Finding your identity as a skeleton can be surprisingly difficult!
Next up someone is going to claim that the Narnia series isn't kids books.
Kids books is probably not the best way to word it, you can enjoy them at every age, including your childhood, as you get older you may find new truths in them, but they're still good for any age.
“Children’s books” are books that are suitable for children to read. Not books that only children are allowed to read and find value in. Everyone needs to get over themselves and be able to appreciate childlike whimsy without having to recategorize it to justify it.
Most of my favorite books are children’s books.
It drives me nuts how little faith people have in children’s learning ability. Kids learn when they’re curious. Kids learn when they are enjoying an experience. If a kid is enjoying a story, they’re going to ask what certain words mean if they need help and that’s healthy. Asking questions is an essential part of learning and, so long as they receive an appropriate answer, can be incredibly rewarding.
If a kid happens to read my post please take this message to heart: ASK! Don’t feel ashamed about not knowing the answer immediately. It’s completely normal to encounter new words and phrases while reading and it’s perfectly fine to be confused. Any adult who shames you for asking questions is behaving in a very immature way. Don’t be afraid to question what you’re reading. Don’t be afraid to admit you don’t know what something means. Don’t be afraid to discuss your experience with a book with others, even if said others had a different experience. It’s ok to be challenged. You aren’t stupid for not knowing. If you want to read something, read it. Age levels for books are a recommendation not a law. Read what you want to read. Challenge yourself.
To any adult reading this: LET KIDS READ AND ASK QUESTIONS!!! Don’t mock them for not knowing something yet. Teach them. If they’re struggling offer assistance and withhold your judgement. If they’re excelling let them read the advanced books they may want to read. Encourage children to seek out answers. Kids don’t always need everything to be dumbed down for them. Dumbing EVERYTHING down for them insults their intelligence and, whether you realize it or not, they will take note of your lack of confidence in them. Kids usually don’t appreciate being treated like idiots any more than adults do. They know when you’re being overly patronizing and they often WILL resent you for it. They also often won’t push themselves to improve if you make it clear that you don’t believe that they can improve. It can be a struggle to learn, especially for some kids, but refusing to acknowledge that they are intelligent will never end well.
Also, the Hobbit is VERY MUCH a children’s book. It isn’t exclusively for children but it’s designed to function almost like a bedtime story/legendary tale. It’s a classic hero’s journey with a moral at the end that, despite having tragic moments in the story, is in no way extreme nor overly disturbing for the average reader. It’s a very well crafted story that’s great for ALL ages.
how rank 3 evil snowman on colossus boulevard are moving when you’re level 10 and you have not but a storm shark to your name
It's Jeff! Meets Daredevil #1 (2026)
written by Kelly Thompson art by Gurihiru
More proof that Jeff the Shark is the most innocent being in existence! He’s a perfect baby who would never destroy a statue (ignore the wobble)!
My little brother forced me to play sonic forces with him. I asked to see what he made his player character look like and he said that he’d only show me if I made my own character. Here’s what I made in game and the sonic oc I made afterwards.
The player model is grandpa bear
The drawn character is Seth the leopard seal!
I launched a completely open original species! I've had this idea for a while, but they're finally public ! Yay
They're called Coastaurs, and they're rollercoaster-based taur furries :]
You can check out more about them here!
If you make any, please please please tag me, I'd love to see >:D
I tried making one! His name is Boomerang and he’s based on a rollercoaster at Elitch Gardens.
He is usually very hyper, chatty, and friendly when interacting with potential riders but the second you look away from him he falls asleep. When around people he considers friends, family, and peers he’s far more calm and even a bit shy. He’s quite gullible and is easily tricked. He loves adrenaline spiking activities like bungee jumping, haunted houses, skydiving, etc. His favorite holiday is Halloween because he loves being spooked! Though he’s usually quite merry he can become quite anxious, especially when he suspects that he’s upset somebody or that someone noticed one of his more embarrassing traits (like his gullibility).
