I saw your reblogs gushing about young Nico, and I think it’s perfect timing with what I was going to ask.
Could we get some post Nico’s retirement brocedes, maybe when Lewis let his hair grow and started braiding it, or when he became more organized with his fashion. I think Hamilton had an obvious glow up, but I’ve seen people in TikTok arguing that Lewis did not “fumble” Nico because now he is hotter than him. (Obviously false, Nico was a generational fumble)
Imagine if Nico and Lewis were dating when they were young (they broke up when Nico got in F1 or when the silver war started) and then got back together post-2016. They’re very lowkey about it, but everyone (media, people online, celebrities) starts talking about how handsome Lewis looks, to the point where Nico feels insecure because he is no longer the pretty one.
There is no jealousy or envy towards Lewis, but rather disappointment on himself. He did not pleasure his partner enough during the time they were apart, and now Lewis is stuck with an old and washed out version of him instead of the 2000s pop princess he used to be.
Lewis of course doesn’t care about that. He loves Nico at any age and shape, and will work extra hard to show him.
Ohh Anon now Lewis simply has to pull Nico in the fiercest, most protective embrace ever and tell his sweetheart that he is still beautiful in every single way. That while the years may have gone by, Lewis's love for Nico never went away. Not ever—not even when they were feuding so fiercely Toto hired relationship counselors to follow them around at every race.
When I read this prompt I was nodding along, completely agreeing with every word, and then you hit me with that one-two sucker punch at the end of Nico feeling completely inadequate and then wishing he'd been with Lewis in the 2010s when he was still the paddock princess (and the most coveted beauty in F1) 😭😭
Imagine Nico not really being aware of the discourse on TikTok—he's been in a state of bliss since Lewis came home from Maranello and told Nico that he thinks this is the year. This will be the year Lewis shows the world he's not just a legacy driver—
He's Lewis fucking Hamilton and he will not leave the Scuderia without helping them fight for another championship.
Lewis had grabbed Nico and spun him around, his enthusiasm was infectious and soon, Nico was bright-eyed with laughter and joy, arms wrapped around his boyfriend's neck before he's leaning in and kissing Lewis, hands tangled in his hair as he deepens the kiss.
Leaning back, Nico's breathing is heavy, his chest rising and falling rapidly as he gazes at the gorgeous man staring back at him. Fuck, Nico's been in love with Lewis since they were both pre-teens with bad acne and crackling voices.
He's been in love with Lewis since they were fresh-faced teenagers, karting their way through Europe.
He's been in love with Lewis since he had a buzzcut and a wide, goofy smile as he wrapped Nico in an embrace during their early days in F1.
But no one can deny that his Lewis has aged like fine wine, looking more and more gorgeous by the day—to the point where Nico sometimes wakes up in the middle of the night just to drink him in, mouth pressing soft kisses down his jawline because he can't believe the most handsome man in the world still wants Nico.
That grabbed the retired Mercedes driver and whispered move in with me in 2022 and bought them matching diamonds. Lewis wore his on a chian around his throat.
Nico wore his on a platinum bracelet on his right wrist.
That night, Lewis was showering while Nico laid in bed. The German driver had always had a penchant for pretty, silky things. In his youth it was skimpy thongs and little bralettes but as he's gotten older, Nico's transitioned to short babydoll nightgowns and maybe a pair of semi-sheer panties, just to tease Lewis 🤭
He's scrolling through Instagram, chuckling at memes and random reels on his FYP when he sees something pop up that catches his eye:
It's a TikTok video that's been reposted on Instagram.
And that video shows several photos of Nico in his youth, around 2002 to 2006, before several unflattering paparazzi pictures of Nico from 2025 crop up.
The caption reads: Lol at everyone saying Lewis made a generational fumble when that man had a goddamn glow up while Nico's over here aging like milk 😂😂
The reel has over 700 comments and Nico feels his heart and confidence shatter as he reads them.
Because...had he—had he really let himself go? Nico knew he's not 20 anymore, that he has fine lines and gray hair that he keeps carefully dyed. His skin is no longer as taut and firm as it was back in the 2000s and no matter how much he exercises, he can't get back the ultra flat stomach he had when he was racing.
