one genre of fanfiction that seems to have mostly disappeared since i became an adult is shenanigans-type fics. like not exactly crack but just "the gang goes to 7-11" type, extremely low-stakes plot stories. the beach episodes of fanfiction. i just feel like i don't see those around so much anymore. whered they go. i miss them :(

That you opened the window before you climbed into bed. That it was just a (really) bizarre dream brought on by the unfamiliarity and isolation of the cabin. That the solitude is getting to you and making you imagine these things.

But after you pour a cup of coffee for yourself and open the door to step out onto the porch, you freeze.

Your stomach twists.

A single flower sits in the center of the generic little welcome mat. It’s small and delicate, purple petals around a bright yellow center, and it’s laid in such a way that it looks deliberate. Someone put it there for you to find.

GUYS.

so i was at pride yesterday, wearing my ghost booty shorts (the ones with the skeleton hands cupping the ass) and all of a sudden this person comes up to me with a bunch of their friends and they're like "OMG I LOVE YOUR SHORTS!!!"

and so i say thank you, beaming obviously because it's so rare to find people who like ghost irl where i'm from, and THEN they're like "i'm wearing the SAME pair!!"

and so i look down and and BOOM. there they are. hands on the ass, logo on the front.

internally i am FREAKING OUT but am trying to play it cool and not be like "OMG WHOS YOUR FAVORITE PAPA WHATS YOUR FAVORITE ALBUM BLAH BLAH BLAH"

so instead i go "i got mine when i saw them in january!!" and they go "i got mine when i saw them in july!!"

the moment didn't last much longer than that because their friends were already moving in a different direction but as they were leaving i said "BYE GHESTIE!!" and they said "YES, BYE GHESTIE!!!"

whoever you are, wherever you may be, i will be adding this moment to my treasure box thanks to your decision to start a convo!
