I only needed one clothing item today for a party tommorow, but I’m going to use it tommorow as well and report back to y'all. It was fucking amazing. I could give my clothes back to the SA and not have to worry about that one double tagged piece of clothing. Amazing. do you have any tips for making a diy booster cup or whatever it's called? the ones that are covered in foil? thanks!

sure! a booster cup is a container that has had its insides lined with layers of aluminium foil. the foil acts as a faraday cage that blocks signals, so when you place a tag inside it’s ability to communicate with and set off security towers is blocked! as a faraday cage must be a closed circuit to work, the foil must completely envelope the tag inside - no tears, no gaps.

• you’ll need a big cup just as a precaution - some tags are surprisingly large!!

• you can test out your cup by placing your phone inside and calling it from a different device - if the call doesn’t connect then you’ve succeeded! if it does you’ll need to check your cup for faults😞

• try about three layers of foil before you check it works - three seems to be the minimum amount required, and since cups are small you’ll want to conserve what space you can

• use clear packing tape - it’s strong and you’ll be able to see through it to see if there are gaps or tears in the foil beneath the tape

• the method of cutting a slit or an X in the cup to slide things in won’t work here - the object being pushed trough can dislodge or damage the foil and render your cup useless. you can try securing foil to the underside of the cup lid, but it might be easier to create a foil flap inside the cup to open and tuck back into place. try both and see which works for you

• an upside of the cup is that if you’re being sussed you can toss it in a bin and leg it before it gets discovered. this is more valuable when you realise that carrying any sort of booster container can have extremely serious consequences and can result in actual jail time

• don’t be afraid to trash your cup and make a new one if your current cup is looking a bit shabby. it only takes one tiny tear in the foil for it to fail in its job
