I feel like starfish are one of those animals that are treated as very “normal” by people but absolutely shouldn’t be. Like they’re a wheel of repeating heads connected by a central stomach. They walk around using thousands of tiny sticky hydraulically powered tentacles. They have an eye on the end of each arm. Instead of having a mouth they just have an opening where their entire stomach can be pushed out to engulf prey. And they’re just allowed to exist like this. It’s not illegal or anything.

basically a racist politician (farage) decided to quit and try to get re-elected in his constituency. so as not to entertain his idea, no other recognised party will be running a candidate in the by- election. however, our system allows independent candidates in ridiculous outfits to run for office - of which count binface is one. he is the only person who will be standing against farage in the coming Clacton by-election and given that when he first got in only 25% of the votes went to farage there's a good chance that the bin man wins.

building one affordable house

nationalising adele

capping the cost of 99 flakes at 99p

freezing the cost of kebab at £2

Probably an unpopular opinion but i think teenagers have it worse now than most generations did before then. We had malls. We had parks and libraries. There were spaces for them to be in when home-life was hell.

But now, on top of Covid still spreading, monthly live active shooter drills, being chased out of parks for loitering, malls shutting down because people don't have that kind of money anymore, libraries running out of funding. They're being treated worse than anyone else because they don't have rights.

And when they turn 18, have stunted social skills, no prospects in life, we're creating another generation of failed souls, And doomed by the social narrative that teens should neither be seen nor heard. We owe them more than this. You cannot neglect a seedling crop, only for you to plant them into the ground and expect the largest crop that you've ever seen.

Don't get me wrong, fuck facebook, twitter, and TikTok, but these social platforms are sadly the only places they have left. And even then, we need to think of a better way other than blocking teens from everything. Maybe a teen-only social platform or something? We're failing them at every direction.

things I’ve noticed in the UK:

- when you’re jay walking, cars will actively accelerate bc the drivers want to kill you for breaking the rules

- servers in restaurants act very scared and apologetic, so maybe people aren’t nice to them here??? or I could be terrifying

- it’s really cute when little kids have British accents, but I’m unmoved by adults with accents

- extremely good gluten free options. this country is like 20 years ahead of Canada in that regard

- people will give random insignificant buildings names with little plaques. and then that’s the name that shows up on the map. like even a smaller than average family home, you can name it like it’s a dog

- lots of brick and stone buildings. looks cute and charming until you enter one and there’s no air conditioning

- people are still wearing jaguar print. I like this. don’t let it die
