Hi there!! I’m Shay (you may also know me as maumausie, my main account).

This is my other blog!! I’m mostly gonna post about writing, OCs, and probably some miscellaneous fandom stuff:)

Some quick trivia:

I’m 19 years old & use they/she/he pronouns (in order of preference), but I am chill with any set of pronouns you want to use for me.

I have been writing as a hobby for seven years now and my speciality is suspense/horror! (despite that, I am a huge wuss when it comes to horror media, which is a shame because I love it)

Everyone likens Stratt’s decision to send Grace into space to her own personal trolley problem, but the whole point of that hypothetical is that you don’t know any of the people you are saving/killing.

I raise you: Grace is Stratt’s Laika.

She knew that he was going to be on that shuttle the second that the explosion happened, but she decided to let him in from the cold, as one final kindness to the scientist who had endeared himself to her, anyway. She let him think he got a say. She got choked up as her Laika kicked and screamed and tried, fruitlessly, to escape his fate. She sent him up anyways.

You shouldn’t get attached to strays for a reason, but Eva let herself, and her Laika, pretend for a while.

In the end, she was not evil. She was a desperate woman with the weight of the world on her shoulders and the orders to fix it as quickly as possible.

Coltland Gentry AU where Grace is sent to outer space BEFORE the events of The Fall Guy and post The Gray Man.

Grace will never know that Court takes care of a little girl. Court will never be able to check up on him secretly ever again.

He doesn’t even realize what happened at first, because he’s too busy to watch the news. All he knows is that Ryland’s apartment has been empty for months. When he does, it’s hell on Earth. He very nearly murders Stratt, until she reminds him that if the beetles come back to her, they will be under her jurisdiction. If he ever wants to see whether his brother was okay up there, he had to leave her alive. He does so, but he makes it clear that if he is not informed the millisecond the beetles are back, she’s dead.

Colt still shows up on set every day, but everyone can tell that something’s off. He’s lost that devil-may-care attitude. He tells everyone who will listen (mostly Jody and Dan) about how much of a hero that his little brother was. Most people didn’t even know he had siblings.

There is no one to take care of him when he has his accident. He doesn’t have a way to contact Court. He completely shuts down, convinces himself that no one cares enough about him to take care of him like Ryland did. He ignored the calls from Jody. He knows that fall should’ve killed him, and deep down he kind of wanted it to kill him, too. What was the point of being one part of a whole when your other half is functionally dead?

If Matthew had not been with the Foundation for longer, the lead researcher role would've probably gone to Evangeline. She is the only one who rivals, and sometimes surpasses, his workaholism. She can be unpleasant to work with due to her intense personality, but even those who dislike her can admit that she is a fantastic researcher. A newer employee at the Research Department. She comes off as a bit of a ditz, or unsuited to research, but she is very efficient at keeping the records in tact and organized to the Boss's standards. Tropes: Manic Pixie Dream Girl/Quirky Girl, Liberal Californian

Grew up in Southern California to a single father. She has a huge fascination with cryptids and the like. She got a degree in library sciences, and worked in an academic institution, but was never able to shake her love for scary stories. This led her to the Foundation.

If nothing else, she's good at keeping the statements organized.

Extras/Trivia:

Her hair is brown and weirdly well-behaved. When asked about her hair routine, she shrugs and replies that she just shampoos and conditions every night. Everyone is at least a little envious.

Her eyes are brown, and very pretty to look at in the sunlight.

She is very sweet, but a little absentminded. It's a toss-up whether or not she's good in emotional situations. There's a good percentage of the time that she invertedly makes things worse (this is especially true when dealing with angry people)

Her Favorite Activity (tm) is theorizing about which cryptid could have conceivably caused an account. She also enjoys collecting pretty stones and bottle caps to put on her desk.

(this habit drives both Matthew and Evangeline nuts. She does not stop.)

She is also bisexual! She and Lenny bond over their similar romantic tastes, but they aren't very compatible romantically with each other.

Lennox “Lenny” Jones

The longest standing employee in the Research Department. In stark contrast to his boss, he's generally a sweetheart and really easy to talk to. However, he isn't always as focused as his coworkers. When it comes to getting statement-givers to open up, there's no one better, though.

Tropes: Dumb Muscle, low IQ high EQ, Good 'Ol Boy (without the racism)

Very charismatic by virtue of his natural friendliness, but he's overcompensating for how out-of-his-depth he feels in an academic institution. Believes in the supernatural, but is very casual about it.

Too perceptive for his own good. Too much trouble to bother firing.

Extras/Trivia:

His hair is a sun-bleached sort of blonde.

He has very dark brown eyes.

Despite how he presents himself, he is very street-smart and excellent at reading people. However, he cannot really draw any conclusions from information that is available to him

(i.e. he can know that their workplace's purpose is to collect accounts of fear by certain creatures or entities, and he can know that there are certain creatures or entities that exist solely to cause fear, but he can't connect the two.)

His Favorite Activity (tm) is fishing and/or hunting, closely followed by bugging Matthew.

Bisexual, but he "doesn't really worry about all that stuff". Self-describes as an ally. Allies do not make out with the same gender. Yes, even if it's "for the bit", Lennox.

The lead researcher. He’s a bit of an asshole according to his employees, but he’s passionate about his work and is pretty good at calming frightened statement-givers down. Character Tropes: The Square, The Cynic, Ivy League Asshole

Evangeline is his favorite employee, mostly because she is the most serious about her work. He's still somewhat fond of the others, though.
