If we had more than 90 minutes, would we have gotten a âwarm closeâ to mimic our Season 1 âcold openâ of the Ineffables Through the Ages? Something beyond the cheeky and clever closing title to really give us the Ineffables Through the Universes?
Welcome to A Warm Close: Through the Universes!Â
A Good Omens fan event where the only fixing weâre doing is fixing Amazonâs budget and making all the different universes that our beloved Ineffables keep appearing in!
If youâre a Good Omens creator tickled by the tag âAll Good Omens Fanfiction is Canonâ and excited about the snow globe sitting in Asa and Anthonyâs garden, especially when paired with the book quote: âThe universe is just something small and round, like those water-filled balls which produce a miniature snowstorm when you shake them.â This event is for you!
Check out the guidelines below the cut!
Guidelines:
You should create a fanfic, fanart, fan edit, or other fanwork that explores Aziraphale/Crowley (or their alter egos: Asa/Anthony) in an Alternate Universe (a Snow Globe, if you will).Â
This is a "Continuation of Canon" that celebrates our new âAll Good Omens Fanfiction is Canon" tag. Therefore, there are no âFix-Itsâ! This event assumes that the finale implies the existence of multiple universes. Works should be made with the idea of being "slice of life" segments that, if we had a full six episodes, would combine with other works to make 30 minutes of lots of versions of the Ineffables together in many different snow globes.Â
All ratings are welcome and all participants are welcome.Â
Artists should aim for one fully completed piece.
Video Editors should aim for at least a 45 second video featuring MS or DT in other roles to make a new version of the Ineffables together
Writers should aim for at least 1k words. We recommend no more than 5k words to make it to posting â but you do you, boo. No one is going to complain if you write a novel.
A collection will be created on Archive of Our Own for completed pieces. Creators can also use the hashtag #warmclose when posting on social media!

Good Omens Fan Fic Friday - (13 Feb 2026) Post-Apocalyptic Dystopias
This theme is centered on stories in which it all goes wrong and yet, life goes on--for some. These stories are set in dystopias created after everything normal crashes and burns.
Let's start with the wonderful My Favorite Ghost (T) by DiminishingReturns/@diminished-fish with art by @cassieoh. Heaven and Hell finally get their war. Aziraphale is discorporated and takes hundreds of years to return to a much-changed earth. Crowley is nowhere to be found. On his own, Aziraphale becomes a keeper of knowledge in a world untethered from the past.
This story is definitely post-apocalyptic, but is too hopeful to be actually dystopian. The new society the humans build is quite lovely. And, yes, it does have a happy ending after a sweet, and melancholy story.
Another story set after the devastation caused by the final battle between heaven and hell is You, Dear, at the End of the World (T) by @finethingswellworn. Although Aziraphale and Crowley were aware of each other (both being assigned to earth), they never spent time together. After heaven and hell battle, Aziraphale carves out a safe place for some humans. But he is surprised when a demon shows up with a few more.
I'm very glad @di-42 recommended this story. I loved it.
Survival is Insufficient Without Love (a series of post-apocalypse vignettes) (T) by @bohoteacher is inspired by the book, District Eleven (an excellent read). The short vignettes in this one-shot have the storyteller Aziraphale and forager Crow making a connection in a world decimated by a pandemic and finding a community. It is a gentle and tender story, a great read for when things around you feel too rough.
New Discoveries (T) by Panic_CelestialInk/@tamsinswriting is an intriguing WIP inspired by Wall-E. Crowley is a cyborg on a desolate future earth who has become a parental figure for cyborgs the Them. One day, a new cyborg, Aziraphale, shows up. This story is already very sweet and I look forward to reading more.
In The Island (E) by waein takes inspiration from a wide range of stories. In this tale, Crowley is a privileged student in an authoritarian regime and Aziraphale is a brilliant student from a lower caste. Told in several timelines, the story is moody, intense, and very well told.
Finally, we have Echo (E) by @snae-b. It feels like a time loop story in which Aziraphale is a barista and Crowley a chauffeur whose daily interactions feel strangely familiar, despite not knowing each other. I can't tell you much more about this story without spoiling it. It is a fascinating read.
Hope you find an interesting new read. Check out the pinned post on this blog to see all my recommendations since 2024.

May I recommend Summer's End (E) by @feraltuxedo, my favorite post-zombie-apocalypse cottagecore sex worker AU? Aziraphale is a sex worker who lives in an old caravan and serves the particular needs of those heading north to relative safety. Crowley is a wanderer with a suspicious amount of cash and a talent for gardening - and Aziraphale has a garden that could provide a lot more food if it was tended by more capable hands. In spite of the protests from everyone he knows, Aziraphale lets Crowley stay with him over the summer in exchange for helping with his garden...and rather than ever feeling threatened by this mysterious stranger, as summer's end approaches, Aziraphale feels more and more reluctant to send him away.

