do you think that with the main wmftd story starting to wrap up, you’ll still be making wmftd/hades content?
it’s so bittersweet seeing the story nearing its end having been reading it for so long, but you’ve expanded it beautifully and i cannot wait to see y/n and hypnos get their little happy ending, they’re just the sweetest!
I definitely will be.
I have Y/N’s role in Hades 2 plotted out and I want to finish all of the AUs, along with the lore fic for Y/N as well some more Sleep Family stories. I also have a request I need to finish. ( And will likely up open my ask box for requests afterward I finish the main fic)
WMFTD have been a huge part of my life for the past few years, I met you and so many wonderful people and I honestly don’t know what direction I will go with my writing afterwards, It is very bittersweet for me too. <3
Summary: In the century of 4xxx, it is unclear what is fact and what is fiction about a certain person. Maybe this Encyclopedia will have some clues. (Alternative history, one where Greek mythology remain prominent.)
Warnings: no beta, non canon, just for fun.
Notes: just a fun little thing I wanted to write, This is basically a wiki article and isn't required reading.
Enjoy!

Son of Patroclus, Son of Achilles
Although known by various names, he is best known by —-.
The most we know about him is his time as a hero in the Trojan War, along with notables feats as a boxer and warrior, during and after the war.
Later legends would claim he had fought Ares and won the first battle although he will lose the second one ( see 'Unfinished Epic' by an anonymous historian), this is considered highly unlikely and it is believed he was killed by an unknown warlord.
(Note: Archaeological discoveries in 3xxx in Egypt, have believed to find more evidence that the myth was widespread than previously thought.)
Description
There is no known records of his biological family, he was adopted by Patroclus or Achilles as a child however it remains unclear who was the official parent.
It was commonly believed among Victorian historians that he was the son of Achilles and a slave woman. However there had been a push among modern scholars that he was likely to be unrelated to either.
In the account of 'Peros the young', he was described as "a powerfully built man and a terrifying, brutal fighter, towering over almost all of his fellow warriors." It also noted his unusual intense eyes and a habitual scowl.
In the account, it was claimed Peros only seen the man genuinely smile once in the ten years he fought along his side; it was over "a bowl of unusually good stew."
Early Years
Very little is known about his childhood prior his adoption.
There are references to non-surviving previous sources, which claims that Patroclus and Achilles had rescued him from bandits, one that profited off children and animals in fights to the death for entertainment. ( see 'unfinished epic' by an anonymous historian)
This is widely considered untrue and most official sources used Argonautica 's version, of being born to a slave woman with Achilles or Patroclus being the father.
It was noted that, like Achilles and Patroclus;he was sent to Chiron, the most righteous of Centaurs, for lessons in philosophy, mathematics and so on.
It was during one of the springs or summers that he had supposedly fought off an herd of centaurs single-handedly, killing one and wounding several others.
Overall, It is unclear how long he spent time there.
In the Trojan War
According to the Iliad, he had arrived to Troy by Achilles' side. Later, he would be appointed as one of the commanders.
He is referred very little in the Iliad, however the few times he was, it was to mention his battle skills. The most notable time he was in the Iliad was after the death of Patroclus.
When Patroclus' body had returned to Achilles, it said that he didn't weep or scream in near-divine fury as Achilles did. As quoted from the poem, Just as Patroclus had turned cold as ice, so did his son, his humanity turned to winter, unwieldy and unwelcoming to the warm touch of another."
In the days after Hector's death and leading up to Achilles' death, they rarely spoke and the few times they did, it was bitter and harsh.
When Achilles was stuck by Apollo and Paris, it said that he tried to stop the bleeding, his strong grip kept Achilles earth bound for so long that it was said that Apollo had momentarily doubted his arrow would be successful.
In later myths, it was claimed that Achilles' blood had stained his palms red, a reminder of his failure. It doesn't seem to be a common belief since there is no mention of it in 'an unfinished epic' or in 'Peros the Young'
In the days after Achilles' death, he only left the tent for war meetings. He also was one of the Greeks in the Trojan horse, taking part in the fall of Tory.
It is unclear exactly what happened to him in the days after the war. It is usually agreed that he and Pyrrhus had disagreements over who was Achilles' rightful heir and what to do with Achilles and Patroclus' remains.
In most versions, both fought with Pyrrhus winning against the second son and had sent him away to live his life in shameful exile.
However, in 'An unfinished epic', it was Pyrrhus who had lost to —-, and the second son took Achilles and Patroclus' ashes with him to Chiron. It should be noted that 'Peros the young' matched this claim as well.
Post- war and death
Much like his early life, this time period of his life remains shrouded in mystery. There is a common belief this was due to him not using his own name but different versions or spellings of Patroclus or Achilles.
In general, it is believed that he traveled alone up until his death. He had likely made his living working as a fisherman, occasionally fighting in boxing matches.
When Ares, or more likely an unknown warlord, had attacked the town he was staying in, he had stayed and fought.
It said he won the first battle.
He lost the second one.
It is unclear what happened to his body following the battle, it was likely burned and the ashes scattered. However archaeologists believe that he might have been buried due to where the 'Unfinished epic 'was found.
