You didn't know but he put it on his nightstand and would stare at it wistfully as he laid in bed at night. He was amazed by the beauty you had created that no one had appreciated. He kept it long past its death. Throwing it away brokenhearted, only as the long since petals decided to mold.
And now staring at the seeds he'd picked for you you felt a shiver of hope. Maybe he liked you back? But how would you find out? You supposed you could always ask him.
The next day at work you couldn't sit still. You fidgeted with nervous excitement. You kept stealing glances over at Taehyun as he helped customers, often meeting his eyes as he was looking at you too.
Taehyun was losing his mind with nerves. Did you figure it out? It wasn't too obvious but if you cared you surely would have noticed. And why did you keep looking at him? Did you indeed figure it out but were disgusted instead of enamored?
He was dying to put it simply.
Gathering up courage he went over to your side and pretended to be interested in the flower magazines on the stand. He was dying to ask you, but he was terrified.
"Hey Taehyun?" Your soft voice reached his ears.
He hummed in response, not looking at you, too afraid to see what emotion was swimming in your eyes.
"Why did you recommend those flowers to me? Was there a reason or...?"
His knee's almost gave out. He yearned to say the truth. But his mouth was his enemy. "They are just my favourites."
"Oh." He finally looked up to see disappointment in your face. It nearly broke him.
"I love you!" He blurted before his mouth could seal shut, trapping them inside of him forever.
Your mouth dropped open in shock.
Feeling a strange surge of confidence he rushed on. The words seemed to spill from his lips.
"I have for a long time really, I just never knew how to tell you. I know how much you love flowers so I thought that by giving you flowers with romantic symbolism it would take the place of a worded confession. I just got really nervous and afraid you'd reject me." His voice grew quiet giving you time to respond.
You were stunned for a moment before regaining your voice. "That's the sweetest way someone's ever confessed to me." You smiled at him. "Who knew you'd be such a romantic?"
His ears were burning. "I'm not really.... I just wanted to be for you."
"You can be."
His eyes widened in surprise. Hope flared inside his chest. "Really?"
"Yeah unless you changed your mind."
"No." He said it so firmly it took you aback. "Never. I'm not changing my mind. Not now, not in a million years, not ever." His voice held such truth and longing it made your insides mush.
"I won't change my mind either." You assured him, reaching across the counter to grab his hand.
He hesitated before bringing the back of your hand up to his lips and placing a soft lingering kiss to it that said more than words ever could.
A gloved hand brushed yours. "Let me." Taehyun said gently.
You removed your hand from the gardening box, letting Taehyun pull the last weed and throw it on the pile. He wore gloves, and sensing you wouldn't wear any, he brought an extra pair with him. Still he didn't want you to hurt yourself on a thorn. What if the thorn was so sharp it broke through the fabric of the glove and pricked the delicate skin beneath?
"You could have let me pull a single weed you know? I know your my boyfriend but I'm not helpless."
He felt warm inside at the title. Boyfriend. That's right, he was your boyfriend. Him confessing to you hadn't been a dream, and you returning his feelings hadn't been a hallucination.
"I like doing things for you." He said simply, pulling off his gloves.
You rolled your eyes affectionately. "I love you."
"I love you too." The words rolled easily off his tongue. He felt happy and content saying them, it was no longer a struggle to get words past his lips for you.
You grabbed a seed packet, Lilies, and smiled mischievously.
"Don't worry when these grow i'll make you all the flower arrangements you want so you don't have to horde dead flowers." You teased him.
Oh how he regretted telling you about the first bouquet he bought from you.
"Throwing them away feels like I'm throwing away a part of your love." He admitted softly.
God how you adored him.
"You can't throw me away that easily."
He smiled. "I'll never throw you away."
The two of you spent the rest of the afternoon planting your garden. Taehyun being patient when teaching you the steps and techniques.
The time he had with you was the happiest time in his entire life. He had no regrets about blurting those three words to you.
As you stood in the setting sun looking proudly at your now planted garden, he couldn't resist intertwining his hands with yours and pressing a gentle kiss to the side of your head before pressing his lips against you. Taehyun always kissed you like he was returning from a 30 year long war. His kisses were filled with yearning. He wanted you to know how much he was devoted to you. And he would do it through any means.
Yes Taehyun was a quiet person, but he would give you all his words if it meant making you happy.

You faced him with a fond smile. "What are you taking pictures of now?"
He lowered his phone and began inspecting his new photos. "Everything. You mostly but nature to."
"Don't you have enough photos from today alone?" You teased him.
Your boyfriend was always complaining about his phone dying but refused to stop taking pictures of practically anything that moved. He had an abundance of photos of you in embarrassing circumstances and refused to delete them.
"Never enough." He quickly snapped a picture of you which made you roll your eyes playfully.
He smiled lovingly at the new picture of you and saved it to his collection of you. A moment could never go to waste with him. He loved every moment he spent with you, and never wanted to forget. That's why he was so determined to document every moment.
Pressing a kiss to the side of you head he showed you a pretty picture of the sky. He was rather proud of his picture taking abilities, even if he accidently spent half of your date taking pictures of everything.
When you stopped by a cafe for breakfast you didn't dare reach our for your food knowing Sungho would just lightly smack your hands away. Why? Your boyfriend had to obviously take pictures of your food to keep record of this early morning cafe date.
Not only was he capturing the food but also you eating the food. He'd just cheekily smile as he took a photo of you eating a pastry.
No matter how you complained about him purposely taking ugly pictures of you, he kept and loved them all.
You were beautiful no matter what in Sungho's eyes.
Especially when you were sleeping cuddled into him and stealing all his body heat.
He couldn't count the amount of pictures he had of you laying against him deep in sleep, and some even drooling. They were his favourite pictures of you.
If you woke up while he was taking pictures he would just distract you by pressing countless kisses to your sleepy face.
Sungho might take a lot of pictures of your relationship but you were his favourite thing to capture.
