I was just wondering… which one of the genavaelorlings do you think would pair well with the robbrennalings??? Children of each couple for clarification!!!

HEAR ME OUT, I know I haven't yapped about her much but their little baby Daenys and Rickard. Daenys is someone who actively strives for a good match for herself, and kind-of bends in her youth to believe that a man who comes from a good family is equivalent to he, himself being a good man. Blinded by the power, respect, and wealth.

She is ambitious, and though she eventually believes she can sacrifice dignity for that, (Her and her first husband do not have a great marriage. They scarcely see each other but for "coupling" and special events, where they make a beautiful couple, but not necessarily an honest one.) she ultimately cannot.

Initially, she ends up in bed with Loreon Lannister - who eventually becomes her second husband following her aid in a plot to murder her first husband - because of the same things that drew her to Lyonel, power, respect, and wealth. However, where with Lyonel these were things dangled in front of her to keep her in line, and hardly ever shared, with Loreon it's something that is shared between them.

Now, from the little I can gather about Rickard, he does appear to be more like her first husband. HOWEVER, with Daenys? Security is the most seductive, and... Lyonel didn't give her security by always being away from home, fighting at war. He didn't leave her with enough money to cloth their children, for Gods-sake! He took most of the coin with him to spend on bed-mates. He rubbed his infidelity in her face and before all, and he risked his life doing it.

That was unforgiveable.

Loreon wasn't running off into battle, and if he did, he wouldn't just take the entire treasury of Casterly Rock. He would not demean her with a public mistress, if anything, his affairs (of which, he had none) were kept private. There is safety to be found in maintaining dignity, of which she had none with Lyonel, and all of it with Loreon, and I don't think Rickard, having been raised by Cerenna Baratheon, would leave his wife without dignity.

He could have mistresses, if he kept them quiet. He could play at war, if he kept her and their children clothed in gold with assurance that the coin would not run dry with his death, and if he were cruel, she might indulge it as long as it was not against her or the children.

Not to mention, Daenys has a thing for rugged knights that also have a bit of tradition to them, and that's how Rickard reads to me? She'd be perfectly fine hopping on him even if she was married to someone else (in her defense, romance hardly fulfills her, but grace given towards her own person is a turn-on. If she gave him her favor during a tourney and he won and crowned her queen of love and beauty or something, she might actually melt.)

I can hear the second gif in a very suave voice. Speaking of which, what would be your voiceclaim for Vaelor Targaryen?

If it weren't also his faceclaim, Patrick Gibson, (because I've seen him in enough to know THAT MAN HAS RANGE *insert me telling you why to watch The OA here*) it'd probably be Louis Hofmann. Is he more well-known for originally German-speaking roles? Yes. But, oddly, in my brain that is my secondary dialogue for Vaelor. (Mind you, I know German primarily by ear, I can hear it and mentally understand bits and pieces, but I cannot trust myself to speak or write it whatsoever.)

Maybe it has to do with his role as Jonas in Dark, which is a character I see as (personality-wise) a Vaelor variant. His character in the short film A Small Cut also sounds very "Vaelor" to me, while the character itself is not at all like Vaelor (except for a few small looks that read very "Vaelor" to me.) and once more, that's in German.

There is one interview I've seen with him, where he's speaking English, and I can almost picture Vaelor, but for some odd reason it's when he's speaking German that I can close my eyes and SEE Vaelor. (Also, now that I've stared at him long enough Louis Hofmann is starting to morph with Ewan Mitchell in my brain 😭)

so in the event he was made heir to the iron throne, cerenna would be ON that (let's just pretend this is in some king rhaegar au or cerenna is isekaied into the dance era) . she'd love herself some vaelor... and I think she's similar enough to gena where vaelor would love her! until a certain point, that is.

she'd LOVE being queen/princess of dragonstone (even if that meant living on dragonstone), and she'd be giving vaelor political "advice" which would kind of be evil. you know how madame de pompadour was telling louis xv to fire all those competent ministers and replace them with her friends? yeah, it'd be like that. cerenna is VERY pro highborn despite presenting a charitable exterior to the smallfolk, and vaelor wouldn't really fuck with that in my mind, but why would he say anything against his beautiful wife/ideal dress form? I think cerenna would LOVE being showered in fine clothes and jewels, but she'd probably expect vaelor to give up dressmaking when he becomes king because it's "servant's work". I also think vaelor wouldn't really enjoy cerenna's self-absorption and would definitely work to give her that sensitivity training robb does, but he's not exactly firm enough to see it through.

however, I think vaelor definitely handles business when the time comes and tells her "cerenna, that's an insane thing to say", but he's quite gentle about it! cerenna thrives best when she can order people around, but she does LIVE for a rousing argument... so hmmm... she'd walk him like a dog, but at what cost...