An unfinished epic
Written by an unknown author, all that exist of the tale remains in a handful of fragments of papyrus, with huge chucks missing or completely unreadable.
This once unknown codex was discovered, during the early twentieth century by an American sergeant during World War Two, in a hidden grave along with bags of dried poppy seeds and seashells wrapped in an plain shroud.
The American sergeant took the codex and left everything else behind.
There had been many attempting to rediscover it, but it remain lost to this day, with many believing that the grave was likely destroyed in the ongoing warfare.
Much like Sappho's poetry, it is unclear the exact century the epic was first written down. It is suspected that there might be copies of it, including a copy of an completed epic, translated in the second or third century into Latin. However no such copies have ever been found.
It is believed to be a retelling of his life and his service to the gods after his death. However the writing is oddly fragmented, jumping back and forward in time instead of moving in a continuous flow.
This is the best known written work known about the adopted son of Achilles or Patroclus. There had been countless artworks and other written work inspired by the epic, many in art museums or in private archives.
The surviving pieces of the writing are housed at the National Archaeological museum in Greece.
Relationship to Hypnos
Their relationship is often thought to be romantic in nature.
It is heavily implied, if not right out stated, in the 'unfinished epic' that he and the god had a deeply emotional relationship. Much of the words had been lost, however he often spoke of Hypnos in terms of devotion and love as well of friendship.
With most claiming to be romantic in nature with him often admiring the god's beauty, some believe that he is only a guard and a close friend to Hypnos and his household.
However, dozens of authors and artists often depict them in a romantic manner especially in the classical era then having an resurrection in the Victorian times among homosexual lovers.
The best known being a prizefighter named Patrick Murphy, he would used the warrior's name as a stage name. He was in a long term relationship with his patron, Edmund Knox.
This continues into the modern day, with many plays referring to them as such. In 3xxx, an modestly successful indie movie, 'Nectar of Sleep' mainly focused on their romantic relationship.
In most retellings, they are almost always written as devoted lovers.
Symbols and Heroic cult
While he is not necessarily a god, his story and role as Achilles or Patroclus' son as well as a powerful warrior and lover to Hypnos had became important aspects in heroic worship.
In ruins of an port town, grave of a young male, likely to be early twenties, was found with poppy seeds on the left side of his head and unused himantes on his wrists.
It was noted that his left side of his skull was heavily fractured and the boney walls of his orbital canal was cracked wide open, likely causing his eyeball to be torn out or fall out. It is believed he had died due to several brain hemorrhages after a violent incident or accident.
This is one of the biggest discoveries regarding how his myth may have been used in funeral practices.
It had been believed that in later centuries that boxers and warriors in the classical era, especially those with homosexual relationships, often requested to buried with poppy seeds as an nod to his role as the guard and lover to Hypnos.
However this is greatly disputed among historians and is source of ongoing debates.
There had been records by historians, that parents who were adopting that would pray to —- and offer sweets in hopes of an successful adoption for the child.
Two animals had been tied to him, dogs and horses. While the dog is likely a symbol of loyalty, the horse is unclear to this day. Some believe it tied back to Achilles' immortal horses as a symbol as warfare.
To some it is another symbol of loyalty, to others, it could mean power or freedom.
Role in Modern Times
He had became a symbol of adoptions and lost children in Greece and many modern artworks or statues can found of him near by the front entrances of orphanages, acting as an guardian for the children along with Artemis and Apollo.
While he doesn't have a large cult following these days, it isn't unheard of for soldiers to pray and make offerings to him in hopes of surviving or for courage. Some will wear an iron on patch of a red poppy on their sleeve to mark their devotion to his cult.
During the Black Oceans War of the late 2xxx, a fleet of warship was named after Greek heroes, with him named among them. It had been one of the lone surviving warship after the Black Oceans war and retiring five years later.
While he hadn't reached notoriety like Odysseus or Achilles, he had been an NPC in several games. He was also a character in retellings of the Iliad, 'Fall of Troy' and 'Necatr of Sleep'. He was played by world famous boxer and actor, Alexander Pappas, in both films.
His relationship with Hypnos had been a source of inspiration for movies and books, the most famous one is the film 'Nectar of Sleep'. It was highly praised for the way it handled PTSD and flashbacks along with the slow, gentle romance between the guard and the god.
Lasting impact
While he isn't as well known as many Greek heroes, he nevertheless has a reputation as a loyal and devoted guardian to Hypnos. He also known as a protector of soldiers and children.
Although there are only handful of actual proof he existed, he left an impact that last to this day.
there are lots of coping mechanisms out there but this is the only method that (sometimes) works on my wretched brain. can't remember? predict the Future
raindrops!! i hope youre doing well, staying safe n all with everything going on right about now.
if i may ask, are we gonna see tsc!reader’s death or hints to it in constellations of us? how does his death in cou differ from his in the tsc timeline?
does he keep achilles/patroclus’s and y/n’s ashes after they die, or was he basically completely removed from that narrative after his and y/n’s split? (and ugh, the angst of their divorce is so evil’i love it)
Hi!! The same goes for you, stay safe out there okay? ( sames goes for everyone else.)
