A lot of us are still working but we don’t know until how long. We know that everyone is staying at home and we understand. But we can’t help but be selfish and hope that we still get enough guests to stay open. We need money for our bills. We cannot stay and work at home. Many of us are students and are sending ourselves to school on top of our bills.

About to lose hours

For the past week, we were not getting a lot of guests through our doors. Now that our lobby is closed and only DT and delivery is available, this meant less hours to my already cut hours. This had made a lot of us quite nervous and are now looking at the monetary support that the government is giving us.

Reality of Being a Fast Food Worker

Most of the time we’re short staffed and are still expected to reach our targets.

Bullying is a thing and I’ve seen some people that don’t last because of it. I try to tell new people to go straight to a manager (I tell them which manager) to complain about it.

We’re on our feet 7+ hours. We’re always moving around.

Yes customer. Scream at me, the order taker, about the mistake that the kitchen did about your food. I TOTALLY MADE YOUR FOOD.

Burns and cuts doesn’t affect us anymore as much as did the first time it happened. Wash it, put band-aid and get back to work.

We had pretty hands until we started working near hot oil and grill.

We’re a fast food joint but that doesn’t mean our food quality is shit. We actually have to uphold the quality that our franchise expects to see.
