“You told me that killing someone was the ugliest thing in the world.” - Hannibal s01e12
One Shot || Lunatic
When she was little, her father had taught her the position of the stars. They weren’t all stars, of course. There was Venus and Mercury, Mars and Saturn and Jupiter. Some were visible to the naked eye, others they spied through her great grandfather’s telescope, an awkward contraption Garrett Jacob Hobbs wheeled out from its cobweb-covered position in the garage. He didn’t believe it meant anything, of course. The movement of the planets, progrades and retrogrades, the placement of the stars at the moment of your birth--nonsense, he said. Meaningless. But that was the point: to contemplate your insignificance. To look up at the heavens and feel dwarfed. Now, from the window of her hospital room, Abigail pressed her forehead to the glass, stared up at the dense night sky. There was a wind tonight, something bitter blowing in from the Eastern Bay, and the clouds marched across the sky with chilling precision leaving little room for stargazing. The only visible landmark was a sliver of moon, curved like a sickle, like a ritual instrument. Abigail thought of blades. Of the way they shone in the muted light of a motel bathroom. Behind here, in the dark of the bedroom, machinery whirred. Machines to measure her blood pressure, her heart rate, her vital signs. Machines she hadn’t needed for several weeks, though they remained here, calculating her existence, trying to position in her space, the same way astrologers tried to position the stars. What did it mean, if she remained unplugged? If her heart rate remained unmeasured, if there was no data to ground her in the moment? Abigail thought of bullets. Of the finality of shotgun shells piercing skin. She thought of her father, collapsed against kitchen cabinets. She thought of Will Graham, his staccato panic, the bloodspatter on his glasses causing him to stumble as he moved across the room to her. People believed the position of the stars when you were born meant something. They believed you could calculate the trajectory of your life that way, your likes and dislikes, your triumphs and your pitfalls. Abigail wiped the fogged-up window with the curve of her wrist. The patch of clarity revealed a break in the clouds, just as the moon emerged into view. Sharp edges. A glow. A stain in the sky. Long ago, Abigail had made up her mind that the stars had no bearing on her existence. Life was unpredictable and chaotic, scary, almost, in its refusal to adhere to a plan. And here she was, barefoot and robed, prisoner in an institution designed to keep her safe from the outside world.
And here she was, a speck, a dust mote. And here she was, with her keloid scar and her empty heart. She turned from the window and back toward the bed. There had never been anything out there for her--why should that change now? Her father had been right: it was meaningless, all of it. Barren and cold until you worked out how to bend it all to you--how to make the brightest planet in the sky shine solely on The Work. The hospital bed was warm but somehow uninviting. She burrowed under the covers, stretched her toes until the joints clicked. The moon remained outside her window, taunting her wordlessly. Think of what she could do with all that sharp. Think of the sky, flooded with crimson. Abigail fell asleep in the milky beam of light cascading through the hospital window. And this time, despite her best efforts, she did not dream.
if that would help you.
//Just posting in the tag to see if I can get some more Hannibal RP partners! The fandom/writing scene has been rather dead lately, and I’d love to be able to interact with more of you. Come add me/message me/like this post if interested!

Setting a place for Fannibal roleplayers?
It seems like things have gotten a little quiet around here!

The Beastly Artbook ‘TEA~SE’
If you’re following me on Twitter ( @beastlybeverage ) you will know that I have been working hard putting together an Art Book taking a tongue in cheek look at the world of advertising. In short, your favourite characters drawn in a seductive pin up style advertising Beastly Beverages.
The book will be Kickstarted so that I can not only pay for the books to be printed, but also pay each individual artist for their hard work on the project. I have been informed that usually artists do not get paid for contributions to art books ( they get a copy of the book when finished ) but I want to be able to give back to the art community that have given us so much gorgeous fandom art.
I am planning on launching the Kickstarter on the 15th of May. My reason for choosing this date is that it will be well underway by the time London MCM comes around and I can talk to you all face to face about this project. This is a project of love and I am really proud of the work that’s been done so far.
Once the book is made I will be selling it on my shop and at conventions ( those who back the Kickstarter will have the chance to receive their copy first before anyone else! ) and £3 of every copy sold will be going to Planned Parenthood. This is something I believe is very important and they are struggling at the moment. Everyone should have the right to access help with sexual health. Everyone. And Planned Parenthood is trying to do that.
If you are an artist, there is still time to send in your portfolio to be considered as an Art Book artist. Send your portfolio to: [email protected] The cut off date for entrants is: April 20th.
I appreciate all the support I have received for the book so far. But I do need some more feedback. I’d like to know what kinds of Supporter Perks you’d like in the Kickstarter. I am already going to include a Kickstarter only tea, prints of pieces from the book and Kickstarter only pin-badges and stickers. But what else would you like to see?
It’s an expensive project, I’m looking at around £7000. I have already paid half the commission prices for the artwork done out of my own pocket, but the artists should be paid what they’re worth and I intend to do that. And then of course there’s cost of printing and making the Backers Perks.
Please share this post far and wide! Please give me your feedback! I really want to see this book become a reality. It’s a real passion project for me and I hope you’re as excited about it as I am.
~Gabriel
Artists of tumblr? Consider submitting a portfolio to @beastlybeverages art book! Not!artists? Keep an eye on this project! It’s shaping up to be really frikkin cool, AND Gabe is sending part proceeds to Planned Parenthood, because he is a for real angel.
You’re doing something wrong if certain characters have to die to make other characters interesting. x
