cars trunk. Putting everything in, realizing one or two things won’t be fitting, taking everything out, and restarting once more. But you were wondering why so many bags? You’ll be staying there until the end of the week which was only 5 days, taking out the time to drive, settle in, and stop to use the bathroom and stretch your legs during the drive it would be much closer to 3 days. Moments later you watched as Johnny raged at the bags and just thrown everything in at the same time which seemed to work way better than whatever he was trying for the past hour, after which he came back home and instantly threw himself into your arms, wrapping himself around you and very dramatically gasping for air, he wasn’t tired just starved for your attention. You gently patted his his head with a smile which made him suddenly come back to life.
Somewhere around an hour and a half later Johnny parked his car at the gas station refilling his vehicle before sprinting to the bathroom, that man seriously never got his priorities straight, he could’ve went to the bathroom and came back to refill his car but he did the opposite and now he was running towards the building faster than an athlete. You entered the building exploring the small store inside picking out some foods and drinks for the rest of the drive, you found a small section with some prepackaged meals that did not require to be reheated, picking out a few sandwiches taking one of every single type they had to see if any of them were good. Then you reached for the drinks section, picking your favorite drinks one for you and one for Soap. Alongside the normal beverages you got you also picked out an ice cold energy drink for your husband who was already whining about being tired even though you reminded him to not stay up so late last night. Reaching the register he was already queued up to pay for the fuel he used to fill up his car, you showed what you picked to which he responded by showing you a box of chocolates he picked out for you looking like the proudest man ever, it was a small gesture but one that made you feel warmth inside.
Back on the road you noticed that he was eyeing the sandwich you were eating, he was actually staring more at the piece of bread than at the road, with a soft smile you asked. “Would you… Like a bite?” To which Soap agreed.
Bringing the half finished sandwich up to his lips he took a large bite and let out a ‘mmm’ sound while chewing, his face showed that he was very content at the moment. “I thought you’ll never ask…” He said with his mouth still full then added something else that you couldn’t make out.
“Johnny, swallow and only then speak. I can’t hear a word” you exclaimed before taking another bite of your sandwich.
You could hear the man quickly chewing before swallowing. “Water.” Was all he mumbled, and yeah you got him, that specific sandwich was drier than a desert. You picked up the drink you got him at the gas station moments ago unscrewed the lid and passed it to him and then watching as he finished the entire thing in one go. “Can you pass me another one?” Your spouse asked looking into the small plastic bag that held all your gas station purchases.
“Sandwich?” You asked just to be sure after watching him drink an entire water bottle in one go to which he nodded. Picking up the plastic container that included the simple meal opening it you placed a sandwich in Soaps hand. “Or would you like me to feed you like I did just moments ago?” You asked wanting to tease him a little, hearing that he had a hopeful expression before realizing you were messing with him.
But obviously your amazing day had to be ruined when you got stuck in a traffic jam for absolutely no apparent reason other than to annoy you, probably because everybody picked that very specific road to go to their destination clogging the entire thing, the estimated time to reach the place almost doubling by now. Because it took a while both of you decided to catch up on the latest episode of the show you were watching, almost every joke the characters on your phones screen made caused Johnny to explode in laughter, the loud slightly annoying sound that was like music to your ears. Even by the time you finished watching and discussing the plot your vehicle haven’t moved as much as the two of you hoped it to be, that was until you noticed something. “Hey, hon…”
Johnny perked up from his seat “Aye?” He looked over at you picking one of your hands up and planting a kiss on it. “Everything alright?”
“That exit on the right… Do you remember where it leads?” You asked pointing at that specific part of the road most of the drivers seemed to ignore.
Soap seemed to think about it, think about where that road was supposed to lead, he took it already a bunch of times in the past so it wasn’t much of an issue. “It’s some kind of a side road… Takes us to the city we’ll have to drive through later but its not as fast…” Realization dawned over him, seeing that It’ll probably take longer to sit here in traffic than to take a semi long detour he peeled off with a loud screech of tires driving through that exit and to no ones surprise it was completely empty.
Obviously the snacks that were supposed to last you the entire trip finished before you even reached the halfway mark, pausing your trip at yet another gas station. Even if you weren’t irritated in any way, after all its normal to get hungry or thirsty on a road trip your golden retriever of a husband still decided to apologize for leaving you hungry, he quickly ran to the gas station and minutes later came back with enough supplies to last an entire week, slipping back into the drivers seat he showed and narrated every single item he purchased before putting the bags into the back seat.
“Don’t you think its a bit excessive?” You asked not bothering to hide your smile watching his proud expression.
