white ppl will steal every aesthetic from black culture and then call it something so stupid like bo derek braids instead of box braids or hasbin hotel core instead of black southern dandism. yall will bend over backwards to call my culture barbaric/scary just to drool over the aesthetic the moment no actual black people are involved (21 pilots vs actual reggae). And if ur white/nonblack reading this just reblog. I dont need any comments talking about how not racist you are + speaking up over actual black people.

i....found a rare shoegaze tape. legit. band does not exist online. tape is at least 20 years old. This is so Sam
rare tape.
ok ok....track for you from rare tape. ripped by me
I HAVE SOURCED MORE INFO!!!! from my friend who works at an nz audio archive and they HAVE THE TAPE THERE? COVER:
Final info ive put together after i have just looked over the insert notes (inside the other tape) sent to me by my friend:
This band had Steven Wells and Andrew Bain in it - they went on to be in a pretty popular NZ rock band called Fur Patrol from late 90s-2000s, so this is a precursor to that. in the notes they also thank Campbell Kneale, a prolific underground nz musician in bands like Birchville Cat Motel and Black Boned Angel. they also thank "Drinkwater".
alright everyone. after 33k+ notes on an obscure 90s indie song from Aotearoa i gotta admit many want to hear the rest, & as i cant think of a better format to supply this, here's the rest of the tape in this post. please let it stay here where it needs to be, don't spread it like its yours. its not mine either! i now present to you: Clayflower - Still (1993, Aotearoa, Cassette, Shoegaze/Indie Rock)
beautiful and cool obscure music like this is everywhere if you just wanna look for it even for a few minutes. dont let yourself think someone has to come along and show it to you <3
i support universal free healthcare for one simple reason: if you are diagnosed with a terminal illness you should quit your job. quitting your job is the correct response to terminal illness. but you can’t do that if your healthcare is tied to your job
listen if somebody knows that they will be dead in a years time, and you are forcing them to continue to come into work, that’s fucked up. terminally ill people should be able to quit their jobs and live their last few months to the fullest. i don’t get how that’s a controversial opinion
Get peer reviewed:
This is not just serious illness.
It’s any illness.
No one should be forced to work if they have the flu, or even a cold.
No one should be forced
to work if they have the flu,
or even a cold.
Beep boop! I look for accidental haiku posts. Sometimes I mess up.
It's also just like. So important for containment purposes. If you gotta go to work with some contractible illness, you'll pass that illness on to your coworkers. This is bad enough when we're looking at the flu or something, but it's obviously way worse with more lethal pathogens.
Also, if the whole workplace has got the shits, none of them are going to be very efficient workers. It's in the company's interest to not force workers to come in while sick. Really it's in everyone's interest.
There's basically no positive about forcing people to come in while they aren't feeling well, not even economically.
Which is more tragic?
It was inevitable
It could have been avoided
A mix. It could have been avoided if anyone involved had been a different person, but with these specific people it was inevitable.
i don't know how to say this without being all 'kids these days' BUT kids do seem more sheltered nowadays regarding reading. all the kids' chapter books are called something like 'sir poops-a-lot and the massive fart' and people are absolutely vehement that a teenager can't read wicked because of its (nonexistent) smut and on threads right now people are seriously having a debate about whether 12 year olds can read ya books. when i was in year seven reading flowers in the attic was a rite of passage and now people are afraid of preteens knowing about the existence of sex.
I don't feel like it's 'kids these days' so much as I know a lot of folks who grew up as late GenX early Millenial hellions who have tweens-to-college grads right now and they have sheltered the fuck out of them on purpose without realizing that pre-adulthood starts earlier than you think, and uncomfortable situations cause growth.
They remember what they went through and how they were at tween-to-college grads and they don't want that for their babies because it sounds hard.
I was reading about snakes coming out of vaginas at age 8 because of Clive Barker, and snuck my father's Playboys to read the articles and jokes AND look at airbrushed naked perfectly globular boobs and well-landscaped strips of downy pubes AND ate poisonous plants AND made OTHER kids eat poisonous plants AND fell out of trees AND rode bikes without helmets AND jumped off roofs AND hood-surfed on cars AND played our own bridge to Terabithia with rope swings over ravines AND AND AND a thousand thousand other things, MANY of which are low risk, some of which are HIGH risk and we look at kids now and think that 13 yo are infants but we certainly weren't.
And some of the things we protect kids from DO merit needing protection. (Namely the ones that will cause brain damage, disease, and unwanted children.) But not all of 'em. DEFINITELY not all of 'em.
Let your kids learn things and experience things, because they're gonna without you at some point, and you should pave the way for them to know you trust them, and they can trust you and ask you questions.
Nah fr though, I read A Song of Ice and Fire books 1 through 4 as a child (like 9 to 12yo) and I turned out only mildly traumatised.
Jokes aside, It's also notable that this sheltering also further prevents kids from an active interest in reading - if you're not allowed past 3rd grade material at age 14 it's only natural that you wouldn't be interested in reading.
In general this all-encompassing fear that a child might learn about what sex is as a young teenager is utterly irrational. They'll figure it out. Even without internet access they figured it out. It's especially ridiculous to me, because I distinctly remember not knowing a lot of porn terminology in middle school (despite reading some very explicit books, they didn't use that type of language) until a classmate straight up talked about it. They'll find out either way.
Its weird, because I do remember hearing about near worldwide efforts to get sex ed into middle schools so kids would at least know what it is they aren't meant to do yet, but somehow we ended up regressing instead. My guess is a quick and decisive, large scale lobbying campaign, lining up with the recent campaigns trying to force kink off of game's platforms like steam and itch.
I found the pin HERE
More like 60 tabs which stay open for weeks or until the browser eventually fails.
We don’t need to talk about just how many tabs I keep open at once. It regularly exceeds 250. More then about 4 stacks in Minecraft
And somehow I forget that these tabs is even there and remember them in the worse times istg...
Not to mention the tabs are open across multiple windows
Hey man if you're keeping things clean by having related tabs in different windows that's admirable if anything. I have 1 window with all my Roleplaying resources open in it and that's the best tab sorting decision of my life.
However, the 4 other windows without any kind of rhyme or reason are to the detriment of my self perception
always remember that chell is canonically* a transgender woman
Transition timeline; 99999 days on Aperture Science homebrew œstradiol
POV you used the phrase "transition timeline" on [tumblr] post about 20-year-old video game models
You don’t have to think you’re hot but other people inevitably are going to so you at least need learn to accept that perception with grace instead of falling back on self deprecation every time someone is brave enough to call you cute
WRONG! ASEXUAL BEAM
I don't think self hating is the correct response, but I will instantaneously think;
If people tell me they find me attractive in any way. I don't hate them, I hate that they make me feel disgusting. I hate thate their first and only thoughts of me is "sex sex sex sex sex sex sex you owe me sex sex sex sex sex sex give me sex sex sex sex"
Oh okay cuz we were all wondering
"omg you're so pretty!"
OH?! YOU WANNA FUCK ME?!? YOU WANNA DESECRATE THIS BODY?!? YOU EXPRESSING YOUR DESIRE FOR MY BODY HUH?!? I HATE YOU.
Not every compliment is given from a place of carnal desire.
Sometimes I just really like the look, or I think you deserve some kindness and don't know how else to express it quickly.
We just knew.
As a reminder, this is what she looks like:
Also I hope everyone knows that Miette was fostered before she was adopted, and her foster mom loved that little kitten so much and always hoped she’d gone to a good home. this tweet got so popular that she recognized Miette and reached out to her current mom, and was able to share previously unseen baby pictures
You mean, she saw Miette was kicked like the football and did nothing to help put Mother in jail for a thousand years? I am appalled.
her!!!
Baby Miette!!!