Sabitha Baratheon (tiny lore drops without spoilers) pls!

Sabitha Baratheon is a character who appears in the second part of a story that as a whole begins with the tourney at Harrenhal, but otherwise takes place primarily during and a little after Robert's Robellion. The second part, where we first meet Sabitha, begins when Robert Baratheon and the royal household travel North to seek Ned Stark out as Hand of the King.

From what I have planned, (which is a VERY rough outline, mostly it's all in my head, since I'm focusing on other stories at the moment.) Sabitha and her younger sister Gwenys, (who may in fact be her half-sister.) have spent the majority of their lives in the Crownlands, scarcely ever seeing their mother as a result of her forfeiting her rights to them.

While Stannis and Helicent did not get along, he gets along well-enough with his daughters from her, especially Sabitha, who he finds to have a strong mind (in comparison to Gwenys, who he doesn't particularly understand, but he does find her "oddities" in behavior charming.)

Both Gwenys and Sabitha serve in the household of Cersei as ladies-in-waiting, which Cersei fought vehemently, particularly over Gwenys. Despite this, she also loves to throw in Helicent's face that she's closer with her daughters than their own mother is on the rare occasion that Helicent shows her face at court.

Sabitha has been taught to hold her tongue, that her silence is valuable. People feel more inclined to share things with her by thinking her a mute. Very rarely does she actively choose to speak with people. Stannis is probably the one she speaks most with aside from her sisters prior to the story, and Stannis is the one who most understands why she doesn't speak so much. She has a craving for information, not to tell it, not to throw it at someone else in gossip or argument, but rather, she simply likes to know things. Knowledge fulfills her.

Cersei is convinced that Sabitha's either an idiot or a viper, she can never tell which. Sabitha is neither, though she could very well be all that Cersei fears, if only Sabitha, herself, was given reason to be.

She goes to Winterfell with the rest of the royal party, Gwenys shivering behind her and chattering on about her latest fixation, (Brandon the Builder, fittingly.) though her words are so quiet, Sabitha can scarcely hear her, but she doesn't ask her to raise her voice.

As Sabitha has gathered so many tales, she can be quite the storyteller. While she hears the truths of the Red Keep for what they are, and could very well let them be known, she chooses instead to amuse others with her lies - harmless ones, she is not cruel. She does so with her own sister, making up a little white lie about Winterfell's history. Robb Stark overhears her, and, while he doesn't call her out for the falsehood outright, he does say, "I hope you do not think that is true." to which, Sabitha replies, well-aware of the unsettling truth, "You would not do well to upset her." and Robb allows the lie to linger, instead of ruining it.

She just wants the world to be pretty for Gwenys.

When it comes to her mother, she is of the belief that she and her sister were abandoned, and in some way she isn't entirely wrong. Stannis views her as a horrid influence, anyhow. She can use that as an excuse for herself. (by the way, I've toyed around with the idea of GOT-era Helicent being involved with Oberyn and Ellaria...)

She isn't close with her maternal cousins aside from Theo, father also considers them a bad influence. (He doesn't know that Theo sends her letters. He doesn't even recognize that she remembers him.)

I can't decide whether or not I want to have Sabitha and Robb betrothed following the Starks meeting with the Baratheons at Winterfell, or Sabitha and him ending up betrothed as a way to gain Northern support for Stannis' claim on the throne, but either, or even both (the initial betrothal being broken off for the Frey match.) are possibilities I'm willing to explore.

Was working on a little something for an ask (@lazyreinelle has the brain juices flowing <3) involving Adalysa's kiddos and so I was doing research on different houses in the Reach, Vale, and Riverlands, (a girly has to get matchmaking because she didn't do this beforehand - also some changes to Adalysa's story might be incoming.) and y'all the way I got jumpscared (in a good way) by the fanart used in the profile of Waymar Royce.

