For thousands of years humanity has selectively bred chickens to have larger breasts and to have to lay eggs constantly. We did it to get more meat and per chicken, but from the perspective of the domesticated chickens they’re sorta living in a very specific fetish scenario
People love to have these kind of thoughts and go "okay now to use this information to only inform what I jerk off to and not to stop supplying the genocide factories" because they've straight up not come to terms with the fact that acts of resistance don't always correlate with feeling good and/or changing your underwear
Any advice for finding queer, science-minded, leftist, vegan community?
A lot of this depends on where you are. I have had good luck in the past few years, but I live in a bigger, more radical city, so your luck may vary. Most of this, I find, is still applicable in many ways.
The biggest piece of advice is start noticing graffiti, posters, and stickers. Many more radical groups use these things to get people's attention, people who are already looking at the "garbage" or whatever. I have found innumerable events and opportunities for praxis on street corners.
Following that, go to events, or better yet, join a group. Does the local farm sanctuary need volunteers? How about Food not Bombs? Shit, what about the audubon society, no kill shelters, food shelves and distributions, ect ect. Trying to find people on lex or insta or whatever can get you some people, but I have better luck going where people are already doing shit.
I have stopped believing that an online "community" is actually a community, and I highly recommend moving offline as much as possible. You can find 1 bajillion "queer friendly leftist discord servers/groups/pages/whatever" but nothing replaces talking to people in real life. It's how you can actually organize. The biggest leap in organizing (or socializing) is from your couch to the streets, everything else is a lot easier.
Perhaps disappointingly, not everyone is gonna do all of that, esp not all the time. With the disclaimer that 99.99% of my friends are queer already, I know leftist vegans that aren't always up to date on scientific consensus (or dont care), I have leftist scientist friends who eat meat or are vegetarian, I know queer leftist vegan scientists that are insufferable. It's not about everyone being perfect, it's about finding people moving in the same direction you are. I know people who are a lot more vegan now than when I met them. It takes time to build up a community, but you gotta put the work in first.
I know a lot of this advice seems oriented around organizing and praxis, but the truth is, the people you're describing (the ones who aren't too terminally online) are in the streets doing something.
The easiest way to build a community is to get out and do some building.
This is making me consider honestly that one of the biggest hurdles I see in my part of America is that 90% of my state is like a no loitering zone like straight up I can't think of more than one or two places I could meet more people. Not that I'm bitching I just feel like nothing ever gets off the ground in CT cause it's not a place to actually live in anymore, they won't even build data centers here cause it's just a postage stamp of speculative real estate

Ríhanna Kelver, a bartender and trans rights advocate in Laramie, has been charged with aggravated assault and possession of a deadly weapon with unlawful intent after a 13 September 2025 confrontation outside the Crowbar & Grill, whereshe worked. Kelver could be sentenced to up to 15 years in prison if convicted on both charges.
Kelver says one man in a group of men across the street from her started shouting homophobic and transphobic insults at her before the man allegedly shoved her to the ground in a downtown crosswalk, as reported by The Laramie Reporter.

As pointed out by Slate, self-defense laws are often put into question when people from marginalized communities, especially trans people, use them, including Cece McDonald, a Black trans woman who served time in a men’s prison for defending her friends during a racist and transphobic attack. Ky Peterson, a Black trans man from Georgia, was also arrested and imprisoned for killing his rapist in self-defense.

a local reporter posted this article this morning that delves into her attacker's affiliation with the fascist patriot front org and the fact that since he moved to laramie in 2023 there has been a significant uptick in hateful activity and propaganda being spread throughout the town. this man was prevented from walking at his high school graduation by his own admission due to his racist, queerphobic, and antisemetic behavior.
one of the things that has been infuriating to me is that her attacker is not the one pressing charges. not the literal man she pulled a gun on, it is the police who are threatening her with 15 years in prison.
please help ríhanna if you can, she doesn't deserve this and it is depicting the increasing danger for trans women and other queer people in this city and state as a whole.

Remember 4 months ago when the CEO of this platform harassed and chased a trans woman off this website just for posting her transition timeline, then chased her to other social media platforms to continue harassing her, and threatened to call the FBI if she continued disputing the multiple dubious terminations of her blogs that did not violate tumblr's terms of service in any way? And despite tumblr staff insisting that the CEO was acting against their interests, the broad transmisogyny evident in the site's culture and moderation policy has still not been adequately addressed?
