The pictures are of my cat sky (In the pfp I added a little bow if you know where it's from congrats that's one of my many fandoms) she is the best cat ever
if anyone needs an alternative to Harry potter because the author is a horrible, transphobic person, read the Septimus Heap series by Angie Sage.
Magic and witches and but not the same as hp,
different povs and stories from lots of different characters,
amazing art,
great plot,
similar ish length to HP but there's a sequel series (I haven't read it yet but I will)
+ the author is pro lgbtq+ and trans rights
The order of the books is Magyk, Flyte, Physik, Queste, Syren, Darke, and Fyre, along with extra, the Darke Toad and the Magykal Papers. The sequel series is Todhunter Moon.
The series is a bit old, Magyk (the first book) was published in 2005 and Fyre (the last book) was published in 2013, I think.
Long and slim, similar to Chinese dragons rather than the European dragons most tribes resemble. Slitherwings have three pairs of wings, one on their shoulders, one on their hind legs, and one near the end of their tail. Slitherwings have a wide range of possible colors and scale patterns. Their head is long like a rainwings'.
Lifestyle-
Slitherwings live in cliffsides, often ones that overlook oceans. Born and mostly raised in said cliffsides, hatchlings' eyes are sensitive to sunlight. Slitherwings are highly artistic dragons, often creating music, drawings or other forms of art. Slitherwing are often named after snakes or reptiles, along with earth/ground related terms (such as Copperhead, Micha, Mantle, Erosion)
Abilities-
All Slitheriwngs:
extreme tempature resistance
Might vision
Sensetivity to vibrations
Slight emissions of heat or coolness (like how icewings are cold)
Some:
Prisms- the title for Slitherwings with special, highly reflective and iridescent scales that allows them to temporarily. Prisms have a unique understanding of light and color, often becoming praised artists.
Echos- the title for Slitherwings with a second set of vocal cords that allow them to mimic the sound of anything/anyone they've personally heard. Echos are skilled with sound and often become musicians.
Screeches- the title for Slitherwings with a second set of vocal cords that allow them to emmit a high-pitched screech that targets the amygdala of others. Screeches often serve as royal guards.
All three of these special abilities are monitored by the Queen. To make a Slitherwing have such abilities, they must be placed in two specific caverns in the slitherwing kingdom until hatching.
One cavern (named the sun cave) is filled with reflective gemstones. An egg placed under them and exposed to refracted sunlight becomes a Prism.
The other cavern (called the resonance chamber) is quite large and creates many echos, like from the wind. A Slitherwing egg exposed to the constant whistles of the wind will become an Echo or Screech (eggs closer to the edge of the cliff/closer to the wind become Screeches).
A single Slitherwing cannot have multiple special abilities.
Royalty-
Queen Cenchira and King Volcanic rule over Slitherwings. Their have four dragonets (from oldest to youngest), Metamorph, Igneous, Sediment, and Primitive. Sediment and Primitive are twins. Primitive is the only princess.
Queen Cenchira is named after the scientific name for the Rainbow boa. She resembles said boa, her scales are mostly a soft brown iridescent and give off a rainbow-like reflection. King Volcanic is named after his volcano-like appearence, he is large, mostly dark ash-brown with crack-like markings across his body in the color of magma-yellow-red-orange.
Metamorph resembles his father the most, though his crack-like patterns are wider than Volcanics and an iridescent. Igneous has deep grey-brown scales with thin swirls of deep, shiny blues and greens. Sediment's scales are multiple layer-like patterns of earthy tones (greys and browns), speckled with tiny dots of rainbow iridescent. Primitive looks the most like her mother, with similar soft brown scales, though she has splotches of non-iridescent spots on her scales.
Queen Cenchira is a partial Prism (there was a storm that lasted a month during Cenchria's time in the sun cave, so her egg wasn't exposed to the full amount of sunlight). Volcanic is a Screech. Metamorph is a Screech. Igneous is a (full) Prism. Primitive and Sediment share the echo ability (primitive can hear/remember the sounds, while Sediment can replicate them).
