[Continued from Here]
Of course, exploring locations where they had been called to never guaranteed to meet or not-meet someone specific. Still, Starfire had very much not expected to hear this voice, and immediately her energy charged up and she whirled around to light her surroundings and look for him.
Where was he? Was this only a transmission, or was he actually here? She wasn’t entirely sure what he was talking about - maybe something that each of the Titans was hearing or only she, it was hard to say as they had split up - but even so, Starfire knew what she would answer. “Nothing will crumble! It is all going well, and neither I nor my friends will fail at continuing!”
“Oh, dear child... You cannot possibly believe that. Not fully, that is...” His voice came from the darkness around her, and echoed among the various empty bins and desolate surroundings of this old factory. He waited a few moments longer before moving out of the shadows, and allowing her to see him fully. His armor shined in the low light, and that singular eye watched her with the slightest expression of arrogance.
He was always poised at the ready, either internally or outward, and always prepared to fight if these Titans dared to try and clash with him. Yet, he remained with his hands behind his back, seemingly relaxed, but it was all a ploy.
“Sooner or later, they’ll abandon you... Just like you all abandon your so-called ‘friends’... Terra saw it happening before her very eyes, and just as predicted it happened. You Titans only care about your little group of five... But you, specifically, Starfire... Your fate won’t be long with them. I can see it, now. They’ll turn on you, just the same. No one likes outsiders, after all, and beings from another planet count into that, sad to say...”