Soho's gentleman beast by 05Mei_ran
Vampire Naga AU. Rating: T.
There were plenty of rumors about Soho's beast floating around to support the claims, so why couldn't he find his target?!
I thought I'd do one of these for 2025 to remind myself that I DO actually do good work. Next time I get down on myself I'll come find this and try to get over myself.
I have free time today and that makes it a book sharing day. This is a bind of Long Haul by snae_b, a Good Omens human!au where our favorite angel and demon are truckers. It's sweet and very sexy and full of excellent characterization and Americana, and it was the first of snae's works that I ever read. Wonderful story that I've wanted to bind for ages, and I finally got around to it!
For cover materials we have Japanese book cloth on the spine (the color's called celery and it's a remnant from when I bound Northanger Abbey last year) and Italian book cloth on the main part of the cover (this one's called rainwater and it was also bought for another project, but ended up clashing with the endpapers for that one). Both of them have interesting textures. The green cloth is really soft and the gray is smooth but stiff, like car upholstery, and the contrast makes it nice to hold. I originally intended to just have the two materials, but there was a tiny sliver of visible board when I did that, so I added the green ribbon to cover the join. I made this decision very late in the process, after it had been cased in, so I had to cut and glue it very precisely and it doesn't actually extend under the endpaper like it should. Also fun fact! If you're using polyester ribbon you can just put PVA directly on the back and glue it down and it won't bleed, no special treatment necessary.
I chose not to put a title on the cover of this one, because it's got this nice soft romantic feeling to it and I couldn't find a font or layout that worked with the vibes of both the cover and the story. It looks plain but the materials are rich and you know it immediately when you pick it up.
More pics under the cut!
I forgot to take a photo of the endbands while I was doing the rest of my little photo shoot, so please forgive the messy backdrop. Here we have: nice square back tight to the spine, higher-res textures, the same ribbon for the bookmark that I used on the covers, and the endbands which are handmade and striped in alternating shades of soft green. One shade was chosen to match the spine, and the other...
...matches the endpapers. These are two-sided cardstock and they came from Joanne's (rip). The florals reminded me of a scene in the fic where Crowley's trying on a shirt with little white flowers, and it's not the right color for that (he's in burgundy) but once the comparison struck me it wouldn't let up. And the checkered print on the back reminds me of the Americana diner aesthetic that is also strongly represented in the fic, so there really wasn't any other choice.
Look at this title page. I am in love with it. I put it together from various free assets (the Noun Project really came through for me here) specifically to mimic the types of signs you see on the highways listing amenities in the next town. There's a lot of highway and interstate driving in this fic, as you'd expect, and I thought this was a clever way to set the mood. This is like, 15 elements that I had to manipulate separately and attach to each other, and the angel and demon had to be cropped down from full-body images. With wings, in the angel's case. Finicky process that was worth every minute. (It's so cute.)
First page, and an image of the interior with my line break art. I made them look like roads, and the lines in the center of roads. Like I said, a lot of driving in this one, and much of it in the large empty stretches of the country. I love these designs. They're so simple that I made them right in Word with its built-in shapes, and I've said it before but I am not skilled or knowledgeable on how to do 2d art. Almost all my image assets are pre-made and I do the barest possible edits to them. But these suit the story and set the tone so well that I'm kind of obsessed. It's making me think about trying more complex things in the future. I guess we'll see.
I made this one for myself. This story is near and dear to my heart and when I thought about the fics I wanted to record, this one was at the top of my list.
This story isnât fluffy, but itâs hopeful. It doesnât shy away from the possibilities of what the world could be like in this situation, but thereâs an underlying optimism. I canât say enough good things about it and Iâm so, so grateful to @snae-b for agreeing to let me record it.
Summary: A bitter alpha. A closeted omega. Alone together at the end of the world.
1994 Arkansas demolition derby human AU. Crowley has paid a price for being open about who he is. Aziraphale has hidden his truth, which hasnât really saved him even a little bit.

Iâm totally not psychotic about @snae-bâs angry wounded slutty 90âs redneck demolition derby Crowley.
Nope. Totally normal. Totally chill. Just gonna listen to John Michael Montgomery version of âI swearâ on repeat and not be a freak about the âfiguring out how to love and be lovedâ tag.
Wrecked by @snae-b (rated explicit, 11k, WIP 4/16)
Dystopias -- the kind where society has broken down and you need to break into an abandoned Walmart to survive. The vibe is: The Road, Station Eleven, Parable of the Sower, Handmaidâs Tale. Less: angels, demons, heaven, hell. More: failed electrical grid, ravenously eating cans of cold beans, and fear of getting a life-threatening infection from a minor injury.
Summerâs End by @FeralTuxedo (Rated Explicit, 47K, finished)
The dystopian cottagecore sex worker AU one.Â
When I started looking for Good Omens fanfics, this was one of the first fics I read. It did its job beautifully, and and it totally sucked me into this fandom. The world-building is beautiful, and it feels like an emotionally authentic way these two individuals could find each other and build a life after society has disintegrated. Like any good AU, this has characterization that is harmonious with canon but throws these personalities into a wildly different Situation. Bonus points for sex-worker Aziraphale, another favorite trope (and a John Prine nod? Summer's End is a beautiful song that resonates with this story, even if it's just a coincidence).
The Beginning and the End by @snae-b (Rated Explicit, 45K, finished)
Omegaverse dystopia: Alpha Crowley and Omega Aziraphale are on the run. Omegaverse has a powerful biologically-based social hierarchy with which writers can give incisive social commentary about gendered experiences in our world. In this survivalist story, you can really feel frightening and vulnerable it is to be a member of the physically weaker class. I appreciated how Crowley, as the alpha, slowly gains insight into Aziraphaleâs experience as an omega in a way he probably would not have, were society stable. It was a beautiful progression to trust that started from Aziraphaleâs chilling pragmatic attitude towards survival. Mind the tags if you are squeamish about kinky stuff (but also mind the tags if you are seeking out kinky stuff).
