Never. His backstory is actually there rather than a sudden throw in character. That and he is tall and just.. that smirk tho. Blood Magic like umph.

Unoriginal and could of been done better. Blood magic, been there done that. He has nothing new to bring into the table. Being tall and having the ability to smirk aren’t rare traits. Just saying.

For us, he was all original.

A general who sacrificed his men to get to something he studied for ages. One who wanted to transform Arborea. The next Manahan, almost.

Blood magic has always been a part of the Lore, because it hadn’t been used as something huge. This was given the chance to be huge. Without Dakuryon, you would have never had Princess Syona or her mistake of a sister (Zolyn). You would have never had Timescape. You would have never had Northern Arun’s story- and possibly the history of Baldera.

While he could have been done better (more brutal, longer and more meaningful to the Lore), they did a marvelous job on him, imo. There was a new chapter to the Lore we hadn’t had revealed in ages. And to have this lead up to Lakan? It was needed.

I’m sorry but Zolyn is the only good character in the entire story arc. All he did was betray and kill the one who saved him and then went on to cause mass genocide and destruction cause he’s a power hungry unoriginal fuckboi who coughcough would give a shit about anyone. If Dakuryon hadn’t happened we could maybe idk had learned more about actual lore like the races and the gods? There’s a lot of unexplained interesting things. Just saying. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

To each their own on Zolyn, but betrayal is a common trope- and common tropes do not make bad characters. His want for Arborea was more than destruction. (Also, joking about rape isn’t cool.) Power hungry was a side affect of the shard. Going through, very little of anyone would be able to harness the power properly. He took it all in full. Of course it’ll drive you a little mad.

Dakuryon’s past actually opened up a bit of Lore if you’re willing to reach. If you need help with gaps you missed (that may be unexplained for you), I’m more than willing to help fill it. Fact is, Dakuryon’s character gave us more answer and more concepts we’ve not had.

Ya really want me to pull out receipts I see. The point of this post  to see who actually has good taste. Question, when did I mention rape in all of this? Also I’m sorry to say this but Dakuryon is a very weak character if he can get his ass handed to him by a party of 5. Your thirst for him doesn’t excuse his horrible character design. “Betrayal is a common trope” yea thats why I called him unoriginal. I do not need help from you, specially not you. also “zolyn was nothing without dakuryon”? im sorry did I miss a part of the game where they shared a relationship? no one needs dakuryon. He didnt own zolyn. in fact everything would of been great without him.

i’m so fucking tired. we keep dying in real life and on screen, that’s how much they hate us. we are getting murdered in our safe spaces and they don’t even let the friends of the injured donate blood. they tell trans people to pee in the bushes, they tell suicidal teens who watch themselves die on screen every other week to calm down. they literally fucking kill us and make us afraid of holding hands in public and then ask why we need pride when pride is still an act of bravery, because if we’re openly ourselves we are putting ourselves in danger
