I am delighted to finally announce the prompts and dates for Inhun Week: After Dark (Round 2)!

Some notes about prompts below the cut:

"Chains and whips, keys and knives" does not have to have all 4 to fill the prompt, any one of those would work

"Orgasm play" refers to all things orgasm: edging, denial, ruined/forced orgasm

silly side tangent but i myself do enjoy plenty of characters who did some irredeemable things. Asgore is my favorite Undertale character, for example- killing children is obviously an irredeemable act. but his conflict between committing a vile act like that to save his people from the underground, or doing nothing and allowing his people to suffer, their population stifled due to lack of resources, never to see the sun again... that's compelling.

mind you gihun was CLEARLY not in his right mind when killing daeho but only inhos mental state matters when it comes to his actions….

and i dont excuse how he treated his family and i admit he is flawed... but none of it is that simple or in any way comparable to the rape enabler that tormented him the entirety of season 2 and 3.

EXACTLY. like gihun has flaws, sure. But Inho is so much worse. and people forget that, probably because his victims arent shown on screen and inho woobifiers have no sense of object permanence. maybe if they remembered that the blood of every dead player is at least in part on Inho's hands, as he oversaw the games, then they would care. Saebyok, jiyeong, Ali, sangwoo... He put them in the position to make the choices that lead to their deaths. When an army general orders the deaths of a hundred civilians, does he not share as much of the blame if not more than the soldiers executing those orders? (or, a captain ordered by the general ilnam to order those deaths, in this allegory.)

He's the captain of the Squid game army and he doesnt care when his soldiers rape the fallen, or when his superiors (the VIPs) rape whoever they want. It's bullshit to me that Gihun leaving his daughter (to try and stop the games!), or Gihun killing daeho, is treated with the utmost gravity, yet Inho gets a pass because people choose to IMAGINE he was forced to be there even though there is no canon evidence for it.

It's absolutely fine to love Inho as a character. He's interesting, and that's the only metric which matters when judging a character. But I wish people wouldn't whitewash his crimes so they can feel better about liking a villain. If you like a villain, like him as the villain he is!!!

Making up scenarios where he isn't responsible for his own actions is just so boring to me. And being boring? that's a far worse crime for a fictional character than anything else.

gonna say this now: actually yeah gihun's intentions to prevent thousands of deaths of future victims of the squid games do in fact give him a pass on every morally questionable decision he made, especially his decision to prioritize ending the games instead of risking his chance to do that by participating in the riot. seong gihun did nothing wrong, except the things he did because of bad writing (aka killing daeho but sparing the finalists. that's all hdh, and that was just stupid even if killing daeho was kinda hot)

and yeah inho's work to perpetuate that vile system does overrule any claim to victimhood he might have had. if he had chosen to lift one finger to help gihun stop the mass murder of the poor, maybe then i would have sympathy, but he didn't. he let them all die, not even stopping the games to spare gihun in the end. he had far more opportunity to end the games than gihun did, if he wanted to. He would be putting himself at risk, but Gihun obviously risked more. at best Inho is a coward acting in the interest of his own self preservation, at worst he genuinely believes the games are worth perpetuating to rid the world of those he deems to be trash.

I ship inhun because i can enjoy imagining scenarios where inho got out of the cuck chair and literally did ANYTHING AT ALL to change the outcome, but canonically he was restrained by hdh's writing to be irredeemable and worse, irrelevant to the plot of s3 in a lot of ways where it would have been logical for him to act.

He was going to order a custom-made dollhouse, made of solid wood, with a real bed, windows to watch Gi-hun from various angles, a real staircase, and most importantly: a real walk-in closet, filled with custom-made clothes

Gi-hun has no strength or willpower beyond getting dressed. And he resists, he tries, but In-ho is so much bigger; any touch feels so strong and firm that he stiffens and lets himself be guided, afraid that any movement might break his arm, legs, or spine. Which results in Gi-hun wearing the most diverse outfits, looking like a real doll.

Gi-hun thought it was the height of humiliation, until he was placed in a beautiful display case. It was a large, rectangular music box with a mirror. Gi-hun was fixed in the center, the dolls around him spinning to a familiar melody he’d been hearing nonstop for the past few months. In-ho admires him for a while, delighted to see his new singer so perfect at the center of the dance. Of course, he’d thought about placing Gi-hun as a ballerina in another model, but he was afraid of crushing his small body, he was so fragile now.....

It took Gi-hun a few hours to sing. When exhaustion took over his body, the music hurt his ears, and the people spinning around him made him dizzy. He didn’t want to look at In-ho, but he sang loud enough to be heard

After that, Gi-hun was so embarrassed he didn’t want to look at him. But he accepted the water in a makeshift mini cup (which looked more like a jug to him) and small pieces of fruit and chocolate to satisfy his hunger
