Okay, I just need to address this; 2026 has been THE year for the queer community. Or more specifically, the marginalized groups in an already marginalized group.

1. Aphobia (particularly for the more known parts, like aromantic and asexual) has been slightly decreasing since the popularity of Ryland Grace. Yes, he’s still being shipped with other characters because unfortunately human nature cannot progress that fast. But the most popular headcanon for him being that he’s aroace means the world to me, especially as an aroace myself. It’s caused representation to continue even after pride month, as people continually represent Grace as aroace. Whether it be fanart, fanfics, etc, it’s all beautifully made and I absolutely love how the phm fandom has opened new doors for the aroace community (and hopefully the entire aspec community in the future.)

2. Transfem folks! Ever since the revealing of Jax from tadc being a transfem woman, this has been the largest surge in a long time that a transfem woman has been embraced through her identity, rather than shamed or criticized for being a bad choice in writing (even though it still happens, just a little less now). The idea of tricking the internet into drawing a tumblr sexyman who was actually a tumblr sexytranswoman is beautifully absurd to me, and I adore it. My feelings on the creators and voiceactors of tadc are still mixed, but if there’s one thing I will still stand with it’s my opinion of transfem Jax/Lily. I adore her, she’s so so lovely, and even if it wasn’t the perfect writing or introduction or metaphor for a trans woman, I’m glad that it at least happened in the first place.

I didn’t love them because they were soulmates or “meant to be together in every universe” or because God shipped them.