“I’d rather have more than to let ye starve again!” MacTavish defended himself trying to stuff one of the food items into your arms. “EAT!” He commanded starting to drive once more, you weren’t even hungry just pointed out that the bag with items from your previous shopping spree was already empty.
It was now evening, due to the frequency of your stops and traffic the drive was longer than it should be, you only had the last quarter of the road left but were already way past your estimated arrival time. “Should we just check into a motel?” You suggested already dying from boredom, nobody wanted to be stuck in a car and that way you could rest up, actually Johnny could rest up seeing as he was already tired of sitting behind the wheel aching to move around while yawning all at once.
“Almost there…” Soap said his leg bouncing up and down and fingers tapping the steering wheel in a predictable rhythm. You didn’t argue with him, you only had one hour maybe one and a half before you reached your destination.
Driving through a dirt road you finally parked the car on a large farm with an old house in the middle that was passed down through generations of the MacTavish family. Exiting onto the fresh air was different to what you been used to, the air felt more clean, having earthy undertones and the smell of farm animals which you grew used to at this point, a polar opposite of what you’ve been used to living in the city with your partner for so long. But for Johnny? It smelled like home.
Authors Note: Honestly I head cannoned Johnny as a person who grew up on a farm for a while now, might continue this story on how the trip actually looked like. TYSM for reading, I hope you have an amazing [TIME OF DAY]!
Characters: John Price (Call of Duty Modern Warfare) and his baby (you’re his baby (reader))
Relationships: John Price as a Dad/Father and Reader (Platonic Parent Offspring Relationship)
Word Count: 1069
Price pushed the cart forward trying to navigate the maze that the large home improvement store was, he already passed every single sign guiding him to where he was supposed to be as well as a bunch of employees. Even with that he still pushed forward and forward, as usual he didn’t want to ask for any help which probably had to do something with masculine pride. Inside of the empty cart sat you, looking at all of the items the store had to offer, what you definitely enjoyed the most was looking at all of those big fake rooms that they used for showcasing a bunch of furniture sets. You pointed at each and every one of them that looked interesting. “Daddy, look!” You moved closer to him and tugged on his shirt to which John smiled widely and stopped for a second to scan the living room set you showed him looking for any inspiration for his future house renovations.
“What do you like about it, baby?” Your father questioned wondering what caught your eye specifically.
To which you just replied. “It’s cool…” A very vague response as you couldn’t put a finger on what exactly looked so good in that set.
“Alright, whatever that means.” He said with a smile continuing to push the cart forward looking for that one specific thing.
He was a man on a mission and the mission was that you requested a dollhouse, being the type of man he was, also known as the most doting father in the entire universe Price has decided to get to work and make something special just for you. He didn’t want to just buy a plastic dollhouse that’ll break after 10 minutes of playing with it, he wanted to build it completely from the grounds up, something personal just for you that will be the best and most exciting thing to exist, and right now he was looking for pieces of wood to build it out of. “Where the hell is it… We already passed this part of the store.” John mumbled under his breath finally shoving pride deep into the pockets of his jeans and came up to one of the store workers asking for directions. It turns out that he did in fact already miss and pass it, multiple times. He whispered an awkward thank you and went towards where the store employee guided him, pushing the cart which you sat on alongside the concrete floor which bumps made the cart shake a little, making you giggle in the process.
Rows of shelves filled with different types of wooden boards and other kinds of wood seemed to stretch for infinity in your eyes, your father came up to the specific type of planks and boards and started picking them out according to the piece of paper he had. You came up to him and started to jump trying to see what he was holding, realizing that Price knelt next to you and showed what the page contained. For you it was just shapes and his unreadable handwriting but in reality it was a floor plan alongside measurements for every single thing, John pointed at each thing explaining what it was while answering every single question. “It’s missing a slide!” You exclaimed to which the man smiled.
“Don’t worry, munchkin, the slide will be here.” Price answered patting the specific part of the drawing with his pen. “It will have everything you could ever need.” He stood up and ruffled your hair picking the specific things he needed and putting them onto the cart.
When he finished packing all of the wood and placing it in the shape of a throne the man gently placed you on top of it snapping a picture with his phone deciding it would be a nice memory to keep. This time it was time to pick paint and a bunch of other things. You reached the section of the store where paint was at, which he remembered the placing of and could reach with his eyes closed as your inner artist hit the walls more times than he personally wanted to admit. Your father gently picked you up into his arms to which you responded by wrapping every single of your limbs around him, pointing at the different colors the store had available at the moment asking for your thoughts on each one. “How about this one?” John asked picking up a can of paint in your least favorite color, you shook your head with a frown on your face. “You don’t fancy this one? But it’s such a lovely color.” He grinned widely seeing your reaction which looked like it physically hurt to even look at that one. “Alright how about another one…” Price picked up another can this time the color was your favorite one at the moment to which you took the can from him and hugged it tightly like it was about to run away any second, that made him actually laugh out loud.