Yes, I actually almost done with COU, just been busy with real life stuff. And we do go in detail in his death in the upcoming chapter. And their divorce lol.
The death do differ and I will put it under the ‘read me’ along with a small ficlet for TSC
So in the TSC timeline, Reader and Y/N both survived the war and I like to imagine they lived a happy life together once they find a quiet place to settle down. Y/N would generally work as a laborer/carpenter while Reader becomes a beloved healer in the community. They might or might end up adopting kiddos eventually.
In COU, that doesn’t happen. It isn’t an easy death.
And even when he isn’t there, he never really left the narrative. Kinda ends up haunting it, which why Hypnos was so curious about Reader and went out his way to meet him.
here the ficlet about the end of the war in TSC.
Warnings: no beta, grief, some comfort.
~~
And just like that, the war was over.
Smoke lingered in the air like an unwanted guest, and you wondered if it would ever leave your clothes. Your hair. Your skin.
Maybe it would follow you for the rest of your life, a warning to all that only damnation follows your wake.
The camp was filled with noises, of men barking orders and heavy trunks dragging on the ground.
Odd, how those familiar voices sounded like strangers to you now.
You stayed inside the now nearly empty tent, carefully packing each one of your tools.
The same tools that kept the hands of death away for another day were now wrapped in plain cloth, tucked away in your travel bag.
Acid rose in your throat. If only you had been on the battlefield, if you had been faster, if that damn fight between Patroclus and Achilles didn't happen…
If. If. If.
That damn word will never leave, digging in you like a bad toothache.
When you heard the sound of the tent flap, you hesitated before turning your head to peer over your shoulders.
Y/n stood there, his mouth in a hard line. The circles underneath his eyes nearly black, speaking to the sleepless nights.
There was no doubt you looked equally hallowed out.
In a strange way, you felt like Troy. Raided and burned to the ground, just to be forgotten.
His gaze swept over you, the harsh lines of his expression softened as he made his way over to you.
You rose, meeting him halfway and already had your arms open when he pulled you into a firm embrace. You sighed with quiet relief, the world beyond the tent seemed muted and unimportant with y/n's heavy arms around you.
He pressed a kiss on the top of your scalp, lingering there as he spoke. "I got a pair of horses for us. We will leave at first light."
You swallowed, pulling back to look up at him. "Are you sure we can't just return back home-"
"Not with how Pyrrhus is behaving toward you, to my parents. Not with the way he had been acting up." Y/n cut you off. His hard tone caused you flinched and he immediately lowered his voice, his hand cupping your chin.
"We have a duty to my parents." Y/n murmured and you gave a shaky nod. The next words y/n spoke were in a menacing growl "And if Pyrrhus even so much as look at you again, I swear I will-"
You shushed him, covering his hand with yours. "Hey, you know he just trying to upset you. He won't do anything to me."
Pyrrhus might take everything else from y/n but not his parents' ashes or you.
Y/n scowled, like he would like to say exactly what he would do to Pyrrhus. You couldn't blame him.
Pyrrhus was a monster. If what you had heard was true, of Pyrrhus had done in the city of Troy, you hoped you never had to see him again.
"Everything packed." You whispered. "But I thought perhaps you would like help me with your parents' urn."
Y/n stilled, the anger draining out of him as you and him both glanced over to the table. Upon it, the urn rested, peaceful among the chaos. You hadn't dared to look at it during the packing, too aware that you would end up weeping once more.
You had loved them, they had became parents to you as well. A steady foundation in a world that felt like sand.
"Yeah." Y/n croaked, his voice oddly thick. You leaned against him, and he embraced you once more.
Then, in solemn quietness, You and him worked to ready the urn for a long journey to Chiron, wrapping it with cloth and bounding it in rope.
That night, Y/N held you close, his hand running up and down your back in soothing lines until your breathing had grew even in your sleep.
He didn't rest, his eyes locked on the packed bags.
AAAAAAAAA YOU DID AMAZING!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🤞
He looks gorgeous! I don't even know how to begin to explain how much I love his expression. ❤️ He is so handsome dude omg.
He looked like he like want to be annoyed but is totally fighting down a smile. The way you drew the lines of his jaw and cheekbones are so satisfying to look at. His beard looks amazing, I love how it adds a touch of ruggedness to his overall look. His eyes look amazing, a lot emotions in that single look. ❤️❤️
And his hair! You did an amazing job with the giving them a wet look with wave texture and the added water weight of the hair tips.
And the water running down his skin like omg~~~
The scars looks so cool and I love how the seem to highlight his muscular form and give text to his skin. The hair on his chest look so natural with the way it starts thick then narrow into a happy trail.
I can't imagine how challenging the angle must be but I think you totally killed it. His shoulders are nicely shaped and broad and his body proportions look right to me.
The lighting and shadows look awesome too. I love how the water ripples around him and I can just see him moving through the waters.
AAAAAAaAaA I love this so much. 10000000000000000000/10 will wall paper my house with this.
