"i honestly don't know why people are so obsessed with true crime, it has been a thing for as long as i can remember. i think as we evolve, it just becomes more and more common, and i know that is a morbid thing to say, but it is just one theory i have."
"That's honestly pathetic if you ask me." She said and shook her head. "I can't stsand people that like to make a big thing out of such tragic events."
"You pick up on that pretty fast. Most people are honestly easier to read than they think but there are a fair few who are like locked cases." Ren replied and looked at her. "As for true crime… it has become a weird obsession for a lot of people. They seem to forget that what they're watching or reading about actually happened to someone. It can feel pretty disrespectful sometimes."
"Well when you have been through what I have been through, you tend to pick up on how people are." She said. "It can, I've seen a lot of people actually romanticize true crime, I don't know how they do it."
"Yeah, true crime is a really huge topic." Topper looked at Sloane. "Apparently people like to look into morbid stuff."
"Hmm, I understand people wanting answers to morbid crimes, and gruseome deaths, but more often than not, I hear people talk about the same cases over and over."
"I...I have nothing to say other than that people being obsessed with true crime has been a thing for many, many years now."
"That is beyond ridiculous." Sloane looked at Mateo. "Unless they're trying to dig up the truth of something, then I can see the point, but when it's the same story over and over again, it gets pathetic."
"People being obsessed with true crime has been a thing for as long as I can remember, I think it's just human nature."
"That's really morbid, and I went to school at a war college, where they trained us to be fighting machienes and the best of the best."
"Yeah, yeah, I'm fine." She promised Sloane with a smile and looked around and then at the other woman. "It's just...Manhattan is a whole different world from what Paris and even Massachusetts is."
"I get it, I really do, it's a vaslty different world than Navarre is." She ran a hand through her hair and looked at Grace. "And I mean that in the real way, not the figurative way."
"Those people that you think are easy to read are the most dangerous and can't be trusted with anything, not even a white lie about yourself." She told Sloane and added, "Yeah, true crime has grown a lot in popularity."
"There are some people I know better than others here, and they are easy to read." She shrugged and looked at Blair. "I never said I didn't tell a white lie or two, it's how I survived as long as I did. Is there a reason that true crime has become so popular?"
"Read more than others? Is that so, true crimes can be quite interesting, but to be obsessed with it is too much. I'd gone insane myself if I would have watched or read too much true crimes"
"Not in a bad way, I promise." Sloane looked at John Logan. "Though, the only people really read are those that I know well, like Imogen, Xaden, Garrick, but I grew up with them...well, sort of grew up with them." She shrugged. "I can read Violet and Rhiannon too, but being in the same squad as them, it does help." She said. "I mean, I'm used to that sort of stuff." She shrugged.
"Okay, this is...this is overwhelming." Grace said to herself with a laugh as she stood in Times Square. She was walking around the city and trying to get used to where she'd be living from now on. It was a change from Massachusettes to here, but change was something she was used to, and it wasn't something she couldn't handle.
Turning around as she saw something that caught her eyes, she ran into someone and took a step back. "I am so sorry." She apologized. @ggstarterblog
If there was one thing Sloane hated about living in Manhattan, it was how densley packed it was, she knew Basgiath was packed, but not like this. This place could fit all of Navarre if it wanted to, and some days, it felt like everyone from The Continet was there. She was walking around, in a hurry, and not paying attention to where she was going, when someone ran into her and she took several steps back.
She had to remind herself that she was not as Basgiath and was not in the middle of a war against Dark Weilders. She was in a new world, where she was somewhat safer. When she heard Grace's voice, she exhaled and looked at Grace. "You don't need to apologize." She promised her.
"Seriously, I should be asking you, are you okay?"
"I have not been here for that long, but I feel like some people are easier to read more than others. I've also learned that people are way too obsessed with true crime and it's kind of creepy." @ggstarterblog