Other Slitherwings I made-
Calliophis
Named after the Malaysian blue coral snake, his scales are a dark blue, light blue, deep orange and pale yellow in a horizontally layered pattern. His frill is plale orange
Prasnia
Named after the asian vine snake, Prasnia is multiple hues of greens and teals that blend together, her scales are dotted with tiny and pale, near-white specks.

If anyone made it this far congratulations now you know more about a random person online's wings of fire fantribe than you ever needed to know (this took so long to type out)
Also @idontwant2bhereijustwant2lookart because they said they wanted to see this
i'm about halfway through, for people who've read it before that's about when Pip gets kidnapped by the DT killer. At the part I'm at, Jason is revealing he killed Pip's dog (Barney).
Who the fuck does that?!
Rip Barney and maybe Rip Pip too cuz IDK how she's gonna get outta this one
May or may not have nightmares of blood on my hands and gunshots in the near future
(yeah, apparently Pip killed the DT killer and got away with it with the help of Ravi and her friends. If I were in her situation, I lwk woulda js kms. I probably woulda way before that if I'm being honest. And I don't have that many friends willing to actually do smth like what Pip's friends did for her. Not saying Pip is lucky or anything tho😭)
WITCH HAT ATELIER MANGA SPOILERS UP TO THE END OF CHAPTER 59 (11th book)
OHHHH shit is SO going down.
Mr. King man is serving, I can't seem to decide how old he looks cuz he seems in his fourties in some panels and twenties in others LOL.
I am crying over Custas, Galga did NOT deserve getting his memory erased and I feel so bad for his boyfriend....
Coco and Agott just keep getting gayer and gayer, meanwhile Qifrey is watching and wondering how to have that with Olly
agott's mom seems like a bitch, Richeh's sibling got some page time, and I love these types of pages
It's kind of blurry sorry.
Agotta love Agott
I'm starting to really like purple schemes on purple
RANT TIME (this is long sorry)
I feel so bad for Custas' situation. No one can blame him for what he's done and how he feels becayse it's all completely valid. He's lost his father figure, and the only way to keep him alive is to use "forbidden magic", which so many people are against. But what's really so wrong with it, if it's saving a life, even if temporarily?
Coco said herself that if she knew the counterclock spell when she turned her mom into stone, she would've used it, regardless of the consequences.
Atwert (Galga's boyfriend) asked why the Knights Moralis were prioritizing a bunch of rules over a human life.
Galga essentially lost his life: he lost his memories of magic, and because his entire life has been of magic, he's lost his memories of his entire life. He doesn't know who he is, who Atwert is, who the Knights Moralis are, or even the basics of the magic world.
That's the tragedy of the that memory erasing spell. Does anyone really deserve to forget themselves? Some people definitely deserve to be punished, but it's difficult to know whether they deserve to keep their memories of magic.
Magic itself is difficult to tell which is okay and not okay, even magic that isn't exactly forbidden can still be horrible. Magic is meant to help people, but there's always going to be people who will use it for personal gains or to hurt others.
There's magic for everyday use like the sylph shoes and magic, magic for entertainment like Agott's bird of light, or magic to harm like the scalewolf curse.
because of the versatility of spells it's so easy to make a spell to harm people, even if it's minor, or to make a spell with good intentions that could harm peoplle.
The petrification spell Coco accidentally used on her mom might be able to petrify things that aren't alive, which could be used to help.
The non-burning fireball spell is good for lighting but could teach people to not fear fire, as we were told.
The wingcloak spell Coco invented for Custas can help the mobility-disabled with transportation, but could get people into danger, as we were told.
The counterclock spell could be used to delay the death of someone injured until healer can arrive.
Healing magic is the main contender for this. It's good. It heals people, saved them from disability or injuries, what's so wrong with that? Healing magic has been completely or near completely lost to time, if it wasn't then Custas could have just used a really strong healing spell on Dagda instead of the Counterclock spell (which was making Dagda go through the pain of death over and over, along with constantly traumatizing Custas).
ANYWAY, END OF RANT HAH.
Here's something to cheer up anyone who got sad from that, if anyone actually read allat
