Saltstraumen: The WorldтАЩs Largest Tidal Current тАв┬а┬аBod├╕,┬аNorway
Located in┬аBod├╕┬аin Nordland county, Norway, is the maelstrom, or, whirlpool, of Saltstraumen. Here, every six hours, you can see the effects of the world's┬аstrongest tidal current as 400 million cubic meters of salt water are forced through a 150 meter wide channel. Whirlpools up┬аto 10 meters in diameter and 5 meters in depth form for about 20 minutes as the tide flows both in and out of the strait, bringing in plenty of plankton and fish. This can all be seen from Saltstraumen bridge.