He sees riders as customers and is quite performative when he believes they’re around. He pretends to be more enthusiastic, polite, positive, and optimistic around potential customers. When around customers he talks a bit like an auctioneer or overeager salesman. He finds work boring and exhausting nowadays but was genuinely enthusiastic when he started offering roller coaster rides. He doesn’t want to admit to himself that he’s no longer satisfied with his job (he needs a year off of work so he can travel and check some big goals off his bucket list). He yearns for adventure, especially if he’s with friends!
He’s middle aged. He’s asexual. He’s pan romantic. He’s nonbinary. He doesn’t really care what pronouns he’s referred to with but his somewhat stereotypically masculine voice leads to him usually being referred to using male pronouns.
His name reminds me of the channel which used to air a bunch of Hanna Barbera cartoons when I was a kid. I feel like he’d react to things in a cartoonish way.
I’ll probably make more lore for him later because I really like this character!
Species: Coastaur by @darkxwolf17
if theres one thing that really pissed me off from my 3 years of architecture i took in high school it's learning about how we used to have all these little techniques to maximize or minimize heat or warmth and now we just merrily abandoned all those to have the same copypaste style buildings everywhere that are often INCREDIBLY unoptimized to the local weather and climate so we can just throw more money at our heating and cooling bills
where i live it is hot as balls approximately 80% of the year. i do not want a massive butt-ugly grey mcmansion with a huge echoey open-concept kitchen-livingroom-foyer-diningroom-staircase that has huge windows so i can have an hvac unit the size of a barge heaving and straining to keep it at a constant 72 the grees. i want a north indian traditional style home with small windows to force the airflow to cool, decorative grates to limit the amount of sunlight, and a COURTYARD with a POND *smashes unspecified large object*
I hate learning about instances of "oh yeah we know how to do that, we just don't".
Exactly! I love windows but those giant open mcmansion designs are just awful when it comes to temperature regulation (and privacy)! Too much of an open floor plan just makes me feel like I’m in a public place. I want lots of small rooms. Some with windows and some without. I want features that help me cool down! Maybe one big window in the living room so I can sun myself if I’m feeling chilly but otherwise I want my windows to be medium or small. Underground spaces would also be nice because they tend to have a more consistent temperature and offer lots of privacy. I don’t wanna be in a glass cube.
Actually, y’know what? I’m just gonna move into a prairie dog burrow. I’ll just sun myself around the exits on occasion.
B-b-big bug… wowza!
Wow thanks for the ingot man let me just inspect the quality real quick
Dude come on
so close! the correct answer was "I love you most".
They are gay your honor
and not to mention all the playthroughs. The unnecessary feelings reaction compilations never end.
If I had a nickel for every time a random person picked up ace attorney with no expectations and saw wrightworth I would have enough money to buy capcom and make 100% wrightworth canon.
Oh my god I love this creature
A Chandlo's natural habitat: the ball den
"Astrid is the strongest of the group, she obviously has-"
ASTRID was blinded by looking in the General Direction of a lightening strike which landed Too Close To Her Face multiple feet away. SNOTLOUT JORGENSON, on the other hand, who has been struck by lightning on screen 12 times-
well yeah, it hit him in the head, he wasnt looking at it
We support (dreamworks) Snotlout. He is a funny himbo who can survive anything no matter how ridiculous.
Book Snotlout on the other hand…
Ps. Camicazi is cooler than Astrid. Fight me. I will lose but that is the way of camicazi. Fight even if you are gonna get your butt kicked. Also steal some trinkets while I’m at it.
Me @ everyone in my country who votes for parties that defund public healthcare and then goes to a public hospital and moans about how shabby it was.
Yeah, I know someone who will take advantage of literally every public service then whines about taxes and socialism. I don’t understand why she thinks this way.
I’ve been playing too much katamari lately. Despite this I still cannot impress the king of all cosmos.
