Sarah Black
Headcannon
Sarah Black is the sun personified, this woman was sweet as a peach but that doesn’t mean she wouldn’t fight you. I’ve always thought of Jacob being so much like his mom I mean even Charlie Swan says he’s exactly like her, so it’s a given the original sun would give birth to another little sun.
Growing up she was some of the few members that actually knew that their legends were true, It didn’t help that the dynamic three Billy, Harry, and Quil wouldn’t shut up about it! I mean Billy loved talking the stories of seeing his grandfather shift when he was young and at one point wanting to be able to shift as well.
Sarah was those kids that was always climbing something which her parents kept telling her to stop but the neighbors kept finding, “Uhh Hank little Sarah is up on our tree again”
So her dad figured to help her keep out of trouble he would have her paint and make sculptures with him which she found to love. But now that would be her excuse to be up trees, “the view is perfect up here! I just need to sketch out the cliff and I’ll be down in a minute!”, I mean the girl would disappear for a couple hours to find different views to inspire her.
Her favorite was water colors, over the years that was what she’d always go back to even if she tried to pick up other styles.
Even once her and Billy had Rachel and Rebecca she kept painting either to relax or for commissions. She was known for her paintings by the locals, Billy sometimes would drive to other towns close by and sale her work. Even though Sarah insisted she didn’t need her paintings to be sold. Billy would argue that more people needed to she how amazing her water colors were not just in the Rez or Forks.
Seeing Sarah paint inspired for Rebecca to want to paint like her mother but instead of water colors she’d do oil paintings. The girls really loved spending time with their mom, they even got a little jealous when she was pregnant with Jacob. Rachel and Rebecca would take turns on who would sit on her lap while she was painting. But once Jake was old enough to sit up he basically took over that spot much to the girls displeasure.
Sarah thought it was kind of funny how dramatic the girls were they found out they were going to have a little brother. Even when Jacob was born they were still trying to accept that they were going to have to share their mom.
Honestly Sarah blames Billy for the girls being upset since he mentioned that Sarah had always wanted a little boy. So, after that they would always argue how he was going to be their moms favorite now.
But eventually the girls get over it and dot over little Jake. It made Sarah so happy to see her girls wanting to get as much involved with him as possible. “Come on Rach it’s my turn to hold Jake! Dad! Rachel’s hogging Jacob again!”
Her family was would made Sarah the most happy even to the end of her days. Even on her last moments all she thought about was her family wishing she’d be able to be with them again.
