Gnosia’a character writing is so good. You have these larger than life personality sketches (someone whose undergoing the process to turn into a cat, someone with parasitic living slime, talking beluga whale) fleshed out by pretty subtle, realistic character writing underneath the painting-for-the-back-row, theatrical, broad stroke dialogue.

There’s a line in the true ending with Gina that reframes her entire story and gives a big clue into Oh! That’s why you’re like this! The resident soft boy Remnan is my favorite interpretation of the soft boy character because the writing doesn’t shy away from how his timidity comes packaged with high sensitivity and resentment. He’s pathetic and angry! It’s great! Between him and Gina the game demonstrates it knows the difference between Gentle and Learned Helplessness. It’s so smart and I hope whatever the studio does next it includes similar character writing.

I've been thinking about Jonas Gnosia. Specifically his clothes.

Most of the time, he dresses like a Hollywood cowboy. Or maybe a bartender in cowboy cosplay for a theme night or something. Point is, he looks cowboy-ish, and no one else does.

But there's also one scene where he does not.

It's never explained, or referenced, or even acknowledged in the one scene it happens in. I'm not even sure if those are real clothes, or if the Holodeck Viewing Lounge can project fake clothes over Jonas's cowboy costume. (I think they're real clothes, because Stella is in her normal outfit, but I acknowledge that's a weak argument.)

Anyways, assuming they're real clothes...those two costumes don't have much in common aside from being unusual, impractical, and mostly white.

So I headcanon that Jonas has other costumes that are unusual, impractical, and mostly white. Probably all associated with various historical archetypes. He's got a Roman toga candida, and a set of white samurai armor, and a white business suit. He just happens to be in a cowboy mood when Gnosia are around.

Finished gnosia. Fave running bit was remnan saying something nice about raqio only for them to say some dumbass shit in response leaving remnan looking them like this. Second fave bit was setsu throwing sha-ming out of the airlock.