A character who dies in the prologue. A character who dies in the first episode. I see one piece of fanart and suddenly I want to make a fic for him.

I have House Vayne questions!

Do they exclusively marry in Reach houses or do they also have inter-regional alliances?

Typically, yes they marry within the Reach! Although, in their earlier years, there were a handful of strategic inter-regional marriages as a result of needing stability, (and wanting to appease people who aided during the restructuring of the house following Aegon's Conquest.) and in the later years around the era of GOT, in that little in-between, if there's any marriages from a house outside of the Reach, you can figure it'll have been a love match!

A list of houses that marry those from House Vayne (note that I haven't figured out ALL of the marriages for each generation, some just don't have stories for it, so there's possibility for more houses to-be-added! Also... as I said no one from this house is exactly straight and some folks were like Alerie and ran off with their lovers - cough - Leyton, Matthos' the third's other grandson - cough.)

I've been wanting to ask you but are there any Genavene x Vaelor descendants during Adalysa's era by any chance? Mainly cause my brain went: oh Genavene was a Hightower, Adalysa is a Hightower, would Gena's descendants meetM

Canonically, Adalysa's fic and Genavaelor's fic do not share a timeline, HOWEVER! If they did, here's a list of descendants (warning they're almost all Vaynes because... well, woopsie, a girly forgot to focus on the main family and kept building out the family of one of their grandchildren.)

There is some well-needed context here, however. Mariya Tully, granddaughter of Genavene and Vaelor through their eldest daughter, Aemma, marries Matthos Vayne, grandson of our main Matthos and Alla Osgrey. Their great-granddaughter was the first Helicent, and first woman in recorded history to inherit Vyneheart, however, through their son Garralt's descendants she finds other claimants. (in particular, his grandson, Willem.) Eventually, she has Garralt's great-grandson married to her daughter, a great-great granddaughter of Mariya and Matthos, to solidify the claim and secure the family name. Yes, it's incest, but it is also more realistic in this circumstance than just "she has a paper signed, giving her name to her children and children's children" also it's something I never explicitly intend to write as the only story of the Vaynes the husband appears in, he appears as a corpse. Also! About the weird "Rose" names for Rosamund and her sisters, I like to name my characters using puns. In-universe, though, their names are meant to signify their legitimacy claimed through House Tyrell, known for their "golden" roses. Mariya and Matthos' children deserve their own posts at some point (particularly twins Olyvar and Martyn, both who died in jousts defending each other - one wrongfully, being slain by his late-brother's lover, who he was led to believe had been the murderer.)

ADALYSA HIGHTOWER. Scandal of Oldtown. Light of Harrenhal. Garden-fairy.

Born on the second moon of the fourteenth day in 278 AC at the Hightower to Lord Leyton Hightower and Lady Rhea Florent. Growing up as the youngest child of her father and first and only of her mother proved a stark difference. While in her earliest memories, her mother doted on her, her father had already gone away into his books.

By eleven, all but one of her sisters had wed and abandoned the Hightower to their husband's keeps, leaving her with only Malora and her brothers. Her brothers were whom she preferred, having more power over them in her pinkie than their father could have imagined. Malora frightened her.

Unfortunately, the magic of her childhood could not last forever. In 296 AC she was married to Lord Ben Beesbury, one of her father's bannermen who was suspected to be corresponding with the Martells regarding a proposal to Princess Arianne. To keep him in their grasp, Adalysa was sacrificed. Still, the Gods proved merciful. Within a year, the decrepit old man fell ill and died and the marriage, having gone unconsummated, was posthumously annulled.

The scandal of the affair forced her back into hiding within the walls of her family home, all fairy tales having bled from her world. For two years, she remained, her only solace being her brothers—their affection more fierce than ever—and her flowers, pressed in her books and arranged about her rooms.

When her niece is betrothed to King Joffrey, Adalysa is called from the mundanity of the Hightower to the scheming court of King's Landing, a rather exciting change of pace, although she proves to be in over her head.

At least she has Lord Baelish's shadow on her side.

Was getting back into writing TML and am now banging my head against a wall as a result of the chapter switch-around I did because now I have to write around this. It isn't necessarily difficult, but when translating this chapter from the second draft I have from eons ago, the last chapter that came out, was actually situated two chapters ahead (iirc.) so translating that into this new draft is a wee bit tough, but I'll get through it. (Hopefully.)