Did you... Want more?
If posting fic online has taught me anything, it’s that I have no idea how the reader will react to anything. Nada. Zip. Zilch. Not the faintest clue.
Fics that I think I scribbled off just to get them out there get the kindest, most rapturous feedback. Fics I slaved over, agonized over, bled my soul into get a couple tepid replies. Fics I thought were me revealing the darkness and weird kink that lives in my brain, scared to even post it for fear of judgement, get, “Aaaw that’s so sweet!” replies. Baffling.
My conclusion? You just never know. You really just can’t know. When I did a workshop with 20 other writers I would try to guess what their critique of my story would be and I was right maybe 1 in 20 times. Only one other writer would have the same critique for my story that I had. And it wasn’t even always the same person.
The encouraging part about this is, if self recrimination, the fear that you know what people won’t like about your story, is holding you back, just say fuck it! You’re almost certainly wrong! All you can do is make it the best story you can for the energy you have. And yeah, sometimes that means scribbling it out in an evening and kicking it out to the void of the internet before you can change your mind or worry about editing it more than once because then you’ll never post it.
It’s all chaos, man. You don’t get to decide what the audience thinks. All you can do is create it and put it out there for them to decide.
I mean that last part with the writers is very natural. The things you don't like in stories, the things that are noticeable to you and that you critique negatively will be less present in your own works - because you're aware of those issues, your subconscious will work them out even without you actively doing it. The people that read your story will react to everything that's still left, which simply by virtue of still being there made it past your own internal filters. This will go for actually negative things, like word repetition or misuse of synonyms, but of course also for simple matters of taste.
if you submit polls, do you ever worry that someone you know irl is going to see the poll and trace it back to you and know that it was you who made the poll? specifically if it's a rather personal poll where you share some context
yes, i worry about this
no, i don't worry about this
i don't submit polls but this happens to me when i make posts
i don't submit polls and i never worry about this

body positivity has largely failed because people started arguing for attractiveness and romantic prospects instead of respect and dignity
this is truly the best summary of what all of this SHOULD be about
reposting this so staff will have a harder time trying to make everyone forget it <3
Welcome to the Far Side of the Moon
A crescent Earth sets behind the Moon.
On April 6, 2026, the Artemis II astronauts flew around the Moon, observing the far side – which we never see on Earth thanks to tidal locking – with their own eyes and with cameras.
