On Monday, Seth and I decided to do a re-run of the RSYC cruise (no. 209). I had missed the cruise altogether, and Seth had had a bad time of it because there was a lot of lag.
We set out for a cruise around the Azure Islands estate and, apart from one sim that did not allow us to enter, it was pretty smooth sailing in pleasant surroundings.
Although it was a short course, it provided some interesting challenges and some sailing in pretty tight corners (as you can see in the first photo). By the end of our cruise, Seth had his Ushu humming along and you can see in the last photo that he had the boat footing very nicely indeed.
We have done re-runs of past cruises occasionally before, but we have decided we will make a more regular event of it.

A big turnout for our special cruise which was complete with dancing and low-flying boats and a party afterwards at the club

Eddison to Warbunton - Devon Rex
After quite a long stopover, Eon and I set off from Eddison en route to Warburton to visit our friend Boone (if he happened to be around…). We had some trouble getting away and with some crossings, but otherwise a very pleasant run along the south coast of Gaeta continent. On arrival, we found that Boone was not around, but we had a nice chance to chill on board… just the two of us. These days we don’t often have a chance to sail together, so we made the most of it chatting after we arrived. Perhaps, Boone will turn up before we leave.
New toy. The WildWind RC44 is out. I like it. A lot. It is fast. It has low land impact, is easy to sail and stable on sim crossings. I think it is also a looker, although I would prefer plain sails. There are more sophisticated simulations now, but it is fun to sail and does the basics well. it is also sensibly priced.
I think I will be using it in the RSYC club cruises for all these reasons.
Testing out a new WildWind is always a bit of fun.
This one appeared in my notices unannounced, courtesy of corry and my membership of the WildWind group. It is an RC44 and appears to be a re-work of her earlier RCJ-44.
This one seems to be a beta and as you can see is marked as a demo. For the skipper there are three hiking positions on each side and the skipper’s avatar is weightbearing. It seems to be a bit crashy (although that could be my connection), the steering is twitchy and I would like more of a bow wave, but it is otherwise nice to sail and is certainly a good looker, like all of corry’s boats!
There is no indication of a release date, but here is something to look forward to!

Watchman to Eddison
A sou’wester blew up, so we set off from Watchman in ideal conditions after a very relaxing time there. As a result of all her scrubbing, Xsenia’s boat is in tip-top condition. Mine isn’t… Our voyage around the known world is taking its toll, so soon I am going to have to do some maintenance.
At first, our day conditions were mismatched, but soon night fell for us both and, among other things, we sailed past a beautiful aurora as we embarked on our easterly passage along the south coast of Corsica. We made good time, but struck trouble at about daybreak when we took the inland route on the south east side of Corsica. Unfortunately, the water became very shallow and there were a couple of physical barriers that necessitated the use of ‘edit’; something we had hoped to avoid. Even so, the south east coast looked no better so we made the best of it and made the crossing to Geata in beautiful conditions.
We decided to circumnavigate Geata south about and chose the inland channel on the south west coast looking for a place to anchor. There was a promising island at Eddison and Xsenia and I decided to check that out.
After an epic voyage, we found a nice little corner on Eddison to snuggle up, while we plan the next leg.

VI. Fungbulf to Watchman
So we sat around drinking with Jeffrey in the bar at Costa del Mar. No work was done (again). I did not feel great, so I left it to Xsenia to plan the next leg. She decided we would visit Quron, but that we would travel via the northern shore of Corsica.
The wind has continued to swing; fortunately to the south-west. There are several narrow channels on this leg and this will help us navigate.
Xsenia and I were up early, but there was no sign of Marty and Jeffrey. Nothing to do with the mimosas they had I’m sure… We made another early start and said a fond farewell to Costa del Mar. Conditions were good and we made reasonable time up to the Corsica north coast, but that is where our troubles began, thanks to narrow channels and discourteous ban lines and orbs. After various mishaps for us both, we struggled in to Quron’s place.
Our frustration with the latter part of the journey was so great that neither of us bothered to berth, but simply ran our boats ashore on a nice sandy beach. Only then could we relax a bit and turn our minds to the next leg and perhaps to some repairs and maintenance.

