So I might or may not have been offered a job in the Air Force for when I turn 18. Basically a friend of my moms and kinda my dads came over and since my dad likes to overshare about me and my mom was high af he knew a lot about me T-T BUT he came up to me when I left my room and introduced himself to me, apparently heโs been in the military for years and said that I should think about going into the Air Force and that id do really good there, plus they pay well and your collage is free after a few year, then he proceeded to tell me he had contacts if I wanted them and that when Iโm 18 if I ever want to joint the Air Force to like contact him and heโll give me like a bunch of good contacts. Idk how o feel abt this what do yall think?
I tried to get her daughter on the phone in order to yell at her for me but her daughter is on an international flight right now so Iโve gotta do it myself.

My favorite brand of people are musicians who hear Rush Fucking E, which isn't technically meant to be played by a human at all, and immediately picking up their instrument and going 'bet'.
Youโve got an intimate relationship with the things that can hurt you - theyโre familiar in the same way putting away laundry is. You donโt know when to cut people out of your life and you donโt know when youโre angry. In fact, youโre burning with resentment, anger, but you canโt figure out why and itโs on the backburner so often you forget that youโre even angry. Everyone tends to look past you and the more you think about it, the more you donโt care. You know you canโt be a burning star in everyoneโs life but you hate the idea that other people can be. Sometimes, itโs easier to put your phone down and pretend you donโt exist, pretend that staring at the wall will make it all better. It doesnโt.
Youโre in the center of arguing that has nothing to do with you. It feels like no matter where you go, conflict follows, like a curse. Whether you seek it out or not youโre not willing to admit, but itโs there, itโs there and you hate it. You donโt trust when your life goes without a bump for more than a few months, like youโre in the eye of a hurricane and the calm is going to break. You deserve better than that. You werenโt meant to be like that, you know, you arenโt designed for conflict like that. Conflict isnโt a peronsality trait and the sooner you realize that the sooner youโll be able to detach yourself from it - and you need to detach yourself from it. Itโs not normal to constantly react to things happening to you rather than act for yourself. Isnโt making bad decisions better than none at all? Itโll get you somewhere, at least. You arenโt a drifter - a drifter is for water, and you arenโt drowning. Not if you donโt let yourself.
-Why is that so accurate TT"

June 12, 2016. Putting a date on this for when it gets reblogged months from now by people who think the post is about something from 30, 40 years ago.
I am a survivor of the Pulse nightclub shooting, having grown up in Orlando and just turned 20 a month prior. If you didnโt know, there were several families who refused to claim the bodies of their relatives due to their sexuality. One family even had their relativeโs name removed from the memorial. Murdered by the same hate with which their families reject them in both life and death.
Many, many people celebrated Pulse. We were told we deserved it. That it was Godโs punishment for our sin of loving the same sex. We are sent messages like these I received in 2018:
We in the community often call the victim count 49+ to include the survivors who couldnโt live with the pain.
The event was never officially declared a hate crime or targeted homophobic attack and is rarely listed as one in databases.
At our vigils for those slaughtered, Extremist Christian groups showed up to protest, holding signs like this:
ID: Me kissing a woman I was casually seeing in front of an angry looking man with a โSodomy is Sinโ sign.
Please understand how much more than just a mass shooting this was. We are still to this day harassed and told we deserved it by some.
This year was the sixth anniversary. The first couple years I received dozens of messages checking in on me on 6/12. Year 5 got enough news coverage for people to think to reach out to me. This year it was my therapist, the woman I kissed in that photo, and a couple of other gun violence survivor friends. People are forgetting already.
