there's rosy flush to her cheeks as she leans in, standing up up up on her toes- only she meets his eye and loses her nerve, her lips settling near the corner of red's mouth. it's a brief kiss, just a peck, really, a light smudge of pink lipstick left in her wake. 'um. . .hey, red.'
his eyes practically cross to watch luka rise to her toes. did she mean for their faces to be oh so close to one another, or was she just pulling cute antics as usual ? red can’t seem to take his eyes off of her, welcoming smile slowly fading as the softness of her lips press against the corner of his own--- it was something he had been thinking about for months, yet, he had never thought it would happen so out of the blue, so quickly and tentative as it had. his lips part, ruby eyes falling as she returns to her normal height once again. red’s cheeks were a roaring pink, a deep heat bubbling beneath his skin. ( did-- luka just kiss me ? )
he’s astounded, his words lagging behind his racing thoughts. ( she kissed you ! she must like you right ? you like luka and you’ve been thinking about kissing her for months on end. she beat you to it-- maybe you should kiss her back. let her know it’s mutual. ) slowly, a smitten smile warms red’s expression, teeth biting down on his tongue to try and contain his absolute excitement and happiness. a deep breath filling his lungs as a euphoric sigh escapes his lips to reply--- ❛ – h-hey, luka. ❜
red lets his gaze shift, a hand raising to run through his hair in nervous confusion-- surely he couldn’t be wrong about it this time. it all added up, the blushing, the cute silences always broken by laughter, and the kiss-- this wasn’t a one sided crush, this was mutual. he shakes his head, a short, boyish laugh breaking through his smile as he does so-- ❛ – i’m sorry. i’m sorry i’ve been so silly-- ❜ his finally brings his gaze back to luka, tilting is head slightly, a small smirk tilting with it as he stoops down, ❛ – i should have done this ages ago. ❜ and with that, he leans in, eyes closed, pressing his lips gently against hers, a kiss lasting longer than the one luka had given him, but still soft and wishing all the same.
and once he pulled away, ruby eyes open, smile warm on his expression-- that was long over due. but his heart was racing, his cheeks were flushed, and he just hopes he wasn’t wrong.
