hot take, all the sunny posters are ugly. like they’re genuinely SUPPOSED TO BE UGLY. people criticizing it for being ugly are so funny. look at the season 15 poster. it’s the worst thing i’ve ever seen. it absolutely would have been accused of being ai if released today

Season 18's Logline! (from Deadline):

In season 18, Charlie, Mac, Dennis (Howerton), Dee (Olson), and Frank (DeVito) are wrapped up in salvaging inheritances from a dead woman, surviving tent encampments and the great inside-outside divide between the haves and have-nots, withstanding job loss at the hands of workplace automation, embracing a newfound appreciation for neurodivergence, questioning the fabric of society against conspiracy theories, and of course — the biggest elephant in the room — outlasting the public’s pendulum swing against drinking. Not to mention battling nerds, LARPers, and a particularly petulant McPoyle clan at the Renaissance Faire or sportswashing their way back into the good graces of their community by sponsoring a Little League team. All the while trying to maintain order in their personal lives and at Paddy’s, which have become increasingly lawless and erratic.

Deadline claims the Season will air at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT on FXX, FX and Hulu. This seems to claim it will not only air on the West Coast simultaneously with the East coast, but that it will drop on Hulu at the same time as it airs on FX, which is very strange and doesn't seem correct.. but we shall see

i haven't spoken on the new sunny poster yet because i wasn't 100% sure it was ai so i wanted to reserve my opinions until i had some actual facts and not get into pointless internet discourse. i would have been really disappointed if it was ai, i don't think it's an "intentional choice" for it to look ai like people are saying. i am really relieved to know that it isn't ai, but i'm a bit disappointed that the sunny fandom has been so occupied arguing about the poster when the much more exciting piece of information is that sunny is coming out in one month!

i also don't get why people are saying that after seeing the poster they're not excited for s18, rcg really havent had anything to do with the marketing of sunny for several seasons so i don't know what the quality of s18 has to do with a promotional poster. yeah, i don't love the poster, my favs will always be the photoshoots even over artwork, and as someone who is studying media and works with cameras and photoshop regularly i feel like it would be faster and cheaper for the studio to create one of those than a bunch of 3D models? maybe i'm just really bad at blender and professionals can do it fast lol idk

anyway, i'm still super excited for s18, and no matter my opinions on the poster i am relieved they didn't use ai