After picking up everything he needed for his project Price quickly paid at the register, throwing you over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes and walking back towards the car, buckling you up in the safety seat in the backseat of the car before starting to load everything that fit inside, and putting the rest on the top of the cars roof tying it as securely as possible hoping nothing will fall out during the drive, you only felt loud thuds of all the things hitting the cars roof wondering what was happening but not paying way too much attention to it.
Back home over the next few days John put all of his free time into making the dream of getting you the best dollhouse a reality, first building the frame and painting it adding tiny flooring and wallpapers, creating custom furniture (which failed spectacularly and he decided to just simply order it online), and adding a few other things he thought you may like making sure to not forget the slide you asked for. One day you noticed that your old man was vibrating with excitement. “I got a surprise for you!” Price said picking you up into his arms and running to your newly renovated playroom, against one of the walls stood the massive dollhouse with every single thing you could ever imagine and more.
Authors Note: Honestly I don't have much to say here besides the fact that imagining him spending nights designing and building a dollhouse is a pretty fun thought. Thanks for reading I hope you're having an amazing [TIME OF DAY]!
Relationships: Ghost and Reader (Any Established Relationship)
CW: Stalker Like Behavior Explained/Excused as Worry.
Word Count: 632
Ghost seemed to be pretty overprotective of you, every time you tried existing anywhere he was just there… Standing, watching from the distance like a stalker, like a hunter who’s waiting to catch its prey. It was very creepy but he didn’t mean it in a bad way, he didn’t actually mean to scare you in any way, he was just worried about anything that could’ve happened to you if he didn’t watch over you.
One day you were out with your friends catching up over lunch sitting on the outside parts of the cafe your group decided to visit until you noticed a figure in the distance. Here he was, Ghost standing next to a tree on the other side of the street just breathing, when he noticed you noticed him he quickly jumped behind said tree still watching. Every place you and your group visited he happened to appear somewhere, like a shadow just watching and doing nothing else, not entertaining himself in any way while keeping an eye open for any danger, he was actually just standing there without breaks this entire time.
After the day out you drove back to your place seeing the man following you home, holding his breath while driving his vehicle few cars behind your own. Only the second you reached your place did Simon decide to let out that breath he was holding. Going back to whatever place he was currently staying at. Finally fed up with Ghosts behavior you decided to call him out next time you see him.
“So, what is this all about?” You asked the second Lt opened the door, pushing past him inside.
Simon Raised an eyebrow behind his mask knowing what you meant but needing you to say it so he can deny it. “Elaborate.”
You put your hands on your face for a second letting out a sharp exhale. “The stalking? The fact that I see you literally everywhere I step a foot in!?”
“I have no idea what you’re talking about.” He mumbled under his breath, clenching his jaw like he usually did in these types of situations. You on the other hand didn’t respond and just gave him a look that screamed that you knew he was lying. “Fine, I might watch over you from time to time. It’s for a reason.” Simon stepped closer grabbing your hands and bringing them to your cheeks. “I’m just worried, nothing else” He paused then quietly added. “I can’t imagine anything bad happening to you, not now, not ever. Understood?” To which you nodded so he would loosen his grip on you, finally dropping it.
“Si, I don’t need a babysitter.” You said when he finally let you go, pacing around the room, to which the man didn’t answer and pretended like he did not hear you. “I’m being serious, Simon.” Barking out that made Ghost finally understand that you were serious, but he would never apologize, still talking about how you need it and he wont be able to sleep at night without knowing you were safe. After a long back and forth both of you left the conversation at that, this was probably the most honest conversation you ever had with him, even if it didn’t go according to the plan.
Next time you met up with your friends you noticed him watching you as usual, this time you just gave him a thumbs up, to which he pulled out his phone and texted you about how pretty your smile looks. Not minding your guardian angel in the form of a large man who believed his behavior was fully acceptable. Maybe one day you’ll choke on your words and take everything back when he turns out to be right, which he most likely won’t be.
Authors Note: I listened to "Every Breath You Take" by "The Police" (1983) on loop the entire time i wrote this. If you're reading this I hope you're having an amazing [TIME OF DAY]!!