V. Triumphal YC to Costa del Mar, Fungbluff
The wind swung to the south, which was ideal in two ways. First, it blew Xsenia and Marty, who I had left behind at Wardroom, quickly and easily to join me. Second, it is the ideal wind for our passage north. With the wind right behind us, the boats will not travel too quickly in the confined waters and we will not have to tack through the very confined waters on this journey.
In the interim Xsenia and Marty have painted their boat, which really shows mine up now. I suppose I better get busy to freshen it up again. Our plan was to sail to Jeffrey’s marina at Costa del Mar in the western side of Corsica. We left Triumphal very early, but the sky quickly brightened. Jeffrey joined me and the four of us sailed along chatting happily from boat to boat.
The conditions were perfect for what was a long run and we made a pleasant transit with minimal difficulty. Jeffrey made us welcome in a snug berth at the marina and we quickly adjourned to the bar for mimosas or, for those of us who don’t like girly drinks, something stronger.
We have some planning to do for the next leg and I suppose I should drag myself away from the bar to paint the boat, while I have excellent marina facilities available…
The big sail of the Sweetpeas…
After a huge breakfast and some sugar for me, Jaspar woke up, and made his SweetPea ready for the huge leg, we would do today. The goal was the west-Nautilus passage up to Corsica, with the last stop for today at Fungbluf. Jeffrey, he has a really nice place up there, with a marina, invited us, and came along on the ride.
So we started with a bit delay at the TrYC further north. A very nice route, with sweet wind from the south, making things a lot easier. It was very pleasant that it turned early that day, after all the eastern land-wind.
The west-Nautilus passage is at some points really narrow, but if the Ushuaia can make it, it was no problem at all with the SweetPeas. Jasp knew the way, and thanks to the USB and a very good route, we made it in a pretty nice time.
We left the narrow waters, to more open water, big channels up north, and the scenery got better and better. If you think the Blake Sea is nice, you want to see these areas! Almost no “Mainland” to see, just very nice coastal areas. Perfect spot to start a journey into this part of the world would be the Gateway Marina. We saw Islands, Castles, it was mind blowing. Marty and I were both amazed by this area, and also were Jaspar and Jeff. We stayed in contact using the RainbowSails YC – Radio.
After a very long tour, we finally arrived at Fungbluf. Even though it is a bit hidden, is is a wonderful place. Jeff invited us for some Mimosas and we enjoyed some time together after we tuck up and in the boats nicely behind one another. The perfect place for spending some days of vacation, before we take on the next leg.

Two Peas in a Pot ...
Jasper started early the other day, and Marty and I took some days just for us. Next to some quality time with my man, I also used the moment to repaint and finally name our SweetPea. Now she is called “Little Fireman”.
On this morning, due to some conversations on the mobile with Jaspar, I decided to start the next leg, very pleasing I have to say with southern wind. Marty was still, snug as a bug in a rug, sleeping in the cabin, as the first breeze filled the sails and took us up north again.
The sun just came up, and painted the scenery into nice purple shades of light.
Wardroom became smaller and smaller behind the Little Fireman, and Triumphal was the goal to reach. The morningly wind freshened up a bit, and the water spray kept me awake. The waves and sounds of the sails and the mast, woke up my private fire fighter, so he crawled out of the sleeping bag and jumped into something not Adams costume like. Still yawning we sailed together the last part of this leg of the “around the World Tour”.
Triumphal was close, and I could feel his urge for a morning tea, and some real breakfast, just as my body craved something like that.
We set the boat ashore on the beach in Triumphal at the yacht club, and enjoyed our time together, waiting for Jaspar, because that was just the beginning today.

Fight, Sail, Love ...
Fight…
I use my blog to express myself, and also to cope with things that happen in my life. Some of you may have already read, that there is a new man in my life. But this special man is not just part of my SecondLife but also of my Real-life. Since we have long distance relationship, some things are taken more hard than they are for real, and we are still figuring everything out, getting used to each other, without getting used to each other.
Yesterday we had such a day, a tough nut, after some more tough weeks, and it was hard, but we managed, and we are in a really good place again. So far the excuse in my private real life.
Sail…
Today, to refill our batteries, we decided on a small sailing tour in the SweetPea. It is a nice and slow boat, for a lazy but amazing sailing experience. Marty was wearing most of the time his uniform, but that happens when your job is your calling I guess.
Our little cruise started in Vindar, at the RS Yacht Club, down to the south. In the middle of the way, Marty and I met my best friend Jaspar, at Snug Sea. He just came back from the test run for the new rainbowsails cruise, so we had a small but cheeky chat, before we parted, and sailed our ways.
So Marty’s and my way took us down to St.Martin, to the Rainbow Sails Power Boat Charter, where we had a nice time at their cute little beach, before we kept on sailing.
The end was getting down to the Butterfly Island, and to grab there a kayak for a nice and slow ride, along the rainforest together.
Love…
That plan, sailing together, spending all this time together worked, and in the end, we needed some snuggle time on the SweetPea. We talked about making it look like a fire-boat, a really old one, we will see what I can make out of it.
And about the love-part of this post, just imagine what happened after that snuggling …

Little boat ride
Not much to say here, but after the last update of the Ushuaia, I needed a texture pack, hence I was too lazy to open the texture pack included in the box … in the end all turned out great, plus Jaspar and I had an amazing day on the Blake Sea sailing.
That is what I call a second date!
That is what I call a second date!
What can I say, for our “second date” I decided to take Marty flying. Yah all of you who read my blog know, with flying I mean sailing, in my wonderful catamaran Dragon Touch II - a Flying Phantom Model.
Tho he is not quite acquainted with such a boat, it was partially a sailing lesson, but he got fast were to move, so we had not even one problem or heeling.
Fitting to that awesome, very “racy” date, because of the fast boat, I thought I will show you another great mesh up song, this one is originally about Kerala boat racing. I am a bit sad that I couldn’t find the lyrics, but I am sure, the music will speak for itself.
Out little tour took us all the way from Gale Nook, to Crows Nest and down to Syrens Isle, where we had a nice little break and chat. Afterwards back to Gale Nook, and some snuggling.
