Don't worry. If you don't want to see this stuff, I'm pretty good about tagging anything kurtty so you can filter out what you aren't interested in. Unless it's mild or nominal, and then I don't bother, because it *is* canon that they're friends, so. This one is about their friendship though.

Let us begin with that time he tricked everyone into thinking he was betraying Excalibur just so he could get a jump on the bad guy trolls, but Kitty wasn't fooled.

Even when she was a kid, they were becoming good friends. As soon as she got over her fear of his appearance.

He wishes she wouldn't take risks.

She saves him a lot.

And she's on his.

When she was trapped in the space bullet, he missed her terribly and no one seemed to notice because everyone was all, "Oh poor Piotr."

They hardly ever argue and when they do, they make up easily and quickly, by talking (or in Kurt's case, not talking).

When they had a fight over the phone about Kitty thinking she saw a (dead) Piotr, he felt bad and flew from NY to Chicago to make up with her, and also took her seriously after expressing doubt over the phone. He took the time to look up the things she'd suggested and see if there were any leads, and when he got there and she finally accepted that it wasn't Piotr she'd seen, he was there for her.

He got knocked out while searching for her and hallucinated her.

Aliens captured her once.

But he saved her.

Even during schism, there were no hard feelings between them.

He teases but it's affectionate.

And when Jean upset her, he was the first one going after her. Storm sent him away. Kind of like how she insisted on fighting Calisto over her even when Kurt had already challenged her to save Kitty.

They are holding hands (below)

He bought her the Magen David she always wears.

He made some interesting implications here.

They have been the best of friends for so long and it hurts to see these writers just throwing it all away.

After Kitty and Meggan get captured by the Technet, Kurt, who is like days out of his coma recovery and nearly died in Moira's hologym, spends all day getting to Brian Braddock's lighthouse to enlist his help, only to find him unconscious from drinking (Brian's twin sister Betsy was supposedly dead in Dallas along with the X-Men). Kurt dumps him into the ocean because he doesn't have the time to deal with this shit.

Brian's fine of course. Kurt gives him the short version of the story but Brian's reaction is... pathetic.

So Kurt SLAMS HIM AGAINST THE WALL SO HARD HE CRACKS IT. Y'all, Brian is easily twice Kurt's size. Do NOT fuck with Kurt when his friends are in danger.

Earlier, during X-Men, Kitty was injured by a Morlock who has the power to make her sick or heal her; Morlock refuses and the only way to make them do it is to beat Calisto and become leader of the Morlocks. SO KURT CHALLENGES CALISTO IMMEDIATELY.

Ultimately Storm does the battle, but damn. Kurt was READY. And he didn't hesitate. He's just like, welp, let's go.

I don't know what the image limit is anymore but this has to be getting close. I'll make another post with more. But seriously, look beyond the recent stuff. Go dig into some of the older comics, Excalibur, the 2004 solo, where you get to see Kurt as more than just a "priest" or a cutesy lovemuffin hug machine. Nothing wrong with the huggy thing but he's more than that and I feel like it's being overshadowed lately by the emphasis on him being so loving and cutesy and oh look this stupid character's kids fell asleep on him in .0000004 seconds how adorable. No. No it is not, stop. Anway I digress.

some of you really aren’t gonna like this, but a creator’s wishes should never dictate what fan content is produced for a piece of media.

in the past, authors like anne rice have tried to limit the production of fanfiction. but at least rice was honest - she thought this infringed on her copywrite. back in the day, this was considered a valid argument to not create any fanfiction at all for her works.

do you understand what i’m saying? while you may sound valiant for placing a creator’s “discomfort” above the fan’s natural proclivities in fandom, really you’re just continuing to advocate for censorship in fan spaces.

and for anyone who is a creator, or who wants to become one - get comfortable with the rules of the internet. there will be erotic content made of your characters, there will be weird AUs made with your characters. there will be strange pairings and headcanons, no matter if you interact religiously with the fans or not. you cannot stop people from connecting with and wanting to be creative with your characters.

A fandom mindset that really needs to come back: Don't Break the Fourth Wall

Make whatever you want, but don't show it to the original creator. Writers legally cannot read fic of their work. It is a perfectly reasonable boundary for actors not to want erotic art of their characters thrust upon them. Don't link copyright holders to fan merch of their IP. And for the love of fuck, stop @ tagging the people who make the thing you're a fan of to validate your headcanons or rebuke someone else's.

And creators? That goes both ways. Block, mute, ignore, set and enforce whatever boundaries on what you don't want to see, but don't for a minute think you can stop a fandom from being a fandom.

This misinformation is actually dangerous. If you drink ice cold water after workout, you can freeze and crack your gut mucus that protects you from your own digestión acids and could create an ulcer.

in drinking ice water, you are functionally adding several ounces of 32° f water into a solid body of 100+ lbs at 98° f.

that water is not doing jack shit to your stomach lining, your body is simply too much of a thermal reservoir. the water is already increased significantly in temperature by the time it reaches your stomach.

in order to actually freeze anything inside your body you have to be drinking liquid nitrogen. ice water is fine!

it might make your stomach nerves uncomfy if you're super sensitive or not used to it, but it's not actually doing you physical harm

OP mentioned this didn't include people with underlying medical conditions, but, @rhulyon, if you're saying cold water is interferring with your gut health and increases your acid levels and gives you ulcers, it may be time to seek out help from a GI.

The normal amount of ulcers that healthy individuals get is Zero and prolonged uncontrolled acid can lead to more serious problems down the line. It's far more likely that the problems you're having with ice water are innate to your guts and not the water.

MY MAGNUM OPUS HAS FINALLY BEEN RELOCATED...

this was my final for my sound design class in 2024. the assignment was to recreate a movie scene with entirely different sound effects to change the tone/genre/whatever and i chose the legendary nightcrawler breaks into the white house scene in X2. i won 'silliest project' and was rewarded with a clown horn for this video.
