Pretty proud of this piece - it’s of a hornbill like species in my workbuilding project
Doing a fun challenge with friends - everyone chooses a biome and animal species, and then we spin a wheel and whoever it lands on, we have to draw our own chosen animal as if it evolved in their biome - here’s a doodle of my own two choices, the Asian elephant and mangrove forests
Elphas salarborcare, or the salt elephant, has eked out an interesting niche within the mangrove forests it calls home. This large species of proboscidian is a xylophage, or wood eater. It’s developed a unique dentition, somewhat similar to modern day beavers, and it uses those unique tusks and bulk to tear down trees to feed. As large herds do this, they create swathes of open water within the forests, which causes proboscis monkey troops to follow them in order to collect the many fruits and leaves that are left behind after the salt elephant’s feasts
Tried screen printing! This is a piece of the three great apes
More school stuff - this was a perspective piece
Sorry for not posting a lot on my tumblr for those who follow I just got done with SAT and stuff so I should post more now -
Here’s some sketches I did with conte crayons and charcoal
Jersey devil! Used a ton of different critters for the different parts
Been on a cryptid kick lately, used JSpaint
Here’s some more traditional pieces from my own region, Chu’Lel. My friends, Eo, Dei and Wyvern, all have their own regions, called Chu’ganath, Jīnyân and Brul’Gi’Va.
Pieces pictured - Brackish Kraken, Sangun Titan, Koj’kuh and Blue Prince
Chicken!!
The Greater Griffon, Jewel of Chu’Lel
This species is the second largest volant animal native to Chu’Lel. Many Beastkeepers (Tetl scientists) believe these creatures and their relatives are the reason dragons went extinct on the continent. Powerful, beautiful, and rare, a Greater Griffon spotting is one to treasure indeed
Drew my worldbuilding sona(?) William Ouhoto doing the fastball special with my friend Wyvern’s sona, Kane of Beithir
The Champion of Sakaar, Beta Ray Bill
I hope he gets into Doomsday 🙏
These are some examples of the statues that Tetl Stonecarvers have spread across the region - each having a very different meaning.
If a traveler were to come across a Totem of Lel, or a serpent statue, it often means something helpful is in the area, like a Beastkeeper outpost, fruit tree, river, etc
Conversely, a Temple Guardian (often modeled after the Greater Griffon, a species native to the regions jungles) signifies a place of importance, or reverence. It also tells those visiting to make sure they are respectful.
Finally, wayfinders like the Sitting Monk mean one simple thing - danger!
