a quiet day in the city, both the ground and walls sparkling with a constant
reminder as to why. it was a beautiful sight to many, but with it came many
hardships. its surface smooth as ice yet as tough as diamond. to many inside
now locked from the outside and the same to those outside. he found himself
underneath a canopy enjoying the moment of peace.
though said peace would not last forever
it wasn’t long before he could heard the roar, muffled from distance but clear
the beast was getting closer. it was a common occurrence for the beasts to
draw closer and enter the city, patrols he’s seen from time to time tasked with
disposal. he assumed it was a patrol looking to trap the beast and dispose of
it, but to his surprise it was a single individual running from the beast, clutched
in her arms what he assumed was a child.
it’s just not your day is it?
he was on the cusp of stepping in to offer assistance until to his surprise she
thrust the child towards him, his understanding of the situation now clear to
him. with a smile he offers her a bow, a hand placed across his chest as the
other rests on the child’s shoulder. he would offer her a hand when he felt
necessary, but for the moment she entrusted the boys safety to him.
‘ of course, you may leave him in my care. good luck. ’
her eyes cut across the man's face for the split second she had to spare, critical gaze taking in every detail it could. he was older, by human standards, an adult in full, and calm in the face of what had just quite literally run into his life. it was with that knowledge that ahsoka relinquished her hold on the sobbing boy, transferring his weight to the other even as she gave the man a curt nod. ❝ Keep him safe. And if the fight goes badly... ❞ a pause, and a flash of a smile, ❝ take him deeper into the city. ❞ and with that, she was off again, taking time only to snag similar spears of broken diamond up from the ground before sprinting back towards the beast.
makeshift sabers in hand, ahsoka met the yeti full-on, her steps light and fast as she ran. a reckless approach, but she needed to keep the creature’s attention on herself. and so she charged with a full-throated yell, no shred of hesitation in her movements... as she hit the ground full-body, using her own momentum to slide clear between the yeti’s legs. her crystal spears slowed her movement as she stabbed them into the ground ( she was used to the smooth slice of her lightsabers, and winced at the way the maneuver yanked at her shoulders ), slowing her to a stop. behind the beast, she knew she had an advantage.
bracing herself, ahsoka leapt—directly onto the creature’s back. the diamond skin beneath her feet was slick, but even as the yeti roared in outrage, ahsoka kept her footing through sheer force of will and the reflexes honed through years of training, her fingers finding subtle handholds in that crystalline fur.
