Wannabe Challenge free to play tips
(Or for anyone looking to get as many free resources from the game as possible)
Ok so I got to player level 70+ and main story level 14 after about 60 days of collecting daily rewards and not using any real money. I also got to read quite a bit of Dream Garden levels and completed all His Story levels, so I know a few good tricks. Keep in mind though that these tips are best for those who want to progress in the story fast, not necessarily for card collectors.
~ Gathering resources ~
Watch. Every. Single. Ad. It’s tedious, but you get 150 diamonds, 5 x 20 hearts and 5 x 1500 coins daily. Check the rooms for the camcorder too.
In the Shop, buy the daily jackpot gem box. For 3 x 1000 coins you get at least 150 diamonds daily. I’ve been pretty lucky with this, sometimes I get 100, 200 or 400 with just one pull (it’s rarer, but I’d say it still happens weekly).
Complete the daily missions. It also helps to get a pet (the cat is the easiest to get). Speaking of pets, I wish I hadn’t spent the pet shop coins on food, because by now, I would’ve had enough of them to buy another pet. Now that I’ve reached lvl 10 (the max) with the cat, I can’t complete the two pet-related missions anymore, which means wasted EXP, because I’m not spending diamonds on new pets.
Complete work with 2, 3 and 4 stars (hearts, coins and diamonds, respectively). I rarely ever do 1 and 5 star work. Also, watch an ad for one free ticket recharge daily.
Get 40 friends. Then hit “Send hearts to all” and wait for them to return the favor.
Complete the challenges under Main Mission and Achievements. Main mission gets you plenty of work tickets too. I was pretty bummed to see this tab disappear after I got to around mission 1100, but it got me good resources while it lasted.
For evolution materials in elite levels, watch out for Hot Times – this seems to be an event happening every weekend. You get double the rewards, so it pays off to stockpile materials then.
It’s worth using 3 x 10 diamonds to get 3 x 4000 coins daily. The same goes for hearts: you can buy plenty each day before it gets too expensive (I usually stop when the price is 50 diamonds and wait til the next day when the prices reset). Heart prices start at 10 diamonds until you reach level 50 (then the base price is 20 diamonds).
Events like this are useful for trading the currency for some resources (don’t bother getting the card unless you absolutely want it, it’s impossible for free to play without spending stockpiled diamonds):
2022 update!
So it's been forever since I first started playing this game and some of the tips I shared in the old post no longer apply. Here are some up-to-date ones, since I've come back to playing Wannabe recently:
The new If+ evermore summons don't have free pulls; you either have to use If tickets or diamonds, so they're not worth it if you're f2p. My new strategy is saving all my diamonds for advanced summons through which I mean to obtain all the UR cards (I'm only missing Biho's at the moment). UR cards are the best investment even though they take a long time to obtain and evolve, but they're so so so worth it for passing late-game levels.
The game now has a feature where you can re-start an old evermore event with some in-game currency. And they've also brought back the romantic editorial If summon, which has the old free pull every 48 hours.
Some Dreams evermores might be worth investing in. Look out for weeks where your Dreams rewards are double. I usually burn all my hearts for this event to get as many items to trade for Dreams card pieces.
Try to log on 4 times a day when you get login heart gifts. That will give you 200 hearts per day alone. A great alternative to watching ads.
You can now add up to 50 friends and exchange hearts. Useful!
Try to keep a high score in Fame PVP and just come in daily to claim your coins.
I no longer watch the daily ads like I recommended in the old post because it would take too long. Instead, I try to do as many daily missions as possible and go to the store to buy the three diamond pulls for 3000 coins. This gives me a minimum of 200 diamonds daily and is good enough for my current play style (which is a lot more casual now).
I also try to log in a couple of times a day to refresh my work tickets. I get 16 free tries daily because of my player level and also have 240 stockpiled tickets from past events. It's really worth it to do a lot in the Work menu instead of spending time watching ads.
Clothes very much do matter, contrary to what I said in the old post 😂. While it's true it doesn't matter what clothes you wear, you should own as many as possible, since every piece of clothing adds to you outfit score even if you don't wear it, you just have to own it! This can help if you're struggling with an unpassable level.
These are pretty much the main things I've figured out since coming back to Wannabe. Hope it helps!