Nico has soft curves that Lewis loves clinging onto him, eagerly demanding Nico ride his face so Lewis's hands can squeeze his full, round ass and lush thighs.
Nico always felt like a goddess when he was with his boyfriend but...
He gets out of bed and moves to the ornate full length mirror they bought when Nico first moved in.
When he was still racing, Jenson Button nicknamed him "Britney" because of his flowing, golden hair and undeniable pop princess good looks. He was blue eyed and angelic, able to get away with being a bit of a brat just because Nico was so fucking pretty.
No one could deny that, not even the British commentators who tried to tear him down during the 2016 season. They called Nico more "mature looking" than before but back in 2016, Nico was still youthful and undeniably lovely—even after he hacked off all his hair in a bid to lessen the weight of his car.
But now, when Nico looks into the mirror, he sees a tired, worn out 40 year old man who looks like a circus clown dressed in tiny, pretty clothes that don't belong on his aging body.
For the first time in years, Nico shrinks away from the looking glass and dives into bed, burying his face in Lewis's pillow and trying to bite back the screams and the sobs.
He wasted all his good years fighting with Lewis and now, his lover—his best friend and longtime partner—is trapped with this ugly, old version of Nico.
He probably imagines fucking the younger you, some part of his brain hisses, the pretty paddock princess, not this washed up old body with the sagging skin. You really think you can keep Lewis this time? You think he won't leave you? Nostalgia can only last so long...and you're losing everything that made you pretty.
He is losing everything that made him pretty, isn't he?
The angelic good looks, the silky soft hair, the model-like figure.
No matter how much he spends on spa treatments and personal trainers and expensive facials at private clinics, Nico doesn't look like—
"There you are angel." The smooth rumble of Lewis's voice startles Nico from his hate spiral.
He tries to scrub away his tears but it's no use—he hadn't heard the bathroom door open. He didn't have time to clean himself up or change the pillowcase and now, Lewis is staring down at a red-eyed, tear-stained Nico who's biting his bottom lip with fear and anxiety.
Angel, he thinks, that's what Lewis calls me.
"But I don't look like an angel anymore." The words tumble from his lips in a soft, fragile whisper.
He doesn't even realize he's said these thoughts out loud until Lewis's entire body freezes, muscles tense and coiled.
Nico's eyes widen as he realizes his error. "Nothing." He tries to brush it off. "I'm just tired and I know we're waking up early to go jogging with Max and Charles so—"
"Those kids will be fine if we don't join them." Lewis shakes his head. "What did you mean when you said you don't look like an angel anymore? My beautiful princess. I've never heard you talk like that."
Lewis sounds so earnest, so genuinely confused, that the control Nico's been trying to build up completely collapses.
And he lets the tears fall all over again. "I saw an Instagram reel. And it had all these photos of me when I was younger—and I looked so pretty, Lew. I really did. B-but I was dumb. I wasted my youth fighting with you when I should have tried to figure out how to make it work. I spent it battling it out with you on and off track and now you're stuck with this o-old ugly version of me." The tears steadily roll down his cheeks, staining Nico's frothy pink nightgown. "I l-love you, Lew, but I'm just—I'm a second rate version of myself. And I'm sorry."
"You are not a second rate version of anyone or anything, Nico Rosberg." Lewis doesn't even finish speaking before he's sitting down on the bed, back against the headboard, and hauling Nico into his arms.
The blond lets out a token yelp of protest but he easily melts into the embrace, burying his face in the crook of Lewis's neck.
"Angel-boy," Lewis murmurs, using the nickname that Nico secretly loves with all his heart, "you don't think you're beautiful? You think you 'wasted' your youth? Mein schatz..." Nico feels Lewis kiss the top of his head, "you didn't waste anything. We built this future together, we made memories—we fought and we laughed and we loved and we kissed. And I wouldn't have it any other way. Every memory and moment with you is better than anything else in this world. My angel-boy," those muscular, tattooed arms tighten around Nico's older, softer body, "you're as beautiful to me as the day I met you."
And when Nico hears those words? The relief and the tears and the repressed fear burst out of him in shaky sobs as he clings onto his Lewis, onto the only man he's ever loved, and lets himself be held.
Because even if the whole internet thinks he's washed up and ugly, he has his Lewis—his generational talent, the love of his life—telling Nico he's still his angel-boy.
